The proportion of digital evidence in criminal cases has increased, while at the same time, the spread of the Internet has made it easy to delete information that is stored in another place and thus, the Internet is being used to delete online criminal evidence. To respond quickly and effectively to cybercrime, 29 countries signed the Convention on Cybercrime in 2001 through the Council of Europe. Article 16 of the Convention relates to the expedited preservation of stored computer data and requires signatories to adopt legislative measures to enable its competent authorities to order expeditious preservation of specified computer data where there are grounds to believe that the data is particularly vulnerable to loss or modification. More than 60 countries have joined the Convention since 2001 and have made efforts to improve their legal system in line with it. The United States legislated 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f) to preserve electronic evidence pending the issuance of a court order. The German Code of Criminal Procedure §§ 94~95 allows prosecution authorities to seize evidence or issue production orders without court control in urgent circumstances. A custodian shall be obliged to surrender evidence upon a request that evidence be preserved, and non-compliance results in punishment. Japan legislated the Criminal Procedure Act § 197(3) and (4) to establish a legal base for requesting that electronic records that are stored by an ISP not be deleted. The Korean Criminal Procedure Act § 184 outlines procedures for the preservation of evidence but does not adequately address the expeditious preservation of digital evidence that may be vulnerable to deletion. This paper analyzes nine considerations, including request subjects, requirements, and cost reimbursement to establish directions to improve the legal system for the expedited preservation of digital evidence. A new method to preserve online digital evidence in urgent cases is necessary.

The exopolysaccharide botryosphaeran ($EPS_{GLC}$; a ($1{\rightarrow}3$)($1{\rightarrow}6$)-${\beta}$-D-glucan from Botryosphaeria rhodina MAMB-05) was sulfonated to produce a water-soluble fraction ($EPS_{GLC}$-S) using pyridine and chlorosulfonic acid in formamid. This procedure was then repeated twice to produce another fraction ($EPS_{GLC}$-RS) with a higher degree of substitution (DS, 1.64). The purity of each botryosphaeran sample (unsulfonated and sulfonated) was assessed by gel filtration chromatography (Sepharose CL-4B), where each polysaccharide was eluted as a single symmetrical peak. The structures of the sulfonated and re-sulfonated botryosphaerans were investigated using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), and $^{13}C$ nuclear magnetic resonance ($^{13}C$ NMR) spectroscopies. $EPS_{GLC}$ and $EPS_{GLC}$-RS were also assayed for anticoagulation activity, and $EPS_{GLC}$-RS was identified as an anticoagulant.
Three hundred rice(Oryza sativa L.) cultivars were screened for tolerance to butachlor [N-(buthoxymethyl)-2-chloro-N-(2,6-diethylphenyl) acetamide], thiobencarb(S-[(4-chlorophenyl)methyl]diethylcarbamothioate), and simetryn [N,N-diethyl-6-(methylthio)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine]. The responses of the rice cultivars to herbicides differed depending upon the herbicides and their concentrations. New Sabarmati(BAS), Gora, PTB 18 were tolerant to butachlor, and Azucena, IR44707-31-1-3-2, ARC 7293 to thiobencarb, while Gora, ARC 7293, and Dudmona were tolerant to both herbicides. Response of rice to simetryn differed from its response to butachlor and thiobencarb. Inhibition of shoot growth and fresh weight increased as the temperature and herbicide concentration increased. There was a higher correlation among rice cultivars response to butachlor and thiobencarb in the greenhouse when laboratory studies were conducted at higher temperatures.

