  • There is a strong industrial demands for the development of light-vehicle to improve fuel efficiency. It is more effective to reduce weight of the parts directly driven by an automobile engine. So the saving in weight of wheels which is operated by an automobile engine improve fuel efficiency more than other parts. There are many step of sheet metal forming in fabricating automotive wheel, so that it is difficult to design process and tools of multi-stage stamping. Traditionally, design process and tools have depended on the experience of skilled workers and it has done by trial and error methods. However, it needs too much costs and time. Taguchi methods has an advantage of the number of required experiments and reliability compared with trial and error method. In this study, Taguchi methods and response surface methods are applied to design process and tools of automotive wheel. As a result, the principal variables are selected and process conditions are optimized.

  • The effect of a new treatment is proven through the comparison of a new treatment with placebo; however, the number of parent non-inferiority trials tends to grow proportionally to the number of active controls. In a non-inferiority trial a new treatment is approved by proof that the new treatment is not inferior to an active control; however, both additional assumptions and historical trials are needed to show (through the comparison of the new treatment with the active control in a non-inferiority trial) that the new treatment is more efficacious than a putative placebo. The two different methods of using the historical data: frequentist principle method and meta-analytic method. This paper discusses the statistical methods and different Type I error rates obtained through the different methods employed.

  • 현재 국내의 홍수예보시스템의 예측 모형으로 저류함수모형을 사용하고 있다. 저류함수모형은 계산절차가 간편하고 홍수유출의 비선형성을 고려할 수 있는 방법이므로 선형모형보다 합리적이라고 알려져 있다. 그러나 저류함수모형을 실제 홍수사상에 적용하는데 있어 매개변수를 결정하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 저류함수모형의 매개변수 보정을 모형 운영자의 주관적인 판단아래 시행착오에 의한 수동보정 방법을 사용하여 왔다. 본 논문에서는 홍수통제소에서 사용하고 있는 저류함수 모형의 대표(평균) 매개변수와 시행착오법(Trial & Error Method) 그리고 최적화기법(Optimization Technique)에 의해 보정된 매개변수를 비교 분석하였다. 또한 모의효율을 평가하기 위하여 목적함수별, 보정방법별로 평가지표들을 산정하고 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 최적화기법의 하나인 유전자 알고리즘(Genetic Algorithm)이 목적함수에 따른 변동성이 가장 적었으며, 목적함수로는 SSR(Sum of Squared of Residual)이 가장 적합한 것으로 판단하였다.

이산시간 학습제어 시스템의 설계법 (A Design Method of Discrete Time Learning Control System)

  • 반복 학습제어시스템은 시행을 반복함으로써 유한시간의 목표출력에 대하여 추종해 가도록 하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이산시간 시스템에 있어서의 이산 시간 학습제어 입력을 구하는 방법을 제안한다. 여기서 현재시행의 제어입력은 바로 전시행에서 입력 sequence와 time-shift된 error sequence의 선형조합에 의하여 구해진다. 컴퓨터로 제어되는 이산시간 시스템에서 error신호의 미분조작이 필요한 연속시간 Betterment Process에 비하여 error sequence의 time-shift조작은 보다 간단해지며 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 그 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • A general treatment is to restore abfraction lesions with dental filler materials to reduce stress concentration. A material should be selected from various dental products based on long term experiences of dentist or personal preference concerning filler methods. A quantitative criterion is necessary to make an evaluation of the results as dentists decide treatment methods and dental materials relying on their clinical experiences. The purpose of this study is to find an optimal restoration method and material for noncarious cervical lesions using the finite element method. An objective function was defined to minimize the sum of tension or compression stress. Trial-and-error and approximation were used to find an optimal restoration method. An optimal solution was to fill TetricFlow inside the lesion and Z100 in the remaining region. The most desirable thickness ratio of the two filler materials was 0.125 with trial-and-error and it was similar to the results of approximation, 0.121 and 0.132.

  • LEACHN은 식물체의 잔류물, 퇴비, 부식질의 세 개의 유기물원과 비료, 질산염, 암모늄의 세 개의 무기질원 그리고 식물체사이에서의 질소의 변화 및 이동을 관찰하는 모델이다. 2004년 5월부터 10월 동안 pot 실험을 통해 얻은 자료를 바탕으로 trial and error 방법과 PEST를 이용한 방법을 사용하여 LEACHN를 시뮬레이션 하여 국내 토양 내의 질소의 이동을 관찰하였다.

  • FLC has a good performance for complication system or unknown model by using human linguistic method but many part control design are based on expert knowledge or trial-error method and it is difficult to prove stability and robustness of controller. In this paper we improve this problem by setting fuzzy rules by dividing phase plane of error and rate of error change by switching surface. We can guarantee the stability in nonlinear system, and also in fuzzy PID type controller the complexity of controller design is increased by increasing the number of input variables and defining more range of operation if we want performance of more specific rules, thus we need to fine the method to decrease the number of control rules used in FLC design. In this paper the algorithm is validated by simulation using conventional FLC and proposed method.

Decision Support Tool for Excavation Operation using Genetic Algorithms

  • The appropriate fleet estimation of the excavation equipment is a major factor in the determination of the cost and time requirements of a project. But the decision of what kind of equipment selected is often based on heuristic methods or trial and error in Korea. Thus, this study proposes a prototype model that uses genetic algorithms to select fleet estimation of loaders (backhoe) and trucks used in excavation work. To verify the applicability of this model, the case study was performed. And the result of the genetic model was compared with that of the trial & error method. The use of the genetic model suggested this study required 44days, 2 units of backhoes, 7 units of trucks, and a total cost of 171,839,756 won. With the estimated fleet number of equipment, the minimum cost of excavation work can be calculated, taking account of the time-cost trade-off. By utilizing this prototype model, the efficiency of excavation work can be improved.

우리나라에 적합한 자동화 터미널의 운영시스템 모델 설계 (Optimized design for operating system model of automated container terminal in Korea)

  • 동북아 중심 항만의 기반을 다지기 위해 자동화터미널의 건설이 시급히 요청되고 있다. 따라서 우리나라에 적합한 자동화터미널의 운영시스템 설계방안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 자동화터미널의 운영시스템이 추구해야할 목표를 충족시키며 각 자동화 장비를 통한 화물의 수출입 이동경로에 따라 운영시스템의 기본 모델을 4가지로 구분하고, 여러 입력 요소들을 변경시켜 가며 Trial and Error 방법을 통하여 동적으로 분석해 나감으로서 최적의 운영시스템 모델을 설계하였다 본 논문의 운영시스템에서 기술한 장비들은 Quay Crane을 제외한 모든 야드 장비가 완전자동화를 전제로 한 것이다.

  • This paper presents the kinematics of a walking robot leg based on Jansen mechanism. By using simple mathematics, all trajectories of walking robot leg links can be calculated. A foot point trajectory is used to evaluate the performance of a walking robot leg. Trial and Error method is used to find a best combination of link lengths under certain restrictions. All simulations are performed by Matlab. Ground score, drag score, step size, foot lift, instant speed, and average speed of foot point trajectories are used for selecting the best one.
