LES를 이용한 직사각형 개수로 난류흐름의 조직구조 분석 (Analysis of Coherent Structure of Turbulent Flows in the Rectangular Open-Channel Using LES)

  • 본 연구에서는 OpenFOAM에서 제공하는 소스코드를 이용하여 매끄러운 하상의 직사각형 개수로 흐름에 대해 수치모의를 수행하였다. 난류 해석을 위해 LES를 수행하였는데, 비등방성 잔여 응력항을 모델링하기 위해서 Germano et al. (1991)이 제시한 Dynamic Subgrid-scale 모형을 이용하였다. 조직구조를 분석하기 위하여 Lu and Willmarth (1973)가 제시한 uw 사분면기법을 이용하여 순간레이놀즈 응력이 레이놀즈 응력에 미치는 영향을 기여율과 시간비로 나누어 분석하였다. LES 모의 결과를 토대로 기존 실험 및 DNS 모의 결과와 비교하고 분석하였다. 매끈한 하상을 가진 개수로 흐름에서 완충층 이후의 구간에서 분출현상이 쓸기현상에 비해 레이놀즈 응력의 양의 생성에 기여하는 바가 크지만, 분출현상에 비해 쓸기현상의 발생빈도가 큰 것으로 확인되었다.

  • Mixing vanes have been installed in the space grid of nuclear fuel rod bundle to improve turbulent heat transfer. Split mixing vanes induce the vortex flow in the cooling water to swirl in sub-channel of fuel assembly. But, The swirling flow decays rapidly so that the heat transfer enhancing effect limited to short length after the mixing vane. In thi present study, the large scale vortex flow(LSVF) is generated by rearranging the mixing vanes to the coordinated directions. This LSVF mixing vanes generate the most strong secondary flow vortices which maintain about 35 $D_H$ after the spacer grid. The streamwise vorticity generated by LSVF sustain two times more than that split mixing vane. Heat transfer in the rod bundle occurs greatly at the same direction to cross flow, and maximum temperature at the surface of bundle drops about 1.5K

난류유동의 큰 에디 모사를 위한 아격자 모델 (On Subgrid-Scale Models for Large-Fddy Simulation of Turbulent Flows)

  • The performance of a number of existing dynamic subgrid-scale(SGS) models is evaluated in large-eddy simulations(LES) of two prototype transitional and turbulent shear flows, a planar jet and a channel flow. The dynamic SGS models applied include the dynamic Smagorinsky model(DSM);Germano et al. 1991, Lully 1992), the dynamic tow-component model(DTM; Akhavan et al. 2000), the dynamic mixed model(DMM;Zang et al, 1993). and the dynamic two-parameter model(DTPM; Salvetti & Banerjee 1995). The results are compared with those for DNS for their evaluation. The LES results demonstrate the superior performance of DTM with use of a sharp cutoff filter and DMM with use of a box filter, as compared to their respect counterpart DSM, in predicting the mean statistics, spectra and large-scale structure of the flow, Such features of DTM and DMM derive from the construction of the models in which tow separate terms are included to represent the SGS interactions; a Smagorinsky edd-viscosity term to account for the non-local interactions, and a local-interaction term to account for the nonlinear dynamics between the resolved and subgrid scales in the vicinity of the LES cutoff. As well, overall the SGS models using a sharp cutoff filter are more successful than those using a box filter in capturing the statistics and structure of the flow. Finally, DTPM is found to be compatible or inferior to DMM.

  • 본 논문에서는 이러한 연구의 첫단계로 Gosman과 Ideriah가 다룬 TEACH-2E전 산프로그램을 모체로 하여 본 논문의 문제에 적합하도록 수정하여 사용하였다. 그러 나 기본적인 k-.epsilon.난류모델은 수정하지 않았다. 한편, 본 논문에서는 열선풍속계를 이용하여 평균 속도분포 및 난류특성을 계측하고 계산결과와 비교하였다. 이를 통하 여 표준형 k-.epsilon.모델을 이용한 TEACH-2E코드의 특성을 파악하고 이를 위한 실험 데이터 를 확보하는데 중점을 두었다.

  • Numerical simulations and experiment of a hydrodynamic and thermally developed turbulent flow through square ducts (3.0 ${\times}$ 3.0 cm) with twisted tape inserts and with twisted tape inserts plus interrupted ribs are conducted to investigate regionally averaged heat transfer and friction factors. Turbulent swirl flows having Reynolds numbers ranging from 8,900 to 29,000, a rib height-to-channel hydraulic diameter(e/D$_h$) of 0.067, and a length-to-hydraulic diameter(L/D$_h$) of 30, are considered. The square ribs are arranged to follow the trace of the twisted tape and along the flow direction defined as axial interrupted ribs. The twisted tape has 0.1 mm thick carbon steel sheet with diameter of 2.8 cm, length of 90 cm, and 2.5 turns. Each wall is composed of isolated aluminum sections, and two cases of surface heating are set. The results show that uneven surface heating enhances the heat transfer coefficient over uniform heating conditions, and square ducts with twisted tape inserts plus interrupted ribs produces the best overall transfer performance.