Due to their slow degradation properties, hydrophobic organic contaminants in estuarine sediment have been a concern for risks to human health and aquatic organisms. Studies of fate and transport of these contaminants in estuaries are further complicated by the fact that hydrodynamics and sediment transport processes in these regions are complex, involving processes with various temporal and spatial scales. In order to simulate and quantify long-term attenuation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) in the Elizabeth River, VA, we develop a modeling approach, which employs the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's water quality model, WASP, and encompasses key physical and chemical processes that govern long-term fate and transport of PAHs in the river. In this box-model configuration, freshwater inflows mix with ocean saline water and tidally averaged dispersion coefficients are obtained by calibration using measured salinity data. Sediment core field data is used to estimate the net deposition/erosion rate, treating only either the gross resuspension or deposition rate as the calibration parameter. Once calibrated, the model simulates fate and transport PAHs following the loading input to the river in 1967, nearly 4 decades ago. Sediment PAH concentrations are simulated over 1967-2022 and model results for Year 2002 are compared with field data measured at various locations of the river during that year. Sediment concentrations for Year 2012 and 2022 are also projected for various remedial actions. Since all the model parameters are based on empirical field data, model predictions should reflect responses based on the assumptions that have been governing the fate and sediment transport for the past decades.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to characterize and evaluate the clinical significance of volume changes of soft tissue sarcomas during radiation therapy (RT), prior to definitive surgical resection. Materials and Methods: Patients with extremity or pelvis soft tissue sarcomas treated at our institution from 2013 to 2016 with RT prior to resection were identified retrospectively. Tumor volumes were measured using cone-beam computed tomography obtained daily during RT. Linear regression evaluated the linearity of volume changes. Kruskal-Wallis tests, Mann-Whitney U tests, and linear regression evaluated predictors of volume change. Logistic and Cox regression evaluated volume change as a predictor of resection margin status, histologic treatment response, and tumor recurrence. Results: Thirty-three patients were evaluated. Twenty-nine tumors were high grade. Prior to RT, median tumor volume was 189 mL (range, 7.2 to 4,885 mL). Sixteen tumors demonstrated significant linear volume changes during RT. Of these, 5 tumors increased and 11 decreased in volume. Myxoid liposarcoma (n = 5, 15%) predicted decreasing tumor volume (p = 0.0002). Sequential chemoradiation (n = 4, 12%) predicted increasing tumor volume (p = 0.008) and corresponded to longer times from diagnosis to RT (p = 0.01). Resection margins were positive in three cases. Five patients experienced local recurrence, and 7 experienced distant recurrence, at median 8.9 and 6.9 months post-resection, respectively. Volume changes did not predict resection margin status, local recurrence, or distant recurrence. Conclusion: Volume changes of pelvis and extremity soft tissue sarcomas followed linear trends during RT. Volume changes reflected histologic subtype and treatment characteristics but did not predict margin status or recurrence after resection.
For the treatment of reactive phenolic resin waste, a simulation model of pervaporative dehydration process has been developed through hollow fiber membrane module. Some of basic parameters were determined directly from dehydration of the waste liquid through a flat sheet membrane to get realistic values. The simulation model was verified by comparing the simulated values with experimental data obtained from hollow fiber membrane module. Hollow fiber membranes with active layer coated on inside fiber were used, and feed flew through inside hollow fiber. Feed flow rate affected membrane performances and reaction by providing a corresponding temperature distribution of feed along with fiber length. Feed temperature is also a crucial factor to determine dehydration and reaction behavior by two competing ways; increasing temperature increases permeation rate as well as water formation rate. Once the permeate pressure is well below the saturated vapor pressure of feed, permeate pressure had a slightly negative effect on permeation performance by slightly reducing driving force. As the pressure approached the vapor pressure of feed, dehydration performances declined considerably due to the activity ratio of feed and permeate.
Pervaporation-facilitated esterification with slow reaction regime was characterized by using a practical model based on non-perfect separation through membrane. A non-perfect separation in which the membrane is not perfectly permselective to water was applied to the model. Thus, membrane selectivity and membrane capability to remove water were included in the simulation model to explain how they influence the membrane-facilitated reaction process and improve the reactor performance. It was shown by simulation that in the reaction systems with non-perfect separation, reaction completion can hardly be achievable when any reactant at initial molar ratio=1 or the less abundant reactant at initial molar ratio>1 permeates through membrane, and the permeation of ester accelerates the forward reaction md increase reaction conversion at any instant through removal of product species like water. The volume change causes concentrating both reactants and products that affect the reaction with time in opposite ways; reactant-concentrating effect is dominant during the initial stage of reaction, increasing the reaction rate, and then concentrating product influences more reaction by decreasing the reaction rate.
