국내 재래식 터널의 변상현황과 배면공동 보강 사례연구 (A Case Study on Deformation Conditions and Reinforcement Method of Cavity behind the Lining of Domestic Old Tunnel)

  • In this study, the whole deformation conditions of domestic old tunnels and reinforcement methods for deformation tunnels were investigated and analysed, and the present conditions, occurrence cause and reinforcement methods of cavity behind the tunnel lining were investigated and analysed comprehensively. The deformation causes of domestic old tunnels could be classified in three kinds : change of earth pressure operating tunnel ground, material problem of concrete lining, mistake of design and construction. As a result of analysis, the tunnel deformation was occurred by not specific cause but various cause As a result of investigation for 455 domestic tunnel data, more than 70% of the tunnel deformation was related to leakage and the other deformation cause also accompanied leakage mostly. An applied reinforcement method was related to leakage and flood prevention measures, but application of reinforcement method for boundary area between tunnel and ground and tunnel periphery which influence on the tunnel stability was still defective. The cavity of domestic old tunnel occupied about 16% of the total tunnel length and about 68% of cavity was located in the crown of tunnel, and besides, the occurrence cause of cavity was analysed to design, construction and management cause. The filling method for cavity using filling material was comprehensively appling to cavity behind tunnel lining.

축소모형실험을 이용한 공동지반에서의 터널 거동특성 (Behaviour Characteristics of Tunnel in the Cavity Ground by using Scale Model Tests)

  • 도로 및 철도의 터널 공사가 증가함에 따라 공사 시에 다양한 지반조건에서 터널 공사 단계를 진행하고 있다. 특히, 석회암 지역에서 터널 공사를 진행하게 되는 경우에는 대부분의 공동이 터널 계획구간에 존재하고 있는 실정이다. 하나 또는 그 이상의 공동은 터널의 안정성을 저하하는 것으로 예상된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 터널과 공동과의 상호 영향을 알아보고자 실내 모형 축소실험과 수치해석을 시행하였다. 실내모형실험은 터널과 공동 간의 거리에 따른 모형지반의 파괴하중을 확인하였고, 공동의 형상에 따른 파괴하중을 확인하였다. 실내모형실험결과 파괴하중은 공동과 터널 간의 거리가 0.5D 이내로 감소함에 따라서 파괴하중 역시 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 수치해석은 모형실험의 검증을 위해 시행하였으며, 실내모형실험과 동일하게 터널과 공동 간의 거리가 0.5D 이내로 근접하는 경우 터널의 안정성이 저하되는 것으로 확인되었다.

Influences of seepage force and out-of-plane stress on cavity contracting and tunnel opening

  • The effects of seepage force and out-of-plane stress on cavity contracting and tunnel opening was investigated in this study. The generalized Hoek-Brown (H-B) failure criterion and non-associated flow rule were adopted. Because of the complex solution of pore pressure in an arbitrary direction, only the pore pressure through the radial direction was assumed in this paper. In order to investigate the effect of out-of-plane stress and seepage force on the cavity contraction and circular tunnel opening, three cases of the out-of-plane stress being the minor, intermediate, or major principal stress are assumed separately. A method of plane strain problem is adopted to obtain the stress and strain for cavity contracting and circular tunnel opening for three cases, respectively, that incorporated the effects of seepage force. The proposed solutions were validated by the published results and the correction is verified. Several cases were analyzed, and parameter studies were conducted to highlight the effects of seepage force, H-B constants, and out-of-plane stress on stress, displacement, and plastic radius with the numerical method. The proposed method may be used to address the complex problems of cavity contraction and tunnel opening in rock mass.

석회암 공동이 터널의 안정에 미치는 영향 (Influence of limestone cavity on tunnel stability)

  • 석회암 지역에서 불규칙하게 발견되고 있는 공동의 규모와 위치를 표준화하여 터널에 미치는 영향을 수치해석적으로 접근하여 영향권을 설정하였다. 공동의 불규칙한 모서리 부분의 응력집중 문제는 해석의 한계때문에 타원형으로 모델링 되었다. 공동의 위치가 터널의 천단부와 하부 모서리에 있는 경우 가장 큰 영향을 나타났다. 굴착되는 터널크기의 공동이 1D (터널직경)정도 이격되어 있으면 안정성에는 큰 영향이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 터널과 공동의 이격거리가 0.25D (터널직경) 이내의 경우에는 변위 및 지보재에 미치는 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다.

