Analysis of Driver Injuries Caused by Frontal Impact during Abnormal Driver Position (비정상 상태 운전 시 정면충돌에서의 상해 분석)

  • Recently, the driver can be assisted by the advanced active safety devices such as ADAS from road traffic risks. With this system, driver and passenger may freed from can driving tasks or kept eyes on forward direction while on the road. Help from adoptive cruise control, auto parking and newly develped automated driving vehicles technologies, the driver positions will vary significantly from the current standard driver position during the travel time. On this hypothesis, the objective of this study is analyze the behavior and injuries of drivers in the event of frontal impact under these abnormal driver position. Based on the KNCAP frontal impact testing method, this simulation matrix was set-up with dummies of 5 th tile female Hybrid III dummy and 50 th tile male Hybrid III dummy. The small sedan type passenger car was modeled in this simulation. The series of simulation was performed to compare the injuries and behaviour of each dummy, varying the seating status and seat position of each dummy.

A Technique of the Accurate Estimation for the Earthquake Parameters Using a Single Station of 3-component (세 성분 단일 관측을 이용해서 지진 인자의 정확한 산출을 위한 기술)

  • In this study, hypocentor parameters of some local and regional earthquakes and explosions, including focal depth and origin time, were redetermined by using a single station of three-component. We attempt to do the job by the combination of polarization analyses, by which azimuths and trial epicenters of earthquakes can be figured out, and a layered constant velocity model, on the basis of which theoretical travel times can be computed to match a series of input seismic phases of the event. Magnitudes were determined by using coda duration. Results, which correspond to the least misfit, showed that the average focal depth of all earthquakes in this study is around 15km, which fits well to that by investigation (Kang and Choi, 1993).

Distribution Characteristic Analysis for Link Travel Time Using GPS Data (GPS 수집자료를 이용한 링크통행시간 분포 특성 분석)

  • 지금까지의 링크통행시간에 대한 연구는 개별 차량의 평균을 통한 평균링크통행시간 산정 및 추정의 제한적인 연구가 대부분이었다. 그러나, 링크통행시간은 교통조건, 신호운영조건, 도로조건 등 다양한 영향인자로 인해 통행시간 분포가 구분되는 특성을 나타낸다. 따라서, 링크통행시간 특성을 좀 더 미시적으로 분석할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 GPS를 이용한 실시간 교통자료 수집의 방법에 대해 살펴보았으며, GPS를 이용한 RTK 측량을 이용한 실시간 자료수집을 통하여 링크통행시간에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 또한, 신호운영에 의한 영향으로 인한 링크통행시간 분포특성을 분석하기 위해 링크통행시간에 대한 현장조사를 추가적으로 실시하였다. 현장조사 결과분석을 통해 통행시간 분포특성 및 원인을 분석하고 프로그램을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 보다 다양한 조건을 부여하여 링크통행시간분포비율에 영향을 주는 변수들에 대한 검토하고 통행시간 분포비율을 추정할 수 있는 모형을 구축하였다. GPS 실험차량을 이용한 주행실험결과를 분석한 결과 순행시간으로만 이루어지는 링크통행시간과 적색시간 동안 대기하였다가 링크구간을 통과하여 순행시간에 신호 대기시간을 더한 링크통행시간으로 통행시간이 구분되는 현상을 확인할 수 있었으며 따라서, 링크통행시간에 대한 분석은 통행시간을 하나의 평균통행시간으로 인식하는 것보다 두 개의 구분된 통행시간을 동시에 고려하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 판단되었다. 링크통행시간 분포특성에 대한 연구결과 또한, 통행시간이 양분되어 분포하는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서, 링크통행시간의 경우 평균통행시간에 의한 결과보다 신호지체가 발생하지 않는 통행시간과 신호지체가 발생하는 통행시간으로 구분하는 것이 교통상황을 인식하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 나타났다.

  • Rippability refers to the ease of excavation by construction equipment. Since it is related to rock quality in terms of hardness and fracture density, which may be measured by seismic refraction surveys, correlations have been made between rippability and seismic P wave velocities. The 1-channel signal enhancement seismograph(Bison, Model 1570C) was used to measure travel time of the seismic wave through the ground, from the source to the receiver. The seismic velocity measurement was conducted with 153 lines at 5 rock slopes of Chungbuk Youngdong area. Schmidt rebound hardness test were conducted with 161 points on rock masses and the point load test also on 284 rock samples. The uniaxial compressive strength and seismic wave velocity of 60 rock specimens were measured in laboratory. These data were used to evaluate the rock quality of 5 rock slopes.