The present study was aimed to examine the role of endothelium in the relaxant effect of hawthorn fruit extract of Crataegus pinnatifida in four different types of rat arteries, posterior cerebral communicating artery, right descending coronary artery, common carotid artery, and aorta. In $9,11-dideoxy-11{\alpha}$, $9{\alpha}-epoxy-methanoprostaglandin$$F_{2{\alpha}}$ (U46619)-preconstricted arterial rings except for aorta, the extract produced endothelium-independent relaxations with similar potency. This relaxation was unaffected by pretreatment with $100\;{\mu}M\;N^G-nitro-L-arginine$ methylester (L-NAME, the nitric oxide synthase inhibitor), $3\;{\mu}M$ 1H-[l,2,4]oxadiazolo$[4,2-{\alpha}]$quinoxalin-1-one (ODQ, the guanylate cyclase inhibitor), or $10\;{\mu}M$ indomethacin (the cyclooxygenase inhibitor). Putative $K^+$ channel blockers (charybdotoxin plus apamin or glibenclamide) did not affect the extract-induced relaxation in cerebral or coronary artery rings. In contrast, in rat aortic rings the extract produced significantly smaller relaxant response in endothelium-denuded rings than that in endothelium-intact rings. Pretreatment with L-NAME or ODQ abolished the extractinduced endothelium-dependent aortic relaxation, whilst indomethacin $(3\;{\mu}M)$ had no effect. The present results indicate that hawthorn fruit extract possesses a vasorelaxing effect in cerebral, coronary and carotid arteries and this effect is independent of the presence of a functional endothelium. However, the extract-induced endothelium-dependent relaxation in rat aorta was mediated through endothelial nitric oxide and cyclic GMP-dependent mechanisms, suggesting that active components in the extract may act on endothelium to stimulate release of nitric oxide in large conduit arteries of the rats.
Higher-mode vertical vortex-induced vibrations (VIV) have been observed on several steel box-girder suspension bridges where different vertical modes are selectively excited in turn with wind velocity in accordance with the Strouhal law. Understanding the relationship of VIV amplitudes for different modes of vibration is very important for wind-resistant design of long-span box-girder suspension bridges. In this study, the basic rectangular cross-section with side ratio of B/D=6 is used to investigate the effect of different modes on VIV amplitudes by section model tests. The section model is flexibly mounted in wind tunnel with a variety of spring constants for simulating different modes of vibration and the non-dimensional vertical amplitudes are determined as a function of reduced velocity U/fD. Two 'lock-in' ranges are observed at the same onset reduced velocities of approximately 4.8 and 9.4 for all cases. The second 'lock-in' range, which is induced by the conventional vortex shedding, consistently gives larger responses than the first one and the Sc-normalized maximum non-dimensional responses are almost the same for different spring constants. The first 'lock-in' range where the vibration frequency is approximately two times the vortex shedding frequency is probably a result of super-harmonic resonance or the "frequency demultiplication". The main conclusion drawn from the section model study, central to the higher-mode VIV of suspension bridges, is that the VIV amplitude for different modes is the same provided that the Sc number for these modes is identical.
Trifluralin (2, 6-dinitro-N, N-dipropyl-4- (trifluormethyl) benzenamine) was applied preemergent to soybean in plots drained or nondrained, in louisiana. Plots 14.6 ha were arranged to give 1683 g/ha of trifluralin. The half life of trifluralin in the top 15 cm of soil was 42.6 darts and f6.0 days in nondrained plot and drained plot, respectively. The concentrations of trifluralin in surface runoff water and subsurface runoff water were 0.62 ng/ml-0.02 ng/ml and 11.06 ng/ml-0.02 ng/ml, respectively. The concentration of trifluralin in runoff water was smaller than 2 ng/ml for trifluralin of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency advisory. Total loss of trifluralin in runoff water was 0.021 % of applied amount at drained plots during three month after application. Trifluralin was moved hardly in the water. Subsurface drainage -reduced trifluralin losses because concentration of trifluralin in the subsurface runoff water in drained fields was low.
