수치해석에 의한 TUBE-AND-PLATE형 응축기의 판 형태 및 입구 형상변화에 따른 유동 및 열전달 특성 (Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Tube-and-Plate Condenser with Different Plate Shapes and Inlet Geometries using Numerical Analysis)

  • Recently, a study on condensers for refrigerators has focused on new model which will cost less and will be more efficient. Some widely used condensers for domestic refrigerators are wire-and-tube type condenser, hot-wall type condenser, and spiral type condenser. Some companies which use the spiral type condenser at the moment try to develop a new tube-and-plate type condenser which will cost less and will be as efficient as the spiral type. As a standard condenser type, tube-and-plate type condenser is used in this study. A two-dimensional numerical model for the tube-and-plate type condenser is proposed, and the flow and heat transfer characteristics for several types of condensers are investigated.

  • Recently, a study on condensers for refrigerators has focused on new model which will cost less and will be more efficient. Some widely used condensers for domestic refrigerators are wire-and-tube type condenser, hot-wall type condenser, and spiral type condenser. Some companies which use the spiral type condenser at the moment try to develop a new type condenser which will cost less and will be as efficient as the spiral type. The new type condenser consists of a steel tube, steel plates and louver fins attached to the tube. The tube and the plate are bent into a single-passage serpentine shape.

냉장고용 판형 핀-관 응축기의 열전달 성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of the Heat Transfer Rate of the Plate Fin-Tube Condenser for a Household Refrigerator)

  • 본 판형 핀-관형 응축기는 기존의 냉장고에 적용돼오던 원형 핀 콘덴서보다 약 30 % 정도 가벼운 무게를 갖는다. 가벼운 무게는 곧 재료비 줄임을 의미하기 때문에 동일한 성능만 구현된다면, 관련 산업발전에 큰 영향을 줄 수 있다. 이러한 판형-핀 열교환기가 적용된 가정용 냉장고 응축기의 실용화 가능성을 조사하기 위해 실험적인 연구가 수행된다. 실험평가에는 원래 적용돼오던 원형 핀-관 열교환기를 포함하여 총 네 가지 유형의 열교환기가 사용되며, 실제 가정용 냉장고와 비슷한 운전 상태를 제공하는 정교한 냉매공급 장치가 이용되고, 각 실험 시료에 대해 열전달율과 공기측 압력손실 등이 정밀하게 측정된다. 실험결과, 판형 핀-관 열교환기의 열전달 성능은 기존의 원형 핀-관 열교환기보다 13% 이상 작은 것으로 나타났으나, 공기측 유로압력손실이 작고 단위질량당 열전달률이 우수한 것으로 나타났으며, 공기유속 증가와 유로 변경과 같은 최적화에 의한 동일 성능 구현의 가능성을 보여주는 것으로 나타났다.

평판휜-관 응축기의 수치 시뮬레이션 (Numerical Simulation of Plate Finned-Tubes Condenser)

  • A simulation program of the plate finned-tubes condenser widely used in the air conditioning system was developed. The program took into account the variations of the flow properties and fluid friction factor of refrigerant, and the heat transfer coefficients of refrigerant and air sides. The program was applied to a copper tube condenser which has outside diameter of 10.05mm, inside diameter of 9.35mm, length of 5.20m and three rows arraied staggered. Simulation results were such that refrigerant was super-heated state from the entrance to the 0.14m point, two-phase flow from the 0.14m point to the 4.10m point, sub-cooled state from the 4.10m point to the outlet. The degree of sub-cooled was $6.1^{\circ}C$. The variations of refrigerant quality, temperature, pressure, velocity, specific enthalpy, specific volume and air temperature, tube temperature were showed.

유도초음파를 이용한 복수기 튜브지지판 영역에서의 결함검출기법 (A Technique for Defect Detection of Condenser Tube in Support Plate Region using Guided Wave)

  • General condensers consist of many tubes supported by tube sheets and support plates to prevent the deflection of the condenser tubes. When a fluid at high pressure and temperature runs over the tubes for the purpose of transferring heat from one medium to another, the tubes vibrate and their surface comes into contact with the support plates. This vibration causes damage to the tubes, such as cracks and wear. We propose an ultrasonic guided wave technique to detect the above problems in the support plate region. In the proposed method, the ultrasonic guided wave mode, L(0,1), is excited using an internal transducer probe from a single position at the end of the tube. In this paper, we present a preliminary experimental verification using a super stainless tube and show that the defects can be discriminated from the support signals in the support region.

  • In this study, the heat transfer and flow field of condenser used on Kim-chi refrigerator is analysed with numerical method. Main objective is to present the base data for designing new condenser model with improvement of heat transfer performance. For CFD analysis, a commercial code, STAR-CCM+ was used. The water was used for the inner working fluid and the air was used for the outer fluid. The condenser type used in this study is a flat plate fin-and-tube heat exchanger. As factors for performance analysis, the effect of condenser geometry and air velocity was investigated. As a result, it has been observed that there is a suitable fin pitch with which heat transfer performance of condenser is maximized.

  • Computer simulation was conducted to study performance characteristics of air-cooled condenser of a double effect absorption heat pump with variations of saturation pressures and mass flow rates of the refrigerant ; volume flow rates, relative humidities and temperatures of the air The vertically installed condenser had the staggered tube array with continuous plate fins of wavy type. When the saturation pressure of the condenser was decreased from 760 torr to 20 torr, heat transfer rates and condensing rates of refrigerant were decreased. If excess refrigerant flows in the condenser, the pressure and saturation temperature of the condenser were increased which makes the refrigerating capacity of an absorption heat pump reduced.

As analysis parameters, the effect of condenser geometry and air velocity was investigated. For validation of the numerical calculations, the results were compared with the experimental ones. The heat transfer rates for both results were consistent with each other by maximum 5 % error. Based on this comparison, the numerical analysis was done with some modifications. As a result, it has been observed that there is a suitable fin pitch with which heat transfer performance of condenser is maximized.

  • 본 연구는 판형 핀-관 열교환기의 열전달 특성을 상용 CFD 코드인 SC/Tetra를 사용하여 해석한 내용에 관한 것이다. 해석조건은 입구속도 0.63 m/s, 튜브온도 $44.5^{\circ}C$이다. 해석 열교환기는 총6가지로 검토하였으며 각각의 온도분포와 유동패턴을 해석하고 판형 핀-관 열교환기의 열전달 특성을 비교 검토하였다.

  • The shell and tube heat exchangers were introduced to apply to a big capacity condenser and a high pressure feed water heater for power plant in the beginning of 1990s. Design and manufacturing technology fur shell and tube heat exchangers have been developed until now. But it is very difficult to calculate the expected performance characteristics of the shell and tube heat exchanger, because there are many design parameters to be considered according to internal structure and the shell side heat transfer mechanism complicately related to the design parameters. Design parameters to be considered in the design stage of shell and tube heat exchanger are shell and tube side fluids, flow rate, inlet and outlet temperature, physical properties, type of heat exchanger, outer diameter, thickness, length of tube, tube arrangement, tube pitch, permissive pressure loss on both sides, type of baffle plate, baffle cutting ratio. The propose of study is an analysis TEMA(Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) E shell and tube heat exchanger performance with changing a number of baffles(3, 5, 7, 9, 11) and tubes(16, 20) and determined optimal baffle spacing.
