유한 대수의 다종 수송수단을 고려한 동적 생산-수송 모형 (A Dynamic Production and Transportation Model with Finite Number of Multiple Transportation Modes)

  • This study deals with the single-product production and transportation model with dynamic demand over finite time horizon, in which the optimal production(order) quantities, transportation modes and the number of each vehicles are determined simultaneously. The finite number of identical vehicles with capacity constraint is given to each mode. Production and transportation costs are assumed to be concave function for generality. For a relevant mathematical model formulated, the theorems and properties are discussed to present the efficient algorithm. A numerical example is solved to illustrate the algorithm developed.

부산지역 도시교통체계의 개선방안에 관한 연구 (Improvement on the Urban Transportation System in Pusan Area)

  • Most of Cities are suffering from the traffic congestion problem with the vehicles increased. Especially, the City of Pusan is experiencing the severest traffic congestion with the lower read capacity and the higher travel demand than any other cities in the country. Thus, the purpose of this study was to grasp the conditions, review the problems and finally suggest the improvements which we faced at this time for the construction of the Urban Transportation System considered in Pusan area. Based upon the results, it was concluded that firstly the Urban Transportation System(UTS) in Pusan area should be constructed by the Public Transportation System in the center of the Public Transit Modes(i.e., bus and subway), secondly the Para-transit Modes(i.e., Light Rail Transit, LRT) introduced, and thirdly the Transportation Demand Management(TDM) implemented with the expansion of the transportation facilities if possible.

Challenges of Transport Sector in India: A Dyadic Perspective

  • The objective of this research is to explore the diverse challenges faced by the customer as well transport providers through the selected modes of transportation of the second most populous country in the world - India. Two separate well-structured questionnaires administered to garner the opinions on different challenges. A random sample of 100 equally selected from the customers of 3 modes of transportation along with 30 transport providers. The collected data was analyzed in Microsoft Excel and R Studio platforms using Percentile Rank Tool and R Programming Language for Chi-square test respectively. Traffic congestion coupled with parking is the major problem in case of roadways while Safety and cleanliness in railways are the first amongst the problems to reckon with. High fares and lack of trained employees are the biggest challenges faced by aviation industry. The research is concentrated only in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in India with most widely used three modes of transportation viz., Road, Rail and Airways. This research paper is first of its kind which has collected the opinions of both customers as well transport providers on the problems faced. This research proffers information about the challenges faced by the customers which there will be an enormous possibility to review their strategies and plans.

  • 1990년대 초반에 들어 우리나라에서는 녹색교통정책이라는 새로운 패러다임이 상당히 빠른 속도로 도입되어 왔다. 이러한 배경에는 도입될 수 밖에 없는 교통상황도 존재했지만 동시에 시민참가의 하나로서 녹색교통운동을 전개해 온 시민단체들의 영향도 컸었던 것을 부인할 수 없다. 하지만 그 영향에 비해 관련 시민단체의 운동에 대한 정리와 평가 및 향후 탐가 방향에 대한 연구는 거의 없었다. 따라서 이 글에서는 첫째, 한국에서 녹색교통운동이 일어나게 된 사회경제적, 문화적, 정치적 배경에 대해서 고찰함을 통하여 녹색교통정책이 빠른 속도로 도입된 이유를 규명하며, 두 번째, 녹색교통운동의 추진과정을 고찰함으로서 녹색교통운동의 성과를 평가하고, 끝으로, 한국도시에서의 지속가능한 교통정책의 하나로서 녹색교통정책이 정착되기 위한 선결과제 및 추진전략을 제시하고자 하였다.

Gender Differences in Influence of Socio-demographic Characteristics on Mode Choice in India

  • The study aims to investigate differences between men and women in influence of various socio-demographic factors on choice of mode of transport. For this purpose, a binary logit model of choice probabilities is implemented on survey data of a developing country city. Results indicate women's choice of travel mode to be more environment-friendly than that of men. Well-educated, working and middle-aged individuals appear to be the most likely to choosing more-polluting modes of transport for frequent travelling purposes. Individuals in the sample who are the least socioeconomically well off are found the most likely to be promising for the environment. The findings of this study suggest the future transportation policies toward development of existing infrastructure of greener modes of transportation in the city such as, public transportation services and pedestrian lanes, so as to manage the rising issues of degrading environmental quality. The study highlights how the consideration and inclusion of socio-demographic factors is crucial for policy recommendation regarding curtailing the environmental damages contributed by transportation sector. Because mobility crucially affects all other indicators of empowerment, and women are the ones using green modes extensively, the city's transportation system should be so developed which gives their safety and security due importance.

