Soccer is one of the popular sports globally, and South Korea is no exception; the professional domestic soccer tournament has been held in South Korea since 1983. The national soccer team in South Korea has shown outstanding performances, hosting the 2002 World Cup and achieving a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games and second place at the 2019 U-20 World Cup. In addition, one of the South Korean soccer players, Heung-min Son, has played a remarkable role in the English Premier League. Like other global soccer clubs, South Korean domestic soccer clubs create and manage their own YouTube channel to interact with fans and keep them updated. In this study, we explore how and why Seoul E-Land Football Club (SEFC) utilizes its YouTube channel. SEFC is distinctive in that they are playing at the second division, their home ground is based in Seoul, and they are sponsored by a company run on Christian values. We analyze one of the soccer club's YouTube channels multi-dimensionally and discover the roles of YouTube.

Half century has passed since Korean peninsula was divided into South and North Korea. Now a days, there are many differences of politics, economy, culture and education between South and North Korea. Especially mathematics education in which I am interested has a lot of changes and differences. This is proved true by defects' proof. For those reasons, I compared South Korea's education ideology, goal and system, and goals of mathematics education with North Korea's. I compared geometric(1-4 years, published by Pyong-yang Educational Book Publication Co. 1991) of mathematics texts(1-6 years) which are used in the secondary school with mathematics text of South Korea in contents and organization of them. As a result of this comparison, education ideology and goal are distinctly different from those of South Korea because of the difference of pursuing humanity. In North Korea, the curriculum is very strict without autonomy. There are 1283 mathematics classes which are occupied 19% for six years during the secondary school. The contents are very similar, but there is a little difference in the definition of a term. The problems which praise Kim Il-sung and his son and reveal loyalty to them were found, and there were a lot of problems in order to promote hostile feeling against U.S.A and South Korea, too. In conclusion, mathematics education of Korean peninsula should be reunified in the fields of the terms and contents at first.

This study investigates daily stock market anomalies in Chinese stock market, using nine most representative stock indices over an eleven year time period spanning from pre-financial crisis era to six years into the financial crisis. This research is the first to test the presence of the day of the week effect on stock returns in the Chinese stock exchanges during the financial crisis. We find that the day of week effects have been strongly significant in Chinese stock exchanges since 2004. However, unlike the previously found negative Monday effect and positive Friday effect in the U.S., Chinese stock market shows positive returns on Mondays and negative returns on Tuesdays. More importantly, the negative Tuesday effect is only significant after the inception of financial crisis. The results indicate a positive effect on Mondays and a negative effect on Thursdays. More importantly, we find a negative Tuesday effect during the financial crisis, which suggests a spillover of the Monday effect from the U.S. stock market. Our results shed some light on the degree of market efficiency in the largest emerging capital market in the world, and its increasingly close relationship with the U.S. capital market.

The Asia-Pacific Region has emerged as a arena of geopolitical competition between the U.S. and China. The Obama administration of the U.S. had laid out the concept of rebalancing strategy toward the region, concentrating its 60 percent of Naval Forces to the region till 2020 and consolidating its network of allies and partners. Whereas Chinese leader Xi Jinping also put forward the concept of new type of major power relations concerning its relations with the U.S. and a concept of 'the Asian Community of Common Destiny' aiming at a more intensified mutual relation among countries in the region. In doing so, Asia-Pacific region gradually became the arena where mutual competition and cooperation between the U.S. and China has crossfired. As a close ally to the U.S. and a partner to Japan, South Korea should develop trilateral naval cooperation by holding joint naval drill with the aim of humanitarian support and disaster relief. At the same time, Seoul also should make efforts to proceed mutual confidence building with Beijing by deepening military-to-military cooperation. These policy options will be helpful to enhance Seoul's security posture in the region.

In science and engineering programs in the U.S. in 2000 China, South Korea and India were top countries of origin sending students. More than half of the students intend to stay in the U.S. Immigration, education and occupational choices all have human capital aspects that require investments. A framework is proposed where expected incomes in both countries of origin and destination are calculated and used to reflect the substitution effect and the wealth effects of the expected incomes of two countries. It appears that nonpecuniary effects of education encourages immigration as much as pecuniary effects in the immigration decision equation. After the pecuniary effects are accounted for there is some negative nonpecuniary tendency of the professional scientists to immigrate to the U.S.

Online reviews offer valuable information to businesses by reflecting consumer experiences about their products and services. Two important aspects of online reviews are first, the topics consumers choose to address and second, the sentiments expressed in their reviews. Building upon previous literature that shows online reviews are context-dependent, we examine the impact of topic distribution on review sentiment in South Korea and the U.S. during pre-and post-pandemic periods. After performing topic modeling on Airbnb app review data, we measure the contribution of each topic on review sentiment using SHAP values. Our results indicate variations in topic distribution trends between 2018 and 2021. Also, the order and magnitude of topics' impact on review sentiment change between pre-and post-pandemic periods for both countries. This study can help businesses to understand how topics and sentiments associated with their products and services changed after pandemic, and also help them identify areas of improvement.

Large Eddy Simulation (LES) is used to study the effects of steady slot suction on the aerodynamic forces of and flow around a wall-mounted finite-length square cylinder. The aspect ratio H/d of the tested cylinder is 5, where H and d are the cylinder height and width, respectively. The Reynolds number based on free-stream oncoming flow velocity U_∞ and d is 2.78×10⁴. The suction slot locates near the leading edge of the free end, with a width of 0.025d and a length of 0.9d. The suction coefficient Q (= U_s/U_∞) is varied as Q = 0, 1 and 3, where U_s is the velocity at the entrance of the suction slot. It is found that the free-end steady slot suction can effectively suppress the aerodynamic forces of the model. The maximum reduction of aerodynamic forces occurs at Q = 1, with the time-mean drag, fluctuating drag, and fluctuating lift reduced by 3.75%, 19.08%, 40.91%, respectively. For Q = 3, all aerodynamic forces are still smaller than those for Q = 0 (uncontrolled case), but obviously higher than those for Q = 1. The involved control mechanism is successfully revealed, based on the comparison of the flow around cylinder free end and the near wake for the three tested Q values.
