Economic design of a pn control charts using loss-cost function (손실비용함수를 이용한 pn관리도의 경제적인 설계)

  • A model for the economic design of an pn control charts with an assignale cause is presented and the loss-cost function for control schemes using these charts is derived. By minimizing this function with respect to the three control variables, namely, the sample size, the sampling interval and acceptance number, the economically optimal control plan can be optained. The article shows what influence increasing or decreasing condition, according to changeability of the size of these factors, of expected cost can have on the economy when an attribute control chart is used.

  • This paper studies a new replacement policy in case that average repair cost rate increases linearly in proportion to time t. At the moment when the repair cost rate reaches or exceeds a fixed level, the component is replaced. This policy is compared with the economic lifetime policy. Advantages of this model according to the increment of replacement cost is shown in numerical example.

  • Often in a production process, the quality of items is serially dependent. We assume that the quality of items is an attribute which can be classified as good or bad with a Markovian dependence structure. In order to determine sampling inspection plan characteristics such as total inspection cost and average outgoing quality, we design an economic model and illustrate an efficient procedure for design of best inspection plan using graphs based on numerical calculations.

  • In mobile browser two mental models coexist; one for mobile users and the other for PC users. In this research shows that users apply these two mental models simultaneously while they use mobile browsers. However cases where these two mental models conflict with each other, rapid deterioration of usability of the UX based on the mobile user's mental model was evident. Also usability of mobile user interfaces for use cases like "View Mode" or "Copy and Send Mode" were also poor, and the research shows that these "Modes" could be substituted by gesture interaction with which users were already familiar.

  • Low-end IoT devices do not have enough computation and memory resources for DNN learning and inference. Integer quantization of real-type neural network models can reduce model size, hardware computational burden, and power consumption. This paper describes the design and implementation of a web-based quantization platform for CNN deep learning accelerator chips. In the web service platform, we implemented visualization of the model through a convenient UI, analysis of each step of inference, and detailed editing of the model. Additionally, a data augmentation function and a management function of files that store models and inference intermediate results are provided. The implemented functions were verified using three YOLO models.

  • As XML is more proliferate as a data type between internet programs, automatic generation methods of user input form interfaces get more attention. Recently, generating user interfaces for web application or web service clients become very popular. In this paper, we study the method of automatic generation for XForms-based user interface codes based on XML structure definitions in DTD. With the repetitive edit action model, we present a formal generation method of Input form codes and the overall user interface pages. For the generated code is using XForms as a target language, the result is clear and efficient with the MVC structure. Also, we have developed XFormsGen system which implements the proposed method over the Orbeon presentation server.

Precipitation Change in Korea due to Atmospheric $CO_2$ Increase (대기중 $CO_2$ 증가에 따른 한반도 강수량 변화)

  • A precipitation change in Korea due to atmospheric $CO_2$ doubling has been estimated with a mixed method(Robinson and Finkelstein, 1991) to represent regional precipitation distribution from the simulated precipitation data by three GCM(general circulation model) (CCC, UI, and GFDL GCM) experiments. As a result of this analysis, the precipitation change by atmospheric $CO_2$ doubling can be summarized as follows: The precipitation increases as much as 25mm/yr during spring season and more than 50mm/yr during summer and autumn. However, it decreases as much as 13mm/yr during winter. In terms of percentage with respect to current precipitation climatology, we may have more rain as much as 10%, 13% and 24%, respectively, for spring, summer and autumn than current precipitation. However, we may have less winter precipitation than current climatological average.

  • The visual presentation is one key feature which gives much consideration in designing mobile applications as it acquires attention from the end user. It takes only a few milliseconds to form an impression on a person and this is not any different to the web and mobile application designs. The first few milliseconds are a crucial time for developers as the impression produced would indicate further engagement of the service. Developers should continuously update the designs based on human needs. A few of these contents have actually paved its way to being continuously used. By synthesizing results of preceding researchers, this paper considers layout, color, and font as UI design elements of SNS messenger, and illustration and animation as the graphic image of it. In this study, the preference for messaging application chat layout was being surveyed and analyzed. As a result, there has been little significance identified since the instant messaging, so chat layout shows very minimal variance in their design.

  • 본 논문은 개인별 프로그램 선호도와 채널 선호도를 기반으로 프로그램을 추천해주는 선호프로그램편성표를 구성하여 이를 효과적으로 보여주는 사용자인터페이스(UI) 모델을 제안한다. 현재 개인 맞춤화 전자프로그램가이드(PEPG)에 대한 다양한 연구가 이루어지고 있으나 주로 추천 알고리즘 연구에 그 초점이 맞춰져 있는 실정이다. 동일한 추천 알고리즘에 의해 추출된 프로그램이라 할지라도 정렬 순서와 디스플레이 방법에 따라 편성표를 이용하는 사용자의 용이성이 달라질 수 있다. 이에 본 논문은 추천 알고리즘에 의해 추출된 프로그램들의 선호도에 현재시간 기준으로 가중치를 부과하여 그 프로그램들의 선호도를 합산한 값으로 정렬한 편성표를 구성하였다. 이러한 선호프로그램편성표는 시청자가 가장 선호하는 프로그램과 채널이 최우선으로 보여지게 되므로 쉽고 빠르게 원하는 프로그램을 찾아갈 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 따라서, 사용자는 원하는 프로그램이 시작할 때까지 기다리거나 하는 시간의 낭비없이 시청이 가능하다. 본 논문을 통해 향후 등장하게 될 많은 개인 맞춤화된 서비스들을 개발하는데 도움이 될 수 있길 바란다.

A Case Study of Making Logo Animation Using Particles (파티클을 이용한 로고 애니메이션 제작 사례 연구)

  • In this paper, we present a case of making LOGO animation using particles with MAYA, a 3D computer graphics packages of Autodesk Inc. We composite a visual which shows a similar effects with a information movie of Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games. By analysing the movie, we model a human body part as a set of cubes and animated the cubes to have dynamic visuals which shows similar visuals with the movie. All the system is implemented with MAYA MEL scripts. The system shows various visual effects by controlling options available in the designed UI.