후향계단 난류 박리재부착 유동에서의 대형와의 구조 (Large-Scale Vertical Structure in Separated and Reattaching Turbulent flow over a Backward Facing Step)

  • An experimental study was made of a large-scale vortical structure over a backward-facing step. The Reynolds number based on the step height was R $e_{H}$ =33,000. To recognize the large-scale vortex, three components of velocity were measured. The measurements were performed in the recirculation zone (x/H=4.0) and the reattachment zone(x/H=7.5). To measure the wall pressure fluctuations in a turbulent flow over a backward-facing step, a 32-channel microphone array was installed beneath the wall in the streamwise and spanwise directions. From the measured pressure field, the size of large-scale vortex was obtained. As a detailed study, a conditionally-averaging technique was employed to characterize the coherent structure of the large-scale vortex. To see the relationship between the flow field and the relevant spatial mode of the pressure field, the spatial box filtering (SBF) was examined. A cross-correlation between velocity and pressure fluctuations was performed to identify the structure and the length scale of the large-scale vortex.x.

자갈비산 메커니즘 연구를 위한 고속철도차량 하부유동 계측 (Track Measurements of Strong Wind under High-speed Train to Investigate Ballast-flying Mechanism)

  • To investigate the mechanism of ballast-flying phenomena by strong wind induced by high-speed trains, wind velocity in the vicinity of the track has been measured using 16-channel Kiel-probe array and detailed flow structure near the surface of the track has been analyzed. The position at which the underflow fully develop has been examined in order to assess the driving force of the turbulent flow under train and the results yields that the turbulent flow owing to the cavity of the inter-car as well as the friction force at the underbody of the train is the main reason of the strong wind under high-speed train. The preceding wind tunnel test results has been introduced to assess the probability of ballast-flying during the passage of the high-speed train by comparing the results from field-measuring. The results shows that when the G7 train as well as the KTX train runs at 300km/h, about 25m/s wind gust is induced just above the tie and the probability for small ballast under 50g to fly is about 50% when it is on the tie. If the G7 train runs at 350km/h, the wind gust just above the tie increases to 30m/s, therefore more radical countermeasure seems to be needed.

채널유동에서 질량분사에 의한 표면유동의 진동 특성 (Oscillation Characteristics of Turbulent Channel Flow with Wall Blowing)

  • 하이브리드 로켓 연소에서 발생하는 산화제 난류 유동과 연료의 기화로 인한 분출유동 사이의 상호 간섭은 매우 복잡하고 특별한 유동 간섭을 일으킨다. 이를 연구하기 위하여 연소반응을 제외하고, 산화제의 난류 유동과 연료 벽면에서의 분출 유동을 모사한 채널 유동에 대한 LES 해석을 수행하였다. 고체추진 로켓의 연소 과정에서 관찰되는 현상과 매우 흡사하게 벽면 근처에서 특정주파수로 진동하는 유동 현상이 존재한다는 것을 확인하였고, 산화제와 분출 유동의 간섭에 기인한 유동의 진동현상은 벽면 근처의 매우 얇은 영역에서만 존재하였다. 큰 길이 스케일의 유동현상을 보여주는 압력 섭동장으로부터 채널 내 주유동이 특정 주파수 특성을 갖고 하류로 진행해 가는데, 이는 산화제 유동이 분출유동과 상호작용을 하면서 발생된 전단유동의 특성을 나타낸 것이다. 그러나 하이브리드 로켓 연소실 유동의 진동 특성은 고체 추진 로켓에서 관찰되는 유동 특성과는 달리, 진동의 강도가 벽면에서 온도 구배를 변화시켜 열전달의 향상을 발생시키기에는 충분하지 못한 것으로 보인다. 그러나 벽면 근처에서 특정 주파수 특성을 갖는 유동현상이 존재한다는 사실은 비슷한 크기의 주파수를 갖는 음향 가진과 같은 외부교란이 작용한다면 공진으로 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 의미한다.

  • The common method to improve heat transfer in Nuclear fuel rod bundle is install a mixing vane in space grid. The previous split mixing vane is guides cooling water to swirl flow in sub-channel of fuel assembly. But, this swirl flow decade rapidly after mixing vane and the effect of enhancing the heat transfer vanish behind this short region. The large scale secondary vortex flow was generated by rearranging the inclined angle direction of mixing vanes to the coordinated directions. This LSVF mixing vanes generate the most strong secondary flow vortices which maintain about 35 $D_H$ after the spacer grid and the streamwise vorticity in subchannel with LSVF mixing vane sustain two times more than that in subchannel with split mixing vane. The turbulent kinetic energy and the Reynolds stresses generated by the mixing vanes have nearly same scales but maintain twice more than previous type.