A numerical and experimental study on the drag of a cavitating underwater vehicle in cavitation tunnel

  • For Super-Cavitating Underwater Vehicles (SCUV), the numerical analyses and experiments in a large cavitation tunnel are carried out at relatively large Reynolds numbers. The numerical results agree well with experiments and the drag coefficient of SCUV is rarely changed by the Reynolds number. As the cavitation number is decreased, the cavity occurs and grows, the cavitator drag decreases and the body drag is affected by the degree of covering the body with the cavity. The tunnel effects, i.e. the blockage and the friction pressure drop of the tunnel, on the drag and the cavitation of SCUV are examined from the numerical results in between the tunnel and unbounded flows. In the tunnel, a minimum cavitation number exists and the drag of SCUV appears larger than that in unbounded flow. When the super-cavity covers the entire body, the friction drag almost disappears and the total drag of SCUV can be regarded as the pressure drag of cavitator.

  • Determining the thickness if concrete lining and detecting of the cavity where is located behind tunnel lining plays an important role in the safety diagnosis of tunnel structure and the quality control. In this study, we made use of GPR and seismic method in order to find the cavity or flaw. Although GPR is very useful method in the concrete lining without rebar, it is difficult to detect the cavity in the reinforced concrete lining. We applied mini-seismic method to the reinforced concrete lining. The obtained seismic data was processed by means of seismic section in time domain and image section of power spectrum in frequency domain using Impact-Echo method as well. The proposed method can accurately show the location and depth of the cavity in the reinforced concrete lining.

주변 공동을 고려한 터널의 동적거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Behavior of Underground Tunnels with a Cavity)

  • 본 연구에서는 마제형터널 주변에 공동이 존재하는 경우에 대해 동적해석을 수행함으로써 터널주변의 공동이 터널의 동적거동에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 반무한 평면상에서 터널의 동적응답해석을 수행할 수 있는 해석기법을 개발하였다. 먼저 주파수 영역에서의 다층 반무한 지반내에서의 동적 기본해를 유도하였고 이를 경계요소에 적용하였다. 외부영역을 모형화한 경계요소를 내부영역의 유한요소와 조합하여 반무한 영역에서의 터널구조의 동적응답을 구할 수 있도록 하였다. 개발된 기법의 검증을 위하여 단층 및 다층 반무한 구조계에 대해 Ricker 파형을 이용한 동적해석을 수행하여 기존의 해석결과와 비교하였고, 개발된 기법을 이용하여 석회암층에 있는 터널에 대해 공동의 유무 및 터널과의 이격거리에 따른 터널의 동적거동을 고찰하였다.

2차원 공동 유동에서의 소음원 위치 판별을 위한 실험적 연구 (Experiments for the Acoustic Source Localization in 2D Cavity Flow)

  • This paper presents an acoustic source localization technique on 2D cavity model in flow using a phased microphone array. Investigation was performed on cavity flows of open and closed types. The source distributions on 2D cavity flow were investigated in an anechoic open-jet wind tunnel. The array of microphones was placed outside the flow to measure the far field acoustic signals. The optimum sensor placement was decided by varying the relative location of the microphones to improve the spatial resolution. Pressure transducers were flush-mounted on the cavity surface to measure the near-filed pressures. It is shown that the propagated far field acoustic pressures are closely correlated to the near-field pressures and their spectral contents are affected by the cavity parameter L/D.

  • 일본 JAXA가 보유하고 있는 Blow down 방식의 초음속 풍동 "RAMSYS"를 이용하여 스크램제트 엔진 연소기의 연소시험을 수행하였다. 시험결과로 Cavity가 없는 경우보다 Cavity를 장착한 경우에 연소압력이 높게 나타나는 것으로 확인되었으며 본 연구를 통하여 새롭게 적용한 zigzag cavity는 가장 높은 연소압력을 보여 스크램제트엔진의 안정적인 운영에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
