  • Recently, many auto makers and OEM are now developing various telematics control units(TCU). TCU has an embedded OS and many user-friendly services inherently and frequently the driver operates the TCU on driving a car. Although the TCU has some accident resistive functions, secondhand accidental problem arose. Current Korean domestic TCUs have some interfaces such as push-button, touch screen, voice recognition and etc. But, because of operational complexity, technical limitation, it has not sufficient user-friendly interface. In this paper, to overcome this problem, haptic devices are considered. We present haptic devices and applications on the basis of that of U.S. Immersion co. and also BMW's iDrive technology.

고무차륜 경량전철 차량의 승차감 평가 (Evaluations of Ride Comfort for the Rubber-Tired Light Rail Vehicle)

  • The dynamic model was developed to analyze vibration acceleration and ride comfort during the operation of rubber-tired light rail vehicles. The ride comfort for standing passengers was analyzed in accordance with ISO 2631-1, UIC 513R, and CEN Draft prENV 12299 using this model. The result was applied to the detail design of Korean-standard, rubber-tired light rail vehicles, and the detail specifications related to ride comfort was determined based on this result. The ride comfort test was performed along the test track by using 2 car-train, and its result was compared with that of the ride comfort analysis, verifying the validity of the developed dynamic model. It was also verified whether or not the developed Korean-standardized, rubber-tired light rail vehicle met specified target specifications on ride comfort.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the most approriate international marketing strategy of Korean shipping firms for Uruguy Round expected to be agreed among GATT members in 1993. In literature sur-vey, the service marketing philosophy was reviewed to clarify the functions and roles of marketing concept in setting up the international marketing strategies for shipping firms. The marketing concepts are characterized as follows ; 1) production-oriented stage, 2) sales-oriented stage, 3) marketing-oriented stage in the order of historical development. An comparative analysis was car-ried out to examine the differences in marketing strategies among Korean shipping firms and U.K. ship-ping firms.

  • V2X(Vehicle to Everything)는 차량 간 통신(Vehicle-to-Vehicle), 차량과 인프라 간 통신(Vehicle-to-Infrastructure), 차량과 보행자 간의 통신(Vehicle-to-Pedestrians) 등 운전 중 도로 인프라 및 다른 차량과 통신하면서 교통상황 등의 정보를 교환하거나 공유하는 기술을 말한다. V2X는 IT 기술의 발달과 여러 연구기관들의 연구개발 강화로 인해 'Connected/Smart car' 나아가 완전한 자율주행차를 구현하기 위해 빠르게 진화하고 있다. 이러한 V2X 시장이 향후 10년 간 급속한 확대가 전망되면서, 국내외 통신업체와 제조업 및 산학연은 자동차와 정보통신, 에너지, 서비스 산업을 융합한 스마트자동차 산업을 신성장 동력으로 하여 기술개발에 노력을 가속화하고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 V2X 차량 통신 기술의 주요선진국 기술개발 동향과 현 수준을 알아본다.

Robust Sliding Mode Control for Path Tracking of Intelligent Mobile Robot

  • This paper deals with the path following problem of car-like intelligent mobile robot. A robust sliding mode control law based on time-varying state feedback is performed via Lyapunov method for path tracking of nonholonomic mobile robot with uncertainties. At first, A sliding control law is designed by combing the natural algebraic structure of the chained form system with ideas from sliding mode theory. Then, a robust control law is proposed to impose robustness against bounded uncertainties in path tracking. The problem of estimating the asymptotic stability region and the sliding domain of uncertain sliding mode system with bounded control input is also discussed. The proposed sliding mode control law can ensure the global reaching condition of the uncertain control system.

철도차량의 임계속도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Critical Speed of Railway Vehicles)

  • This research has been performed to reveal the hysteresis phenomena of the hunting motion in a railway passenger car having a bolster. Since linear analysis can not explain them, bifurcation analysis is used to predict its outbreak velocities in this paper. However bifurcation analysis is attended with huge computing time, thus this research proposes more effective numerical algorithm to reduce it than previous researches. Stability of periodic solution is obtained by adapting of Floquet theory while stability of equilibrium solutions is obtained by eigen-value analysis. As a result, linear and nonlinear critical speed are acquired. Full scale roller rig test is carried out for the validation of the numerical result. Finally, it is certified that there are many similarities between numerical and test results.

  • Many children have died (Heat stroke deaths) in the U.S. after being left alone in cars during hot weather, especially summer season. According to related report, more than 800 children have died of heat stroke from being trapped in a hot car since 1998. The regulation party, government has started to make not only technical regulation to prevent tragedy but also legislate to punish. However the 75% of accident has occurred unintended by their parents. So punishment is not the best solution for this case. So in this study, we analyze the trend of regulation and technology to save occupant who remained back seat. And finally we propose a countermeasure to prevent heat stroke deaths.

  • Although extruded aluminium bumper beam has been commonly used in advanced car makers, there are not so much precedent for it's localization. For the localization of aluminum bumper beam of 7XXX series, benchmarking, material modifications of 7XXX series aluminum alloy, section design of beam, impact analysis had been performed in this study. High fuel efficiency and weight reduction could be achieved by using aluminum bumper beam of which the weight is lighter than that of steel. Moreover, it is expected to reach higher recycling rate by substituting aluminum for steel.

스티어링 펌프 브라켓의 경량화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Weight Reduction of the Steering Pump Bracket)

  • The power steering pump bracket for a passenger car which is mounted on the engine block plays a role to support the inertia forces of the pump and the reaction forces of the belt assembly. The existing bracket which is made of FCD material has some demerits such as heavy weight, lower productivity and lower reliability. Recently, AI alloy bracket has been investigated to overcome these demerits. In this study, Stress analysis and modal analysis for a existing FCD bracket and two type of AI alloy brackets were performed, and strength and natural frequency of them were estimated by using finite element method to accomplish the weight reduction. As a result, the modified shape of AI alloy bracket is proposed, and it has achieved the 45% weight reduction and the improvement of its strength and vibration characteristics.

  • 본 논문에는 무선 랜 기반 위치 추적 시스템을 이용하여 실내에 주차된 자동차 위치에 도달하기까지의 방향과 거리 정보를 제공할 수 있는 앱 어플리케이션 설계를 제안한다. 기존 WPS 기능에 삼각측량법을 더하여 정확도를 높이고 실내에 주차된 차량의 위치 관리가 용이하게끔 하는 것을 목적으로 두었다. 이를 위해 WPS와 전파의 세기를 이용한 삼각측량법을 적용하여 설계한 알고리즘을 제시한다. 프로그램 코드 개선 및 구체화는 해당 알고리즘을 가상 환경에서 구현하였다. 스마트폰의 동기화 센서를 이용하여 실시간으로 DB 서버를 접속함으로서 시간 차이로 인해 측정된 위치 정확성이 저하되는 문제를 보정하였다. 따라서 제안한 앱 어플리케이션은 GPS 통신이 불안정한 실내 및 지하에 주차된 자동차의 위치를 사용자가 찾아내는데 효율성을 제공할 수 있다.
