Recently, developing U-City as an integrated set of ubiquitous space services has been regarded as a promising field in realizing ubiquitous computing technology. However, well organized requirement analyses of U-City to declare what kinds of ubiquitous space services are needed and which ubiquitous computing technology should be incorporated to come up with the needs are still insufficient. Hence, the aims of this paper are to propose a set of unique U-City construction philosophies and to analyze which services should be offered in the ubiquitous space services in U-Cities. A field survey to the citizens who are potential end users of the ubiquitous space services was conducted to analyze the success factors of U-City using CSF methodology. Focused group interview with professionals in the field of ubiquitous computing technology in Korea was then performed to identify the relationship of the ubiquitous space services and the critical success factors.

최근 들어 소득과 교육 수준의 향상으로 인하여 생활환경과 여가시간 그리고 건강에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 U-City와 지속 가능한 생태 도시에 대한 사람들의 관심이 증가되고 있다. 이러한 삶의 질 향상에 따라 최근 국토 해양부에서는 U-City에 더불어 지속 가능한 생태계 순환기능과 첨단 IT기술이 결합된 U-Eco City에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. U-Eco City는 첨단의 IT기술을 집대성한 유비쿼터스 기술과 생태계 순환기능 등의 생태 기술이 인간, 자연 그리고 공간으로 연결되는 혁신적이고 창의적인 도시환경과 무한한 도시가치를 창출하는 지속가능한 미래형 첨단 친환경 생태도시를 말한다. U-Eco City는 보다나은 생활환경을 추구하고자 하는 인간의 욕구를 충족시킬 수 있는 미래형 지속가능한 생태환경 도시로서 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 특히 미국과 영국에서는 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. U-Eco City는 더 나은 삶을 향한 인간의 끝임 없는 욕구 충족을 위해서 지속적인 연구가 필요하다. 하지만 아직은 U-Eco City를 도시 브랜드화 하기 위한 체계적인 연구가 미비한 상황이며, 특히 U-Eco City를 도시 브랜드화 하기위한 필수적인 단계인 인증과 관련된 부문에 연구가 많이 이루어지지 않고 있다. 따라서 현재 통용되는 인증 제도를 통한 체계적인 제도의 정립, 인증 기준의 마련뿐만 아니라 인증을 위한 세부 지침의 마련 등이 필요하다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 U-Eco City 개발 기발 요소 기술들을 기존의 인증기관을 통해 인정을 받을 수 방법들을 제시하고, 그 외의 요소기술들은 인증 기준을 제시하고, 인증기관을 인정하기 위하여 세부기준을 마련하도록 하였다, 다음은 신기술, 신제품 등, 인증을 받을 수 있는 제도적, 법적, 절차를 제시하였다. 본 연구는 인증제도를 통하여 U-Eco City를 도시 브랜드화를 하여 국내외 시장에 공급하고, 향후 개발될 U-Eco 기술인증업무를 지속적으로 수행하도록 하는데 그 목적이 있다.

This study is to suggest basic data for the policy on the energy demand and management of an U-based city compliant with characteristics of regions and districts in future city by conducting research on the energy consumption and management of an U-based city, considering city energy demand characteristics focused on the center district of Daegu metropolitan city. U-based city energy consumption and management solution is considered to be effective in establishing the guideline of environment-friendly urban architecture planning as well as the assessment of energy consumption characteristics in a city.

In this paper, the design methodology of information security is analyzed to implement the ubiquitous city (u-City). The definition, concept, and main u-services of u-City are presented. The main components, functio ns and offering services of u-City management center are presented, and the laws and network security requirements related to protect the personal information in collecting, processing, and exchanging are also analyzed. Three step security levels of Router/Switch, Firewall/VPN, and IPS are applied where main functions of in terception of abnormal packets($1^{st}$ level), access control for each service($2^{nd}$ level), and real-time network monitoring($3^{rd}$ level) are performed. Finally, application cases are presented to validate the security of personal information in providing the u-City services.

Nowaday, in Korea, many u-City projects have been developed as a core business in the new town development project by national or local level of government. However, the new business projects have some problems, such as excessive number of u-services, increased project funds and period, and lower u-services due to lack of u-service evaluation methodologies. Therefore, this paper proposes a new u-service evaluation methodology to solve current problems. The methodology gives an ability to guard general u-service groups for reaching the main goal of the u-City project, and then select alternative u-service groups against being limited by the law and technology in the project year. Besides, as a key variable on performing u-City plans, the complexity between stakeholders is considered in the methodology. Finally, through the Optimal Sequential Method in the methodology, the maximum value of u-service group is obtained as a optimal service group of u-City.

U-Eco City is promoted nation-wide by development of recent IT technology, method of effective countermeasure disasters, which real-time wire/wireless communication network, and 3D-Web GIS shall be connected that massive database, intelligent service be perceived. U&V-City is the four-dimensional future city that actualizes an intelligent daily ubiquitous computing service by embodying 3D-Virtual City, the reproduction of real world U-City while using Digital map, satellite image, VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language), which are presentation tool to describe city components and by efficiently catch and cope about nature and human disasters while employing EAI(External Authoring Interface) that provides HTML&JAVA, and interface for efficient removal/process of massive information/service and also by employing GPS/LBS/Navigation in support of the world-wide orientation concept, and RTLS(Real Time Location System).

In this paper, the requirements for information security are presented in the ubiquitous ecological(u-Eco) city. The various definition of ubiquitous city is analyzed first, the concept of the u-Eco City, services and major projects are then presented. The framework of the integrated operating center for u-Eco city is proposed, the privacy, data security and network facility protection in the center are analyzed. Unlike to previously proposed security algorithms, the light-weight encoding algorithms(such as block/stream encoding, pseudo-random generator, hash function, and public key encoding) in the u-Eco city center are required to communicate the information in the ubiquitous sensor network. Furthermore, the principal policies guaranteeing the secrecy and authentication for the private information are also presented.

U-City is the key element of the future knowledge-based society where every citizen will be benefited from the most advanced information technology. The following research reengineers the old process to define the rational and efficient process of the U-City construction project(BPR: Business Process Reengineering). In order to achieve the goal, identify and diagnose problem points, outline the improved plan, and readjust the managing system and process to propose better process. And Lastly, redefine the best efficient process by simple modeling using the UML(Unified Modeling Language). The goal of the systematic proposal is to make contributions to a base of the green growth to be the development of the Sustainable U-City.

In this paper I intended to confirm the concept of u-City as the real space in which citizens live, not as the virtual city in cyber space, and also I try to suggest the way of considering about u-City on the scope of physical planning from the step of communication between human and computer to the step of intelligence of computer which service to the needs by its own decision for human being.

The u-City construction project has become a hot topic In the construction market because it seems economic value-added field for construction firms. However, construction firms don't willingly participate in the u-City construction market because the future business environments for the u-City are very uncertain. Scenario planning is a very powerful method in managing this complex planning situation and is based on scenarios that help each enterprise appropriately adapt itself to its own business environments. Therefore it Is based on the main principles of systems thinking and multiple futures. For the purpose of dealing with such uncertainties, this paper attempts to develop the possible market scenarios of the u-City construction market through a scenario planning approach. From this perspective, we considered various aspects of the u-City construction such as market demands, technology development, policy level and management environment. After considering the relevant issues, we identified the main trends and key uncertainties. Then, we developed three coherent u-City construction market scenarios. On the basis of the proposed scenarios, the business strategies of potential construction firms in the u-City construction market has been formulated. Therefore, construction firms can use these scenarios as a basic data for market analysis and business strategy. Therefore, this paper is able to enhance the participation of construction firms in the u-City construction market.
