As the need for telematics contents services due to the frequent traveling of people is increasing, it is necessary to provide various telematics contents by connecting and integrating current telematics contents which are collected and provided by each individual data provider. However, it is difficult to integrate or exchange the current telematics contents, because the data providers use different telematics contents models. Therefore, we propose a 'telematics contents gateway(TCG); system, which enables to integrate different telematics contents, so that the contents can be interoperable. The TCG can be a solution for several problems in the current telematics contents providing system. First of all, it has been impossible to search the contents without any information about data providers, because of the absence of metadata in the current systems. For this problem, TCG supports a search function based on a web-service technology. Second, TCG provides a common road network model for interoperability, and the model can be a solution to integrate different road network models into the common model. Moreover, integration algorithm for enhancing the correctness of integration will be proposed. In addition, it is designed by multi threads and multi queue structure. The TCG developed with C# on a windows system has been running and we verified that there was no information loss in the integration process. In addition, the speed of content integration and transfer satisfied the requirement of telematics services providers.
The new transit fare in the Seoul Metropolitan is basically determined based on the distance-based fare system (DBFS). The total fare in DBFS consists of three parts- (1) basic fare, (2) transfer fare, and (3) extra fare. The fixed amount of basic fare for each mode is charged when a passenger gets on a mode, and it proceeds until traveling within basic travel distance. The transfer fare may be added when a passenger switches from the present mode to another. The extra fare is imposed if the total travel distance exceeds the basic travel distance, and after that, the longer distance the more extra fare based on the extra-fare-charging rule. This study proposes an algorithm for finding minimum fare route in DBFS. This study first exploits the link-label-based searching method to enable shortest path algorithms to implement without network expansion at junction nodes in inter-modal transit networks. Moreover, the link-expansion technique is adopted in order for each mode's travel to be treated like duplicated links, which have the same start and end nodes, but different link features. In this study, therefore, some notations associated with modes can be saved, thus the existing link-based shortest path algorithm is applicable without any loss of generality. For fare calculation as next steps, a mathematical formula is proposed to embrace fare-charging process using search process of two adjacent links illustrated from the origin. A shortest path algorithm for finding a minimum fare route is derived by converting the formula as a recursive form. The implementation process of the algorithm is evaluated through a simple network test.
Travel time estimation under given traffic conditions is important for providing drivers with travel time prediction information. But the present expressway travel time estimation process cannot calculate a reliable travel time. The objective of this study is to estimate the path travel time spent in a through lane between origin tollgates and destination tollgates on an expressway as a prerequisite result to offer reliable prediction information. Useful and abundant toll collection system (TCS) data were used. When estimating the path travel time, the path travel time is estimated combining the link travel time obtained through a preprocessing process. In the case of a lack of TCS data, the TCS travel time for previous intervals is referenced using the linear interpolation method after analyzing the increase pattern for the travel time. When the TCS data are absent over a long-term period, the dynamic travel time using the VDS time space diagram is estimated. The travel time estimated by the model proposed can be validated statistically when compared to the travel time obtained from vehicles traveling the path directly. The results show that the proposed model can be utilized for estimating a reliable travel time for a long-distance path in which there are a variaty of travel times from the same departure time, the intervals are large and the change in the representative travel time is irregular for a short period.

Traction performance of a tractor varies depending on soil conditions. Sinkage and slip of the driving wheel for tractor frequently occur in a reclaimed land. The objective of this study was to develop a tractor suitable for a reclaimed land. Traction performance was evaluated according to soil conditions of reclaimed land and paddy field. Field experiments were conducted at two test sites (Fields A: paddy field; and Field B: reclaimed land). The tractor load measurement system was composed of an axle rotation speed sensor, a torque meter, a six-component load cell, GPS, and a DAQ (Data Acquisition System). Soil properties including soil texture, water content, cone index, and electrical conductivity (EC) were measured. Referring to previous researches, the tractor traveling speed was set to B3 (7.05 km/h), which was frequently used in ridge plow tillage. Soil moisture contents were 33.2% and 48.6% in fields A and B, respectively. Cone index was 2.1 times higher in field A than in field B. When working in the reclaimed land, slip ratios were about 10.5% and 33.1% for fields A and B, respectively. The engine load was used almost 100% of all tractors under the two field conditions. Traction powers were 31.9 kW and 24.2 kW for fields A and B, respectively. Tractive efficiencies were 83.3% and 54.4% for fields A and B, respectively. As soil moisture increased by 16.4%, the tractive efficiency was lowered by about 28.9%. Traction performance of tractor was significantly different according to soil conditions of fields A and B. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the traction performance of tractor for smooth operations in all soil conditions including a reclaimed land by reflecting data of this study.

This occurs when the unbalanced rotating body is inconsistent with the mass center line axis geometric center line. Wheelsets are assembled by a single axle with two wheels and a rotating body of a running railway vehicle. Owing to non-uniformity of the wheel material, the wear, and error of the wheel and axle assembly may cause an imbalance. Wheelsets will suffer the effects of vibrations due to the unbalanced mass, which becomes more pronounced due to the thin and high-speed rotation compared to the shaft diameter This can affect the driving safety and the running behavior of a rail car during high-speed running. Therefore, this study examined this unbalanced wheel using a railway vehicle multibody dynamics analysis tool to assess the impact of the dynamic VI-Rail movement of high-speed railway vehicles. Increasing the extent of wheel imbalance on the analysis confirmed that the critical speed of a railway vehicle bogie is reduced and the high-speed traveling dropped below the vehicle dynamic behaviour. Therefore, the adverse effects of the amount of a wheel imbalance on travel highlight the need for management of wheel imbalances. In addition, the static and dynamic management needs of a wheel imbalance need to be presented to the national rail vehicles operating agency.

