본 연구에서는 비틀림 하중을 받는 U형 강박스 거더의 뒤틀림 거동을 해석적으로 분석하여 거더 내부에 설치되는 수직브레이싱의 각 부재에 발생하는 부재력을 산정하는 수식이 개발되었다. 편심하중 또는 거더의 곡률에 의해 발생하는 비틀림하중을 박스단면내 상대적인 변형과는 무관한 순수 비틀림 성분력과 박스 단면내 뒤틀림을 유발하는 뒤틀림 성분력으로 분해하여 뒤틀림 성분력과 이에 저항하는 내부 수직브레이싱의 상호작용 효과를 분석함으로써 각 부재에 발생하는 부재력을 비틀림하중의 함수로 도출하였다. 제안식의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 편심하중을 받는 단경간 직선거더 및 전경간 일정한 곡률을 가지는 3경간 거더 예제를 선정하여 3차원 유한요소 모델링을 수행하고 해석을 통해 얻은 내부 수직브레이싱의 각 부재력을 제안식으로 산정된 값과 비교 분석하였다. 해석 및 제안식으로 결정된 각각의 부재력은 높은 수준으로 일치함을 보였다.

A novel method to reduce the vibration of drum type washing machine is proposed. Recently, as the capacity of the drum-type washing machine gets expanded and its washing performance is improved, its market share is increasing in the whole world. But, the capacity of washing machine is limited because of door size and built-in washing machine size. The vibration of washing machine is caused by unbalanced cloths in high spining drum, and the displacement of tub is maximized at transient range about 3 Hz(180 rpm). Previous researches were concerned about steady-state vibration in spinning. In this study, concerned about transient vibration and the displacement of tub is decreased by using gyroscope system. Mutibody dynamic model of washing machine include gyroscope is designed and the vibration of tub have been reduced by 44.7 % over original.

The purpose of this study was to provide a guideline for the bathroom fixtures of the aged by examining current status. The study has been carried out by measuring physical size of 50 aged peoples over 65 years old and their bathroom fixture status. The results were revealed as follows; 1. The height of washstand is $0.46\~0.52$ time of person's height. Adequate height of wash stand is proposed as $74\~80$ cm. The height of current market available wash stand is very close to the proposed size. 2. The height of toilet is $0.23\~0.27$ time of person's height. Adequate height of toilet is proposed as $38\~41$ cm. The height of current market available toilet is also very close to the proposed size. 3. The height of bathtub is $0.26\~0.35$ time of person's height. Adequate height of bath tub is proposed as $45\~49$ cm. The proposed height is higher than that of current bath tub available in the market. However, it should be noted that the proposed height is the sum of bath tub it self and elevation during actual installation. As stated above, it is revealed that the physical dimensions of the bathroom fixtures in the current market are properly sized. However, to draw more practical guideline for the bathroom fixture, more studies including actual experimentation will be required in the future.

The ongoing attempt to classify and categorize Jonathan Swift's literary work, A Tale of a Tub, as either satire or parody has not only opened issues concerning authorial intent and a present voice but also surfaced questions as to whether Swift identifies with what he is criticizing, thereby becoming the subject he schemes to destroy in his own literary work. In addressing these critical problems, my paper questions the boundaries of genre and analyzes the Tale, not within the conventional terms of literary genre, but by applying Bakhtin's theory of the carnivalistic impulse to Swift's Tale. Rather than focus on finding the author or identifying a voice within the text, Bakhtin's literary vision of carnivalization allows a means of subverting all rules yet holding the work together to present a shocking experience for the reader. Within the Tale, carnivalistic participation includes the reader who at one point is given the detached position of subjective spectator yet eventually decrowns the reader as both a carnivalistic participant and object of the same ridicule and derision once used to judge others. In conclusion, the Tale is revealed as a mocking commentary on the efforts of human beings/participants/writers to ignore the carnival aspects of existence and attempt to elevate themselves to the privileged role of spectator/reader.

The cancellation of the output signal occur between output tubs have occurred place an electromagnetic interference and deteriorated the light efficiency of the neon tub. In order to prevent this problems, we have developed the modified electronic ballast for neon(MEBN). The MEBN have used a shielded line to the output and designated partly the half-bridge in the middle of the circuit. In an experimental results, this will be lengthen the life of the neon tub and obtain the effect which shields an electromagnetic wave to injurious to the people’s body.

Steel box girders have two webs and two flanges on top that are usually connected with shear connectors to the concrete deck and are also known as tub girders. The end diaphragms of such bridges comprise of a stiffened steel plate welded to the inside of the girder at each end. The diaphragms play a major role in transferring vertical and lateral loads to the bearings and substructure. A review of literature shows that the cyclic behavior of diaphragms under earthquake loading has not been studied previously. This paper uses a nonlinear finite element model to study the behavior of the end diaphragms under gravity and seismic loads. Different bearing device and stiffener configurations have been considered. Affected areas of the diaphragm are distinguished.

The structural unbalance mass and laundry are the important sources of the severe vibrations of automatic washing machines. In this paper, a mathematical model is developed for the dynamic analysis of the vertical axis automatic washing machines of pulsator-type. In the model, the rigid body motion of tub assembly is represented by six degrees of freedom and the dynamics of automatic hydraulic balancer is represented by one degree of freedom. The fundamental elastic modes of the tub shell and four suspension bars are also taken into account in the mathematical model, based on analytical and experimental modal analysis results. The 12 degrees of freedom equations of motion are derived by using the Lagrange's equations and the present dynamic model is evaluated by comparing the numerical simulation results with experimentally measured data.

The purpose of this study was to test the relationship between health status and bathing. Method: The population of this study consisted of females, above age 20 in urban areas in order to control the effects of extraneous variables, resident areas, gender, and age. Four hundred and twenty-eight (428) women were interviewed with a structured questionnaire. Medical Outcomes Study Short Form (SF)-36 Health Survey assessed individual health status. Bathingbehavior and attitudes toward bath have been measured with questionnaires designed by the authors. Result: The most popular bathing type was shower (46.8%). The preferred type of bath was related to health status. A common purpose of the tub-bath was relieving fatigue and hygiene, but the other purposes were different on the subjects health status. Persons with low health status took frequently tub-baths for health. Attitudes toward bath were related to health status. Women with low scores in physical health recognized more physical effects of bath than psychological effects or hygenic effects. Conclusion: Bathing included physical and psychological dimensions and was related to health status.

Process sequence design in sheet metal forming process by the finite element method is investigated. The forming of sheet metal into a washing machine container is used to demonstrate the design of an improved process sequence which has fewer operations. The design procedure makes extensive use of the finite element method which has simulation capabilities of elastic-plastic modeling. A one-stage process to make an initial blank to the final product is simulated to obtain information on metal flow requirements. Loading simulation for a conventional method is also performed to evaluate the design criteria which are uniform thickness distribution around the finished part and maximum punch load within limit of available press capacity. The newly designed sequence has two forming operations and can achieve net-shape manufacturing, while the conventional process sequence has three forming operations. This specific case conventional process sequence has three forming operations. This specific case can be considered for application of the method and for development of the sequence design methodology in general.