  • Kimchi is traditionally fermented Korea dish Which holds the sprits of the Korean people within and is valued cultually. As a local autonomy has grown in Korea, tourism industry has been during the last decade promoted aggressively in the local government. As a result tourism has been on of the fatest growing industries in the resent years. In particular, the utilization of cultural tourism resources such as regional festivals have become very popular everywhere. It is important to develop and use cultural aseets as tourism resources. The festival has turned into regional ones catering to local residents and festivals are being promoted as international tourist sites to attract foreign tourists as wellas introduce the nation's rich cultural heritage abroad. Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture and Sports has provided support in cultivation regional culturals as international tourist attractions. It taken has into account a trend in the worldwide travel industry for people to participate and experience the culture unique to their traveling destination rather than particilate in for Conventional sightseeing tours. This study result indicated that more people know the name of events the more people join the events. The reason of not joining events are a shortage of time and information, and unsatisfactory programs etc. They get some information from TV or radio. There are some different opinions among the groups which related to events. The four factors extracted from the factor analysis. But the groups don't have different needs and objectves. in the future study, it is important to investigate the tourists' needs and wants for events and to reflect.

A Study on Job Satisfaction levels Among Employed Women; comparison Between Married and single women (취업여성의 직업만족도 연구)

  • This study examined job satisfaction levels between employed single women and employed married women. The specific objectives of this study were; (1) to investigate differences in the level of job satisfaction between employed single women and employed married women; (2)to investigate the factors which influence the level of job satisfaction; (3)to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and life satisfaction. the data used in this study included 441 working women from 290 (65.8 %) single women and 151 (34.2%) married women. Statistical analyses were conducted using frequencies, percentiles, mean , t-test , ANOVA, pearson's correlation and a stepwise multiple regression. The major findings were ; (1) at the P<.005 level, there was a significant difference in the job Satisfaction Index (JSI) between employed single and married women by using the t-test ; (2) Occupation, type of organization , job experiences, travel time from home to work. unionization, age, and health status were significantly related to the JSI by using the one-way ANOVA; (3) Thee was an interaction effect between income and marital status on the JSI, and between education and marital status on the JSI; (4) Using a stepwise multiple regression method, the order of variables as they were entered in the model were different between employed single and married women; (5) There was a positive relationship between the JSI and Life Satisfaction Index(r=.41)

  • Recently, in our society, the use of smartphones has been widespread and changed our lives positively; however, the excessive use of smartphones has also produced many side effects. In particular, we can see that the reckless use of smartphones has constantly increased smartphone addiction propensities. University students, too, show smartphone addiction propensities more and more gradually; therefore this study intends to perform research related with smartphone addiction propensities with university students as the subjects. Since it is more and more important to perform leisure activities to prevent smartphone addiction and reduce addiction propensities, it can be said that the research on the correlation between leisure activities and smartphone addiction propensities is significant. The major findings of the research are as follows: First, among the smartphone addiction propensities, their tolerance and disturbance of adaptive function were relatively higher than other factors. Second, overall smartphone addiction affects the variables of gender (male), school year (freshmen), economic leisure constraints, time leisure constraints, and the adequacy of travel behavior, sports behavior, media use behavior, reading behavior, volunteer work and religious behavior. The adequacy of the media use behavior variables showed the greatest impact.

  • On curved rail, the speed of train must be reduced in order to keep riding comfort. So, the train has the speed limitation in conventional railway line. But if the train has the tilting mechanism, the speed of train is able to be increased while maintaining the riding comfort. Generally, the tilting train is faster than the non-tilting train about 30% in curve. The tilting train technology and reduction of travel time has been carefully investigated by KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute). Based on the primary research result from KRRI, tilting control system and tilting operation interlace are considered its core technology to apply tilting train to Korean conventional railway. In this paper application of non-tilting pantograph to tilting system will be introduced. New type of bogie frame and system modification of vehicle are invented to apply non-tilting pantograph to tilting train.

It is evolving as a killer application device of Car Infotainment (Information & Entertainment). On the other hand, the technical barrier which is pushing into the market is low and the competition is intense in process of time. In the market situation, the design differentiation is embossed with important element. In this case study, focused on inkel which specialized in Audio/Video launching into the Car Navigation market with the new brand 'WideTouch', we tried to provide successful product design strategy based on proactive research on the market for the design differentiation through the target segmentation of the new generation, middle-aged and a woman consumer.

Numerical Verification of B-WIM System Using Reaction Force Signals

  • Bridges are ones of fundamental facilities for roads which become social overhead capital facilities and they are designed to get safety in their life cycles. However as time passes, bridge can be damaged by changes of external force and traffic environments. Therefore, a bridge should be repaired and maintained for extending its life cycle. The working load on a bridge is one of the most important factors for safety, it should be calculated accurately. The most important load among working loads is live load by a vehicle. Thus, the travel characteristics and weight of vehicle can be useful for bridge maintenance if they were estimated with high reliability. In this study, a B-WIM system in which the bridge is used for a scale have been developed for measuring the vehicle loads without the vehicle stop. The vehicle loads can be estimated by the developed B-WIM system with the reaction responses from the supporting points. The algorithm of developed B-WIM system have been verified by numerical analysis.