A trial run of locally-developed tilting train has been in process on Chungbuk line since the test vehicle was first produced. For the system stabilization, interface verification among the systems including track, structure, catenary and signaling system, not to mention the rolling stock, is very crucial. In the area of wayside structure, the stability of track structure and train run shall be evaluated through the review of impact by increased speed by developed train on track structure. The study thus was intended to evaluate the impact on track while a tilting train is running the curve section, which is vulnerable to accelerated train speed. The analysis of tilting train test running the part of Chungbuk line and Honam line was conducted to identify the impact on existing track performance by tilting train. To identify the movement behavior of each part of track while tilting train, high speed train and traditional train (Mugunghwa and freight train) were running the existing line, wheel load, lateral wheel load, rail bending stress, vertical and lateral displacement of rail and vertical displacement of sleeper were compared and analyzed so as to evaluate the expected impact by tilting train for improving the train speed.

This paper proposes a 2-kW solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) developed by employing power amplifier pallets designed using gallium-nitride high electron mobility transistors, which is used in S-band military radars and to replace existing traveling-wave tube amplifier (TWTA). The SSPA consists of a high-power amplifier module, which combines eight power amplifier pallets, a drive amplifier module, a digital control module, and a power supply unit. First, the amplifier module and component were integrated into a small package to account for space limitations; next, an on-board harmonic filter was fabricated to reject spurious components; and finally, an auto gain control system was designed for various duty ratios because recent military radar systems are all active phase radars using the pulse operation mode. The developed SSPA exhibited a max gain of 48 dB and an output power ranging between 63-63.6 dBm at a frequency band of 3.1 to 3.5 GHz. The auto gain control function showed that the output power is regulated around 63 dBm despite the fluctuation of the input power from 15-20 dBm. Finally, reliability of the developed system was verified through a temperature environment test for nine hours at high (55 ℃) / low (-40℃) temperature profile in accordance with military standard 810. The developed SSPA show better performance such as light weight, high output, high gain, various safety function, low repair cost and short repair time than existing TWTA.

Variation of soil properties is studied by permeating injection of chemical grouts, such as cement type, water-glass type and acrylamide type, to the same soil samples with different densities. Moreover, injection tests using specially prepared equipments of 1.0 shot system and 1. 5 shot system are attempted to investigate permeating injection effects in highly compacted soil and in the presence of ground water. The main factor which causes the improvement of cut-off effect and shearing strength is the cohesion of soil. The strength in the loose state is fundamentally governed by the membrane cohesion, meanwhile, in the loose state is governed by the structural cohesion. Injection effects under the ground water flow is considerably decreased, and effective gelling ratio of approximate 45~80% is observed by variation of velocity and gel time, besides grading of injection materials has high relation with permeation and traveling length but has little relation with effective gelling ratio. Permeating injection effects, such as gelling scope, gelling strength in highly compaoted soil conditions can be confirmed by penetration resistance diagram and iso-strength curve.

Researches regarding measurement and control of the dynamic behavior of liquid such as sloshing have been actively on undertaken in various engineering fields. Liquid vibration is being measured in the study of tuned liquid dampers(TLDs), which attenuates wind motion of buildings even in building structures. To overcome the limitations of existing wave height measurement sensors, a method of measuring liquid vibration in a TLD using a laser Doppler vibrometer(LDV) and galvanometer scanner is proposed in this paper: the principle of measuring speed and displacement is discussed; a system of multi-point measurement with a single point of LDV according to the operating principles of the galvanometer scanner is established. 4-point liquid vibration on the TLD is measured, and the time domain data of each point is compared with the conventional video sensing data. It was confirmed that the waveform is transformed into the traveling wave and the standing wave. In addition, the data with measurement delay are cross-correlated to perform singular value decomposition. The natural frequencies and mode shapes are compared using theoretical and video sensing results.
This study proposes a new convergence weapon system that combines the covert placement and detection abilities of a self-propelled mobile mine with the rapid tracking and attack abilities of supercavitating rocket torpedoes. This innovative system has been designed to counter North Korea's new underwater weapon, 'Haeil'. The concept behind this convergence weapon system is to maximize the strengths and minimize the weaknesses of each weapon type. Self-propelled mobile mines, typically placed discreetly on the seabed or in the water, are designed to explode when a vessel or submarine passes near them. They are generally used to defend or control specific areas, like traditional sea mines, and can effectively limit enemy movement and guide them in a desired direction. The advantage that self-propelled mines have over traditional sea mines is their ability to move independently, ensuring the survivability of the platform responsible for placing the sea mines. This allows the mines to be discreetly placed even deeper into enemy lines, significantly reducing the time and cost of mine placement while ensuring the safety of the deployed platforms. However, to cause substantial damage to a target, the mine needs to detonate when the target is very close - typically within a few yards. This makes the timing of the explosion crucial. On the other hand, supercavitating rocket torpedoes are capable of traveling at groundbreaking speeds, many times faster than conventional torpedoes. This rapid movement leaves little room for the target to evade, a significant advantage. However, this comes with notable drawbacks - short range, high noise levels, and guidance issues. The high noise levels and short range is a serious disadvantage that can expose the platform that launched the torpedo. This research proposes the use of a convergence weapon system that leverages the strengths of both weapons while compensating for their weaknesses. This strategy can overcome the limitations of traditional underwater kill-chains, offering swift and precise responses. By adapting the weapon acquisition criteria from the Defense force development Service Order, the effectiveness of the proposed system was independently analyzed and proven in terms of underwater defense sustainability, survivability, and cost-efficiency. Furthermore, the utility of this system was demonstrated through simulated scenarios, revealing its potential to play a critical role in future underwater kill-chain scenarios. However, realizing this system presents significant technical challenges and requires further research.
