  • The introduction of BIM technology is expanding not only in the field of design and construction, but also in the maintenance and use stage. In particular, researchers are looking to build a smart facility management system that integrates advanced IT technology and BIM. This study proposes the parts to be used and added to the BIM information, focusing on information generated and exchanged in the application case that is an issue during the current facility maintenance work by introducing the smart facility management technology and its use cases. The effectiveness of this proposal is compared with the scenario in which BIM-based facility safety management is applied and the current business scenario. In conclusion, the requirements for smart facility management are analyzed, and linkable parts between facility management tasks and BIM data that should be reflected in the facility management system are presented. In the maintenance phase, through the use case scenario, the facility management phase is subdivided according to the characteristics and contents of the work. In addition, information about the facilities required for each task is specified. Furthermore, it is examined whether BIM data and IT information can be linked with existing facility management systems. It is a process and guideline that can be provided to practitioners who want to introduce BIM and smart technology to facility management. It can define the required data items and levels according to the required information step by step based on the maintenance case.

  • This study is aimed at investigating and comparing the differences in the uniform of nurses according to regions and hospital size in Korea. This study takes two large regions as its survey area; one is Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province, and the other is Daejon and Chungcheong Province. The hospital size is divided into general hospitals and neighborhood hospitals. The survey was conducted among the nurses working in 12 randomly-selected hospitals and its statistical results are analysed firm 818 respondents'questionnaires. The results are divided into 3 categories as follows; 1) Results of analysis of survey on the uniform of nurses : Nurses usually wear two-piece suits and more than half of the hospitals choose a white-color pattern. And the nurse's uniform with color varying according to their position and ward is considered to be desirable; 2) Analysis on regional differences : In the case of Daejon and Chungcheong Province, there is a relatively high ratio of respondents who answered questions with 'high percentage of young nurses', 'position differentiation by means of different design and fabric according to ward'. In case of Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province, questions with 'use of a patterned textile in nurses'uniform', 'ready-made size system'are higher; 3) Analysis of the differences in accordance with hospital size : In the case of general hospitals, there is relatively a high ratio of respondents who answered questions with 'use of different design and fabric according to a nurse's position', 'use of patterns in nurses'uniform'. In the case of neighborhood hospitals, there is a high ratio of respondents with'use of classical one-piece or two-piece type wear', 'ready-made type size system', 'obligatory use off nurse's cap'.

  • For high quality of software, it should be necessary for defining and analyzing the exact requirements at the early stage of software development. But readability and understandability of most natural language requirements are inaccurate and difficult for identifying use cases. The requirements are duplicated for objects or temrs with the same meaning. To solve this problem, it should need an effective way of requirement analysis based on linguistic and semantic textual analysis. In this paper, we propose to improve a semantic analysis method adopted with a linguist Fillmore's linguistic mechanism. This method may expect to analyze easily readable and exactly understandable requirements specifications through modeling the goal oriented use cases with natural language based requirements.

  • The operation performance of sewer rehabilitation projects conducted with Build-Transfer- Lease contract in Korea will be evaluated using the index of infiltration and inflow (I/I). Though I/I obtained at the fourth year should be initially evaluated based on the I/I values observed for the previous three years after the completion of sewer construction, the concrete methodology have not been proposed to rely on the so called 'performance evaluation committee'. This study suggests two statistical methodology to evaluate the I/I performance; the confidence interval method and the hypothesis-testing method. Assumed ten I/I values in each year for 20 years are used in this study. Two cases are analyzed and compared; case I to use as control data all I/I values for all years obtained before the evaluation year and case II to use I/I values for only 3 years before the evaluation year. As a result, case II tends to have relatively higher scores than case I, reflecting the low mean I/I values at the initial years.

  • The global information economy is transforming the way people connect with each other, learn new things, and contribute to the knowledge society. With the online platform, library services have also expanded beyond face to face interaction. Although studies of virtual reference services have been made in different parts of the world, a case study discussing various forms of online reference engagement in Kazakhstan has not been written. While most of the theories on connectivism emphasize the context of instruction, the researchers of this paper discussed the tenets as they relate to online engagement. Applying the theory of connectivism, this paper explores through a mixed method the use of various online platforms to enhance engagement connecting library users to information. Findings revealed that differences in patterns of interactions as to platforms, types of queries, and users reveal that students, faculty, and other members of the academic community served by the library have various preferences for communication. The case study further showed that respondents have not maximized the use of VLS but interest in using both synchronous and asynchronous services is clear. Finding connections between sources of information, creating useful information patterns, is essential in learning. Amplifying awareness on the use of VLS giving emphasis to the unique features of each service is useful in order to enable students to see how this platform facilitates learning.

  • Although lipoma is a common benign tumor, it occurs relatively infrequently in the oral and maxillofacial areas, and only 31 cases of lipoma in the buccal fat pad have been reported. Herein, we present an extremely rare case of symmetric lipomas in both buccal fat pads. These masses were incidentally discovered during a facelift procedure in a 50-year-old woman with a 4-year history of tamoxifen use. during which she had gained 10 kg. The patient stated that cheek protrusion had developed concomitantly with weight gain and was exacerbated by an injection lipolysis procedure she had received 1 year previously. This case underscores the importance of paying careful attention to the patient's medication use and surgical history when evaluating suspected cases of lipoma, and sheds light on tamoxifen use and subcutaneous injections of phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate as potential risk factors for lipoma development.
