  • We investigated the quench characteristics in accordance with increase of turns number of trigger coil and shunt resistance of matrix-type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with $2{\times}3$ array. The matrix-type SFCL consists of the trigger part to apply magnetic field and the current-limiting part to limit fault current. The fault current limiting characteristics according to the increase of magnetic field and applied voltage were nearly same. This is because the application of magnetic field hasn't an affect on total impedance of the SFCL. When turns number of a reactor increased, the voltage difference between two superconducting units in the current-limiting part according was decreased. The resistance difference generated in two superconducting units was also decreased. Therefore, we confirmed that the differences of the critical behaviors between superconducting units were reduced by application of magnetic field. By this results, we could decide the optimum turns number of reactor to apply magnetic field.

  • Purpose: Myofascial syndrome is a chronic muscle pain caused by repetitive motions with stress-related muscle tension. This study aimed to investigate the validity and reliability of the evidence for diagnosing myofascial pain syndrome in trapezius muscle using a pressure algometer and surface electromyography. Methods: The experiments were performed using a total of 10 subjects, and the target locations were determined by means of a pressure algometer in the right upper trapezius muscle. The part with the lowest pain value as the trigger point and the part with the highest pain value as the non-pain trigger point were selected for measuring the locations. The median frequency and average frequency were measured in those locations with electromyography. To check the muscle fatigue, the upper trapezius muscle was moved up and down for 2 seconds at 5-second intervals in 30 seconds. The measured values were evaluated using the independent paired t-test and MannWhitney U-test. Results: The median frequency at the non-trigger point (13.7) was significantly higher than that at the trigger point (7.3). Furthermore, the mean frequency (14.7) at the non-trigger point was significantly higher than that at the trigger point (6.3). Conclusion: The results showed the correlations between the trigger points of the muscle pain and frequency analysis of surface electromyography. Thus, this study may be possible to use as a diagnostic tool for myofascial pain syndrome.

  • In this paper, we investigated the quenching characteristics of a superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with connection of $2{\times}3$ matrixes. This SFCL consists of the trigger part to apply magnetic field and the current-limiting part to limit the fault current. When the fault occurs, the magnetic field generated in the reactor connected in parallel was applied to the two superconducting units of the current-limiting part to reduce of inhomogeneous critical current behavior between the superconducting units. The quenching behavior of a superconducting unit in the trigger part was affected by the increase of turn numbers. This is because of the difference of current distribution between the inductance of the reactors and the resistance generated in the superconducting units in trigger part. We confirmed that the voltage differences between two superconducting units of the current-limiting part were decreased. This is because of the improvement of inhomogeneous critical current behavior between the superconducting units according to the increase of external magnetic field.

  • The matrix-type superconducting fault current limiter (MSFCL) consists of the trigger and current-limiting parts. The trigger part with reactors connected in parallel improves the quenching characteristics by applying the external magnetic field into the superconducting units. The current-limiting part with superconducting units connected in parallel and shunt reactors connected in series limit the fault current when the fault occurs. We developed the integrated reactor with the trigger and the current-limiting parts to apply high external magnetic field into the superconducting units. This was composed of a superconducting unit for the trigger part and two superconducting units for the current-limiting parts. We confirmed that the external magnetic field generated in the MSFCL with an integrated reactor was larger than that of the MSFCL with the separated reactors. So the differences of voltages generated between superconducting units were decreased in the difference according to the increment of the applied voltage. The whole magnitude of the SFCL was reduced because the volume of an integrated reactor could be reduced by one-third than that of the separated reactors. We confirmed that the critical behavior between the superconducting units in the MSFCL with an integrated reactor was more improved than that of the MSFCL with the separated reactors.

  • Skeletal muscles which are the largest part of human body may develop pain and dysfunction. The myofascial pain syndrome that has trigger points as a unique characteristic is a major cause of morbidity. Trigger points are focal, hyperirritable painful areas located in a taut band of skeletal muscle. They produce local area pain and a referred pattern pain and often accompany chronic joint dysfunction. Various modalities are used to inactivate trigger points in myofascial pain syndrome. Trigger-point injection has been shown to be one of the most effective treatment modality to provide prompt relief of symptoms. This review article presents general concept of myofascial pain syndrome and technique of trigger point injection.

  • Recently, various applications of location trigger service have been required and developed as users of location-based services are increasing. The location trigger is detecting event of entering in, existing in or leaving from pre-specified area, and then alerting by short message service, an e-mall or servicing other pre-defined action to mobile subscribers. The conventional methodology of supporting location trigger is detecting location trigger events as periodical requesting location of mobile communication terminal to location gateway server in mobile communication network. But these conventional methods cause mobile communication interruption when the location trigger services are overloaded; thereby inducing performance of core server to be fell off. So in this paper, we have studied a new location trigger technology, named multilevel location trigger, to reduce mobile core network sewer triggering bottleneck and power consumption caused embedded GPS device of mobile phone. Actually, as design and evaluating the performance of location trigger after building test-bed environment, we contribute toward improving echnology of location trigger.

  • Objectives : This study is to report the effect of Scolopendrid Pharmacopuncture on two patients suffering from the pain of popliteal part. Methods : We treated the patients with the pain of popliteal part by acupuncture according to meridian(Taeyang and Soyang-Meridian), and we injected 0.1${\sim}$0.2cc of Scolopendrid Pharmacopuncture to his pain site. And then we evaluated their pain by VAS(Visual Analog Scale). Results : 1. A combined treatment-Scolopendrid Pharmacopuncture and Acupucture- had a very excellent effect on relieving pain of popliteal part originated from trigger point and referred pain of Popliteus or Biceps Femoris. 2. It appears that Scolopendrid Pharmacopuncture is very effective against trigger point of muscle and pain site fixed.

  • According to many customers' requests, optical measurement module (OMM) applications using automatic measuring devices to measure the machined part rapidly on a machine tool have increased steeply. Touch trigger probes are being used for job setup and feature inspection as automatic measuring devices, and this makes quality checking and machining compensation possible. Therefore, in this study, the use of touch trigger probes for accurate measurement of the machined part has been studied and a macro program for a hole measuring cycle has been developed. This hole is the most common feature to be measured, but conventional methods are still not free from measuring error. In addition, the eccentricity change of the least square circle was simulated according to the roundness error in a hole measurement. To evaluate the reliability of this study, the developed hole-measuring program was executed to measure the hole plate on the machine and verify the roundness error in the eccentricity simulation result.
