Analysis of Detection Method for Series Arc Fault Signal by using DWT (이산 웨이블렛 변환을 이용한 직렬 아크고장 신호 검출 방법 분석)

  • Electrical fires have been occurred continuously in spite of installing ELB. Therefore the concern with the electrical arc-fault that cause the fire has growing. This paper measured series arc fault currents by the method of arc generator test in UL standard 1699. The used analysis methods in this paper are three different ways using DWT(discrete wavelet transform) those are frequently used for the arc fault current signal analysis. The arc fault detection probability is 100 % by method using noise-energy/shoulder-duration ratio of approximation coefficient. As these results, the variation of noise-energy and shoulder-duration ratio of approximation coefficient are founded important factors for the analysis of arc fault.

  • For renewable energy has been studied by many research. among them, non-pollution and infinite solar energy using solar power system is newly spotlighed. the DC output characteristic of the solar cell, connection to grid and using the inverter is essential to the process of converter DC to AC. in this paper, study the corresponding changes in the efficiency of the inverter and arcing occurs in the inverter, depending on the conditions and regulations in the UL-1699 series arc occurs.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the frequency spectrum of electromagnetic waves which is generated by series arc discharges to develop a condition monitoring technique in a closed-distribution board. We fabricated an arc generator specified in UL1699 to simulate series arc discharge. The experiment was carried out in an electromagnetic shielding room, and the measurement system consists of a Ultra Log Antenna and a EMI Test Receiver. The results showed that the frequency spectrum during series arc discharges was distributed in ranges of 30~500 [MHz], and the peak values were existed at 40 [Mhz] and 80 [MHz].

  • 누전차단기 설치 상태에서도 전기화재가 지속적으로 발생함에 따라 전기화재의 원인이 되는 전기 아크에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있는 실정으로 본 논문에서는 UL1699의 아크 저해시험(inhibition tests)에서 제시하고 있는 직렬 아크코장시험(Arc generator test)을 실시하고, 아크고장전류 분석방법으로 최근에 많이 사용되고 있는 이산 웨이블렛 변환을 이용한 3가지 분석방법에 대하여 아크고장전류 검출 확률을 분석하였다. 분석결과, (1) 근사계수 분석에 의한 최대치 변화율 실효치 변화율 분석방법은 46%의 검출 확률을 얻을 수 있었고, (2) 상세계수 분석에 의한 최대치 변화율 실효치 변화율 분석방법은 62%, (3) 근사계수 분석에 의한 잡음량 변화율 shoulder 변화율 분석방법은 100% 검출 확률을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the frequency spectrum of radiated electromagnetic waves generated by series arc- and corona- discharges as a basic study to develop an online diagnostic technique for power facilities installed inside switchboards. To simulate corona and series arc discharges, an arc generator specified in UL1699 and a corona generator were fabricated. The experiment was carried out in an electromagnetic shielding room, and the measurement system consists of an Ultra Log Antenna and an EMI Test Receiver. The frequency spectrum exists in ranges from 30 to 500 [MHz] for series arc discharge and 30 [MHz] to 2 [GHz] depending on defects for corona discharge. The peak frequency of series arc discharge and corona were 40 [MHz], 80 [MHz] and 35 [MHz]~160 [MHz], respectively.

  • This paper describes a series arc detection algorithm in a low-voltage wiring system. We designed and fabricated an arc detection circuit which consists of a high-pass filter with the low cut-off frequency of 170 kHz to attenuate power frequency. The series arcing phenomena was simulated by an arc generator specified in UL1699. In the experiment, various loads such as resistive loads, resistive loads controlled by a dimmer, and vacuum cleaners were used. Whether the signal is arc or noise is discriminated by pulse counts and periodicity of the detected signal.

  • This paper described the design and fabrication of a series arc detection module to monitor electrical insulation in low-voltage system. The module consists of a passive high-pass filter with a low cut-off frequency of 3 kHz to attenuate power frequency voltage by 80 dB and an active band-pass filter with a frequency of 4 kHz to detect series arc signals only. For the application experiment, we simulated series arcing phenomena on various loads such as incandescent lamp controlled by dimmer and inverter fed induction motors by an arc generator specified in UL1699. From the experimental results, we could detect series arc signals without an influence of noises.

  • In this paper, we propose algorithm plan variable for detection of DC arc. Changes of surrounding frequencies of harmonic wave is proposed to detect DC arc. To prove validity of these variables, we analyzed frequency based on the measured data and waveform of load current by performing the experiment which generates DC arc by using DC arc generator regulated in UL1699 was carried out.

  • 아크는 전기화재의 주요 원인 중 하나이며 전기 배선이나 설비 등에서 두 전극 사이의 기체를 통하여 방전되면서 빛과 열을 발산하는 현상이다. 본 논문에서는 UL-1699에서 규정하고 있는 직렬아크의 발생 조건에 따라 모의 아크 발생장치를 통하여 여러 가정용 부하에서 아크를 발생시키고 주파수 영역에서의 아크전류파형을 분석해 보고 신속한 아크 검출 방법을 연구하고자 한다.