환승센터의 두 수단간 환승거리의 상대적 적정성 평가 (A model of a relative evaluation of the transfer distance between two modes)

  • 환승센터의 계획이나 개선시 제일 먼저 부딧히는 문제의 하나는 어느 수단을 얼마나 가깝게 위치시켜야 하는가 하는 것이다. 이때의 목표는 중심 수단을 이용하는 승객이 가능한 한 최단거리를 걸어서 다른 수단으로 연결될 수 있게 하는 것이다. 이 문제가 결정되고 난 후에 라야 연결 통로에 대한 서비스 수준을 향상시키는 문제를 제기할 수 있다. 물리적인 접근 거리가 너무 긴 경우 개별 통로의 서비스수준을 아무리 높여도 전체적인 환승만족도가 일정수준이상 향상되기 어렵기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 한 수단의 도착지에서 다른 수단의 출발지까지의 전 과정 (환승패스)을 외부보도구간, 계단구간, 실내통로구간으로 나누어 이용자 설문조사를 통하여 상대적인 저항감을 구하여 합산된 환승저항을 계산하고, 이를 전반적인 환승만족도와 연결시켜 환승효용함수를 구하고 이를 토대로 환승패스의 개선 방향을 결정하는 방법을 논하였다.

  • 지속적인 경제성장에 더불어 지역 활성화 정책이 시행되면서 지역 간 통행수요가 증가하고 있으며, 이를 다양한 교통수단이 분담하고 있다. 교통 분야에서 저탄소 녹색성장이 강조되면서 친환경 교통수단인 간선열차로 통행수요의 전환을 유도하려는 노력이 이루어지고 있다. 이를 위하여 간선열차와 경쟁적 위치에 있는 대중교통수단들에 대한 승객들의 인식 파악 및 간선열차의 경쟁력 강화 방안에 대한 연구는 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 6개의 대표적 지역 간 대중교통수단(KTX, ITX-새마을, 무궁화, 우등고속버스, 일반고속버스, 항공기)이 제공하는 서비스 특성에 대한 유사성을 다차원척도 분석을 실시하여 2차원 공간상에 개념적 거리로 표현하고 승객들의 수단 간 유사성 인식정도를 측정하였다. 연구 결과를 통하여 지역 간 대중교통 수단들에 대한 경쟁관계를 파악할 수 있었으며, 이를 통하여 간선열차가 상대적 경쟁우위를 선점하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

Optimal Allocation of Three Modes for the Intercontinental Transportations of Mass-Market Products

  • There is a trend toward the world's manufacturing sites moving to East Asia. After manufacture, these products are transported to the advanced nations for their consumption demands. Among such advanced nations, the U.S.A. has the largest demand, and then Japan and European countries follow. It should be noted that the infrastructures of the Asian districts used for the production sites are rather limited, and the volume of products transported from these districts of Asia to the U.S.A is becoming tremendously large. This situation is causing very serious traffic problems. New products are required to be transported swiftly by air. Once the consumption and market demands are stable however, the products should be sent rather slowly, but in larger amounts. However, the airports of China are quite restricted in capacity, while the transportation volume is becoming large. As a result, transportation cost and the time required for transportation are increasing. Now, a third method is appearing. This is the so-called Sea and Air transportation. The cost and time in transit of this mode take mean positions between Air and Ocean services. At present there exists no well-thought-out strategy for how to allocate these three methods of transportation. This paper is an attempt to theoretically describe this mechanism and to discover the optimal way to allocate the three modes. For this purpose, several mathematical properties of value and cost of the products are defined, and on this basis a simulation of the transportation is established.
