  • Distributed key generation (DKG) with trustless setup is a cryptographic protocol that distributes Shamir secret shares of a private key to participants while keeping the actual private key hidden to the participants. Also, by extending it to a threshold signature protocol, digital signatures can be generated without construction of private keys. This paper proposes a recovery protocol maintaining trustless setup assumptions, in particular to the useful (1,3) share structure. The proposed protocol meets same levels of security requirements with DKG in terms of correctness and secrecy. The protocol can also enable delegation and revocation of digital sign rights for blockchain-based asset management.

  • Purpose - The main purpose of this study is thus to investigate the contingent effect of imitation strategies on firm performance in transition economies such as China, focusing on pure and creative imitation. Design/methodology - We conducted a survey targeting department heads of each company who have more than 10 years work experiences. We assessed that the ability to gain trust and to access information from high-ranking informants would be greater if the firms were from the same country - Korea - as the lead researcher. A total of 200 highly reliable samples were obtained, which could effectively explain the nine variables set in the study. Relevant hypotheses were tested using a hierarchical linear model (HLM). Findings - The findings suggest that SMEs' technology level also had a positive impact on performance. Firms with better technology had a positive impact on performance, irrespective of pure or creative imitation. This reflects the cases where many Korean SMEs entering China without high technology level lose their competitiveness due to Chinese firms' technology catch-up within a short period of time. Originality/value - SMEs that lack technology and know-how need to focus on pure imitation strategies. It is possible that SMEs can perform creative imitation, but it seems difficult under the current circumstances. Therefore, SMEs with limitations in technology and know-how should maintain their competitive advantage for a while, by maintaining their pure imitation strategy.

  • In the recent past enormous enterprise applications have migrated into the cloud computing (CC). The researchers have contributed to this ever growing technology and as a result several innovations strengthened to offer the quality of service (QoS) as per the demand of the customer. It was treated that management of resources as the major challenge to offer the QoS while focusing on the trade-offs among the performance, availability, reliability and the cost. Apart from these regular key focuses to meet the QoS other key issues in CC are data integrity, privacy, transparency, security and legal aspects (DIPTSL). This paper aims to carry out the literature survey by reflecting on the prior art of the work with regard to QoS in CC and possible implementation of block chain to implement decentralised CC solutions governing DIPTSL as an integral part of QoS.

  • Mobile wallets have been in continuous demand and developed over the past few years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several studies have examined user intentions and perspectives. This study develops a conceptual model combining behavioral factors with the technology acceptance model (TAM). The goal is to identify key factors that influence user's intention to adopt mobile payments. This study uses the TAM and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) models with additional factors. The additional factors are security, trust, facilitating conditions, and lifestyle compatibility. The study analyzes the results of a survey of 394 Saudi citizens conducted via an online survey. The results indicate that user attitudes and intentions are positively influenced by all of the factors. Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, lifestyle compatibility, and facilitating conditions are direct predictors of user behavior in accepting mobile wallet payments. This study provides an empirical contribution to the literature on mobile payment acceptance on the effect of perceived usefulness and lifestyle compatibility. The results demonstrate that about 26% of the respondents started using mobile wallet services because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors affecting Thai commercial bank users' behavioral intention towards QR code payment system via mobile banking applications. The researchers conducted the study based on quantitative research approach. Non-probability sampling method such as the quota and convenience sampling was applied as sampling technique. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed. The data was collected from 1,800 respondents living in Bangkok, who have had an experience with QR code payment system with the top-three mobile banking applications in Thailand. This study concentrates on confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling as a statistical tool to examine the data, model accuracy, and influence of critical variables. In addition, the researchers applied the first-order and second-order techniques to examine the relationship between constructs. Adoption readiness and perceived risk were second-order constructs. The results reveled that compatibility has an impact on attitude towards QR code payment. Moreover, adoption readiness, compatibility, attitude, and personal innovativeness are statistically significant that impact behavioral intention towards QR code payment. The strongest antecedents of behavioral intention were compatibility, attitude, adoption readiness, and personal innovativeness, respectively. Surprisingly, perceived risk and perceived trust do not statistically have a significant impact on behavioral intention towards QR code payment.

  • This study aims to identify variables, which have relationship to the information credibility toward brand trust. Other than that, this study also proposes a system dynamics approach method, where the time to achieve different credible information can be modeled efficiently and by using variable-oriented simulation methods. Data, which are used for testing, are derived from 400 questionnaires. Data for SEM are collected by using questionnaire and are processed using AMOS software to identify the result whether it is proper to determine the proper variables and the indicators, which will be processed in the simulation using Powersim. The result shows that, from six variables proposed, five are significant variables that support the information credibility. The value of information credibility has fluctuated in 10 years. The important aspect in business activity is a business strategy that incorporates marketing activities. Many companies are adopting green marketing practice to achieve a better business performance, so that information credibility factor is needed. Over the past few years, numerous industries in Indonesia have increased awareness toward green movement. Some companies apply the whole process of creating green products, while others only do so partially, but this is a good approach to green business development in Indonesia nonetheless.

  • This study measured the effects of fake news and propaganda on managing information on COVID-19 among the Nigerian citizenry. This study examined sources of information on COVID-19 available to the people, evaluated reasons behind spreading fake news, examined how fake news has affected the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, established the consequences of fake news on managing COVID-19 pandemic and as well identified ways to contain fake news at a time like this in Nigeria. It is a survey with a sample size of 375 participants selected using simple random technique. Instrument of data gathering was questionnaire widely distributed in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria using Survey monkey. Data was analysed using frequencies, counts and percentages, tables and charts. Findings revealed that people rely more on radio, television, and social media for information on COVID-19. Fake news is spread by people mostly for political reasons and intention to cause panic. In Nigeria, fake news has led to disbelief of the existence of the virus thereby leading to violation of precautionary measures among the citizenry and lack of trust in the government. Concerted effort on the part of the government is required to give public enlightenment on the danger of fake news. Also, directorate of anti-fake news should be established to censor and reprimand sources of fake news. People should always check source of information to confirm its credibility and be weary of sharing unconfirmed information especially on the social media.
