  • This study investigates the effect of serv-qual and reputation on customer loyalty through the trust of deposit customers in Micro Finance Institutions. The population was deposit customers at BMT distributed into 5 provinces of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and a survey was conducted from January 2021 to February 2022. The probability random sampling technique was used to select the final sample, and a total of 221 responses were collected using a questionnaire. Technical data analysis was done using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), supported by AMOS 22.0 program. The results showed that serv-qual and reputation have a positive and significant impact on the trust and loyalty of deposit customers at BMT. Customers positively and significantly impact the relationship between serv-qual and reputation on customer loyalty. The biggest contribution to loyalty was generated by the variable customer trust (0.399), followed by service quality (0.359) and reputation (0.166). Micro Finance Institution needs to improve the management of deposit customers by improving serv-qual, reputation, and customer trust and conduct comparative research between conventional financial institutions and other informal financial service institutions.

  • Purpose: This study compares Korean and Chinese consumers on the impact of customer equity on trust. Although there have been many studies regarding the impact of customer equity, most of them are limited to the retail and banking industry and mostly compare East and West cultures. Therefore, this study compares Korea and China within East Asia in the hotel industry. Research design, data and methodology: Based on reviews in the literature, this study explores different effects of customer equity on brand trust between Korea and China. To confirm the hypotheses, the research collected survey data from 186 Korean and 155 Chinese respondents. After confirming reliability and validity of measures, this study conducted a multiple regression to test proposed hypotheses. Results: The results of the study showed that all of three customer equities influences on trust positively in the hotel industry. Regarding comparing Korea and China, brand equity has stronger impact on trust in Chinese customers than South Korean customers, on the other hand, value equity and relationship equity had a slightly stronger positive effect in South Korea than in China. Conclusions: This study found significant differences between Korean and Chinese customers in the hotel industry. These results show that even two countries in the same region of East Asia, South Korea and China, are different. Also, this finding suggests that hotel management level should consider differentiating their marketing strategies for Korean and Chinese customers.

  • Sinonasal sarcoidosis in the head and neck region is infrequent. Its occurrence can be either isolated in combination with other systems. The literature reveals that the occurrence of sinonasal sarcoidosis without lung involvement is rare. In general, sarcoidosis is a chronic non-caseating granulomatous disease of unknown origin, often identified after biopsy. In this article, we report on a benign tumor of the face that produced a diagnostic dilemma, necessitating refinement of the surgical access and in toto removal of the benign tumor.

  • For effective response surface modeling during sequential approximate optimization (SAO), the normalized and the augmented D-optimality criteria are presented. The normalized D-optimality criterion uses the normalized Fisher information matrix by its diagonal terms in order to obtain a balance among the linear-order and higher-order terms. Then, it is augmented to directly include other experimental designs or the pre-sampled designs. This augmentation enables the trust region managed sequential approximate optimization to directly use the pre-sampled designs in the overlapped trust regions in constructing the new response surface models. In order to show the effectiveness of the normalized and the augmented D-optimality criteria, following two comparisons are performed. First, the information surface of the normalized D-optimal design is compared with those of the original D-optimal design. Second, a trust-region managed sequential approximate optimizer having three D-optimal designs is developed and three design problems are solved. These comparisons show that the normalized D-optimal design gives more rotatable designs than the original D-optimal design, and the augmented D-optimal design can reduce the number of analyses by 30% - 40% than the original D-optimal design.

  • In Vietnam, the desire to consume organic vegetables is increasing as people become increasingly concerned about foods that contain several chemicals and toxins that are hazardous to their health. However, numerous subjective and objective factors continue to influence customers' purchase intention and behavior, indicating that this market has not yet reached its full potential. The study analyzes the impacts of trust, price, and convenience on consumers' consumption behavior and frequency of using organic vegetables in Northern Vietnam. We surveyed 312 consumers in the region. After classifying the data, 178 participants have used or regularly used organic vegetables selected for further study. Next, the author applied SmartPLS software with version 3.3 to test the hypotheses and analyze the effects of the observations. The result shows that three main factors affect customers' organic vegetable consumption behavior, especially perceived convenience. This study contributes to the development of comprehensive policy mechanisms and regulations on product traceability. Furthermore, market management authorities must have a strategy in place to inspect the product quality of organic vegetable store chains regularly to build customer trust and support the growth of organic vegetable production and supply chains in Vietnam's northern region.

  • Background: The government should find ways to improve the effectiveness of the policies to control the incidence and mortality of the infectious disease. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the trust in the government's ability to respond to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) affects the quarantine and hospitalization rate, incidence and mortality rates of COVID-19 and quarantine rules compliance in each region of Korea. Methods: The subject of this study is 250 regions (si·gun·gu) in Korea, and the 2020 Community Health Survey data from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) was used for the trust in the government's ability to respond to COVID-19, quarantine and hospitalization rate and quarantine rules compliance. For the incidence and mortality of COVID-19 and community factors, data was obtained from KDCA and Korean Statistical Information Service. Path analysis was used to find out the degree of inter-variable influence, and community factors (socio-demographic factors, community health factors, and health behavior factors) were used as control variables. Results: The regional disparity in key variables showed that the late pandemic period cumulative incidence and mortality of COVID-19 were large, while the early pandemic period quarantine and hospitalization rate and quarantine rules compliance were small. Path analysis showed that when community factors were controlled, the trust in government was statistically significant in all of the late pandemic period cumulative incidence (p=0.024) and mortality (p=0.017), and quarantine rules compliance (p=0.011). Conclusion: This study revealed that the higher the trust in the government's ability to respond to COVID-19, the lower the COVID-19 mortality and the higher the quarantine rules compliance at the regional level in Korea. This suggests that when the government implements healthcare policies to control infectious diseases, it is necessary to consider trust to improve policy compliance and control the mortality of the disease and maintain high trust through several effective methods.

  • Stochastic Neighbor Embedding(SNE) is a probabilistic method of mapping high-dimensional data space into a low-dimensional representation with preserving neighbor identities. Even though SNE shows several useful properties, the gradient-based naive SNE algorithm has a critical limitation that it is very slow to converge. To overcome this limitation, faster optimization methods should be considered by using trust region method we call this method fast TR SNE. Moreover, this paper presents a couple of useful optimization methods(i.e. conjugate gradient method and Newton's method) to embody fast SNE algorithm. We compared above three methods and conclude that TR-SNE is the best algorithm among them considering speed and stability. Finally, we show several visualizing experiments of TR-SNE to confirm its stability by experiments.

  • This study explores the development process of an farmers' group in Asan City that now plays an important role in the development of organic farming of the region. While increase in income in general may be one of main purposes making farmers join or form a group, the farmers group in Asan, instead, has tried to form a cooperative of local organic farmers. In doing so, they experienced a lot of difficulties and leant by trial and error. As a result, the farmers' group has recently developed in terms of business and organisational growth. The growth is not merely due to the growth of organic food markets but also due to the strong internal ties and trust that made possible to expand into food processing as well as to do social and cultural activities fur the rural residents. It implies that trust and cooperative identity between farmers should be the most important thing to be locally embedded farmers groups in a specific region.

  • SQP method is one of the most important methods for solving nonlinear programming. But it may fail if the quadratic subproblem is inconsistent. In this paper, we propose a modified nonmonotone filter trust region method in which the QP subproblem is consistent. By means of nonmonotone filter, this method has no demand on the penalty parameter which is difficult to obtain. Moreover, the restoration phase is not needed any more. Under reasonable conditions, we obtain the global convergence of the algorithm. Some numerical results are presented.
