  • This paper describes the designs and the implementations of two H/W IPSec Systems, look-aside and inline, on TOE (Transport Offloading Engine). These systems aim for guaranteeing the security of datagram networks while preserving the bandwidth of gigabit networks. The TOE offloads a host CPU from network burdens, so that it makes the gigabit wire speed possible, and then deeper level security architecture of the IPSec guarantees the security of gigabit service network dominated by datagram packets. The focus of this paper is to minimize the TOE's performance degradation caused by the computation-oriented IPSec. The look-aside IPSec system provides a significant improvement in the CPU offload of the IPSec cryptography loads. However, the inline system completely offloads the host CPU from whole IPSec loads, providing significant additional cost saving compared to the look-aside system. In this paper, the implementations of TOE cards including commercial IPSec processors are presented. As the result of performance evaluation with the protocol analyzer, we can get the fact that the inline IPSec system is 8 times faster than the S/W system and 2 times faster than the look-aside system.

  • Today, because the international community recognized happing of environmental crisis on the world the international environmental agreements and advanced country's environmental regulations are very tight. Especially, port cities are posed strong threats to the environment due to receiving high pollution from ships and cargo vehicle emissions. So many advanced country (ex. United States, Japan, EU) implement Natural-friendly Port Policy and Program. Environmental-Regulations become more stringent in the future, management of low carbon dioxide emissions brings the competitiveness.(중략)

  • ATM network technology is generally used for the solution of integrating multimedia service in high-speed Internet. In Internet protocol based on ATM services, If single cell is lost in ATM layer, the entire TCP packet will be lost. Therefore, TCP performance will be degraded. In order to reduce cell loss, when congestion occur, UBR+EPD mechanism is proposed to improve the throughput in TCP over UBR, and ER scheme is suggested in TCP over ABR. In this paper, we analyzed the performance improvement effect of UBR+EPD with FRR (Fast Retransmission and Recovery), the adjusting EPD threshold parameter (R), and variation of MTU (Maximum Transport Unit) size. As a result, through the analysis of performance, we know that the improved throughput and fairness are shown by the proposed scheme.

  • 본 논문은 북미의 차세대 지상파 방송 표준인 ATSC 3.0에서 고려하고 있는 ROUTE(Real-time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport) 및 MPEG-DASH(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP)를 기반으로 자유시점 방송 서비스를 송 수신하기 위한 SLS(Service Layer Signaling)을 제안한다.

  • We carried out discharge and fire extinguishing tests of new inert gas clean agent, which consists of $92\%$ nitrogen and $8\%$ carbon dioxide, as an alternative of Halon that is banned by Montreal Protocol to protect the ozone layer of the earth. Discharge and fire extinguishing tests were performed in $27m^3$ and $190m^3$ rooms with piping which allows gaseous agent to transport from storage to test rooms. We confirmed that it took less than regulation time, 60 seconds for the discharge of over $95\%$ initial charged amounts. Discharge test variables were piping length and orifice size. Fire extinguishing tests verified that this new inert gas clean agent is suitable for both n-Heptane fire and deep seated fire of wood crib.

  • In this paper, we propose a new profile, ROHC(RObust Header Compression) profile 7, for SCTP with ROHC for applying robust header compression SCTP, which is a transport layer protocol. The proposed new profile 7 adds a new field of 1 or 2 byte size on the existing SCTP packet header, which can make the SCTP stream to be diveded into acknowledgement stream and data stream. In addition, the classification of the stream can be used for recovering fault context. Consequently, in the case of using proposed ROHC-SCTP, it is possible to reduce the SCTP header overhead rate and also can be saved bandwidth.

  • It is very important to find errors in broadcasted streams because it can help us to find where errors occur. Broadcasted streams may have errors in the RF(radio frequency) or baseband domain. It is very important to fix these errors because it can help to stabilize set-top boxes, provide stable receiving, and give comfortable environments to watch TV. Since 2001, major terrestrial broadcasters in Korea started the DTV broadcasting in Kwan-Ak over Seoul area. In this paper, we provide some analysis on errors in MPEG-based TS streams, PSIP packets, and RF area which may occur in DTV systems and compare this result with that of USA.

  • For transporting real-time multimedia traffic, RTP is considered as one of the most promising protocols operating at application layer. In order to manage and control the real-time multimedia traffic within networks, network managers need to monitor and analyze the traffic delivering through their networks. However, conventional traffic analyzing tools can not exactly classify and analyze the real-time multimedia traffic using RTP on the basis of real-time as well as non-real-time operations. In this paper, we propose an efficient online classification method of RTP packets, which can be used on high-speed network links. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed methodhave been tested using captured data from a KIX node with 100 Mbps links, which interconnects between domestic and overseas Internet networks and is operated by NCA.

  • The advantages of employing SCTP-based Concurrent Multipath Transfer (CMT) have been demonstrated to be very useful for data delivery over multi-homed wireless networks. However, there is still significant ongoing work addressing some remaining limitations and challenges. The most important concern when applying CMT to data delivery is related to handling packet reordering and buffer blocking. Another concern on this topic is that current sender-based CMT solutions seldom consider balancing the overhead and sharing the load between the sender and receiver. This paper proposes a novel Receiver-driven Cooperation-based Concurrent Multipath Transfer solution (CMT-Rev) with the following aims: (i) to balance overhead and share load between the sender and receiver, by moving some functions including congestion and flow control from the sender onto receiver; (ii) to mitigate the data reordering and buffer blocking problems, by using an adaptive receiver-cooperative path aggregation model, (iii) to adaptively transmit packets over multiple paths according to their receiver-inspired sending rate values, by employing a new receiver-aware data distribution scheduler. Simulation results show that CMT-Rev outperforms the existing CMT solutions in terms of data delivery performance.
