Implementation of the Optical Filter Using FBG (FBG를 이용한 Optical Finer 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose the FBG design using coupled mode theory based on perturbation theory. FBG can be used to extract the specific wavelength channel from the transmission ]me when many wavelengths are coupled in a multiwavelength transmission line. To analyze output characteristics of FBG and get optimum design data, we simulate through computer and verify by experiment. From the results obtained by simulation and experimentation, the proposed FBG fits for DWDM(Dense WBM) system because of the tunning narrow linewidth.

  • We argue that the combination of optimal control synthesis and QFT tuning enables design of controllers with levels of performance that surpasses what can be achieved using only a single technique. Using a constructive example, we demonstrate how the strength of each technique is utilized to arrive at a particularly desired controller in terms of tradeoffs between performance and controller complexity.

  • Servomotors are used as key components of automated system by performing accurate positioning, accurate speed regulation, and precise motion control in response to commands from computers and sensors. Especially linear brushless servomotors have numerous advantages over ball screws, timing belts, rack/pinion drives and friction drives compared with rotary servomotors. This paper proposes the estimation of unknown parameters from the linear brushless DC motor which is operated by sinusoidal commutation. The estimated parameters are used to tune the controller gain and disturbance observer. In order to agree with this purpose, Digital Signal Processor(TMS320F240), developed for implementation of a speed Field Oriented Control(FOC), adopted in this study. The processor playing an important role in controller has A/D converters, PWM generators, riched I/O port internally.

  • Sliding mode control(SMC) are carried out in this literature. And to make the controllers perform better, fuzzy logic was chosen,it makes PID controller auto-tuning parameters and reduced the chattering problem of sliding mode control. Since SMC take error and derivative of error as inputs, after comparison some results are obtained.PID controller response faster yet sliding mode control is much steadier. However certain problems cannot be ignored that the chattering phenomenal cannot be reduced entirely and this motion may hurt the machine; this project only considered a simple system, there is no guarantee PID can work as well as in this case for a much more complex system. MATLAB simulink was the main approach to obtain the performance of the two controllers: to observe the control output of the two controllers, electric circuit and special controllers are designed and tested in MATLAB.

  • The hybrid positon/force control is required when two or more robots perform a coorperative task in a uncertain environment, or when single robot does a task with a constant force to the environment. In this paper, a new control algorithm which control simultaneously the position and the force are proposed, however, especially the conventional position controller employed in the present robot control is used. Moreover, in order to improve the output response characteristics of the system, the PI gains which were computed from the PI gain tunning techniques, are varied based on the results of the Fuzzy algorithm.

  • Coordinated motion control of two arms of a dual-arm robot has been studied by many researchers, because of it's potential application in assembly as well as the handling of large and heavy objects beyond the capacity of single arm. This paper derives dynamic equation of a dual-arm robot, and describes some constrains to pick up a simply shaped object at prespecified position on it. This paper concludes with describing both PD and self-tunning control algorithm for the above task.

  • Dynamic characteristics of widely tunable SGDBR/SSGDBR laser diodes integrated with an electroabsorption modulator is inestigated using an improved large-signal timef-domain model. First, wide tunning properties of a SGDBR laser diode and a SSGDBR laser diode are analyzed respectively and compared with each other. And, intensity-modulation characteristics of a SGDBR laser diode incorprating an electroabsorption modulator are investigated. It is shown that an external modulation has the lower frequency chirp by 1/20 for almost same extinction ratios than a direct modulation, and a nearly transform-limited pulse train can be generated using the optical gating of an electroabsorption modulator.

  • An arc sensor for seam tracking is developed to automate sub-assembly welding in shipbuilding. We utilize a moving average method, which produces an effect of low-pass filter, to generate the position compensation. Therefore the sensor is able to modify the path of the weld seam in real time. By simplifying the compension process, the tunning time is reduced so that operators react quickly. It turns out that this sensor is highly reliable and it is installed and being used in SHI Keoje shipbuilding yard.

  • The proposed differential LC cross-coupled VCO is implemented in InGap/GaAs HBT process for an adaptive Global Positioning system(GPS) application. Two filtering capacitors are used at the base of output buffer amplifiers at the both sides of the core m order to improve phase noise characteristics. The VCO produced a phase noise of -133 dBc/Hz at 3MHz offset frequency from the carrier frequency of 1.489GHz and the second harmonic suppression is significantly suppresed up to -49dBc/Hz in simulation result. The three pairs of BC diodes are integrated m the tank circuit to increase the VCO Tunning range.
