The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for development of environmental design technology for greenhouses constructed in reclaimed lands. We analyzed the climatic conditions around seven major reclaimed land areas in Korea, which have a plan to install advanced horticultural complexes. The characteristics of heating load through the thermal environment measurement of the greenhouse in Saemangeum were analyzed. The part to be applied to the environmental design of the greenhouses in reclaimed lands were reviewed. The overall heat transfer coefficient of the experimental greenhouse with the aluminum screen and multi-layer thermal curtain averaged $3.79W/m^2^{\circ}C$. It represents a 44 % heat savings rate compared with plastic greenhouses with a single covering, which was significantly lower than that of the common greenhouses with 2-layer thermal curtains. This is because the experimental greenhouse was installed on reclaimed land and wind was stronger than the inland area. Among the total heating load, the transmission heat loss accounted for 96.4~99.9 %, and the infiltration loss and the ground heat exchange were low. Therefore, it is necessary to take countermeasures to minimize the transmission heat loss for greenhouses constructed in reclaimed lands. As the reclaimed land is located on the seaside, the wind is stronger than the inland area, and the fog is frequent. Especially, Saemangeum area has 2.6 times stronger wind speed and 3.4 times longer fog duration than the inland area. In designing the heating systems for greenhouses in reclaimed lands, it is considered that the maximum heating load should be calculated by applying the wind coefficient larger than the inland area. It is reasonable to estimate the operation cost of the heating system by applying the adjustment factor 10 % larger than the average in calculating the seasonal heating load.
Current rating of a power cable can be calculated by the maximum allowable temperature in an insulating material considering the heat transfer from cable conductor. Therefore, it is very important to calculate the current rating using electrical equivalent circuit by calculated cable thermal circuit parameters but, it has not been fully investigated yet. In this paper, in order to determine the current rating of power cable, conventional calculation method has been reviewed considering the conductor resistance, loss factor of sheath, dielectric losses and thermal resistances based on the maximum allowable temperature of 345 kV $2500mm^2$ XLPE cable. To confirm the calculation result of the current rating, the conductor temperature should be examined whether it reaches the maximum allowable temperature by the thermal equivalent circuit of the cable. Then, utilizing EMTP (Electro-Magnetic Transient Program) which is a conventional program for electrical circuit, the thermal equivalent circuit was transformed to an electric equivalent circuit using an analogous relationship between thermal circuit and electrical circuit, and temperature condition including cable conductor, sheath, cable jacket could be calculated by the current rating of 345 kV $2500mm^2$ XLPE cable.

To achieve cost and size reductions, we developed a low cost manufacturing technology for RF substrates and a high performance passive process technology for RF integrated passive devices (IPDs). The fabricated substrate is a conventional 6" Si wafer with a 25${\mu}m$ thick $SiO_2$ surface. This substrate showed a very good insertion loss of 0.03 dB/mm at 4 GHz, including the conductive metal loss, with a 50 ${\Omega}$ coplanar transmission line (W=50${\mu}m$, G=20${\mu}m$). Using benzo cyclo butene (BCB) interlayers and a 10 ${\mu}m$ Cu plating process, we made high Q rectangular and circular spiral inductors on Si that had record maximum quality factors of more than 100. The fabricated inductor library showed a maximum quality factor range of 30-120, depending on geometrical parameters and inductance values of 0.35-35 nH. We also fabricated small RF IPDs on a thick oxide Si substrate for use in handheld phone applications, such as antenna switch modules or front end modules, and high-speed wireless LAN applications. The chip sizes of the wafer-level-packaged RF IPDs and wire-bondable RF IPDs were 1.0-1.5$mm^2$ and 0.8-1.0$mm^2$, respectively. They showed very good insertion loss and RF performances. These substrate and passive process technologies will be widely utilized in hand-held RF modules and systems requiring low cost solutions and strict volumetric efficiencies.

To ensure resource adequacy in restructured electricity markets, policymakers have adopted installed capacity (ICAP) markets in some regions of the United States. These markets ensure that adequate generation exists to satisfy regional Loss of Load Probability(LOLP) criterion. Since the incentives created through ICAP mechanisms directly impact new generation and transmission investment decisions we examine one important factor that links ICAP markets with LOLP calculations;, determining the amount of ICAP credit assigned to particular generation units. First, we review and critique the literature on electric power systems' market failure resulting from demand exceeding supply. We then summarize the method of computing (the LOLP) as a means of assessing reliability and relate this method to ICAP markets. We find that only the expected value of available generation is used In current ICAP markets while ignoring the second and higher order moments, which tends to mis-state the ICAP value of a specific resource. We then consider a proposal whose purpose is to avoid this ICAP assignment issue by switching from ICAP obligations to options. We find that such a proposal may fail to not provide the benefits claimed and suffers from several practical difficulties. Finally, we conclude with some policy recommendations and areas for future research.

A plethora of transmission control protocol (TCP) congestion control algorithms have been devoted to achieving the ultimate goal of high link utilization and fair bandwidth sharing in high bandwidth-delay product (HBDP) networks. We present a new insight into the TCP congestion control problem; in particular an end-to-end delay-based approach for an HBDP network. Our main focus is to design an end-to-end mechanism that can achieve the goal without the assistance of any network feedback. Without a router's aid in notifying the network load factor of a bottleneck link, we utilize goodput and throughput values in order to estimate the load factor. The obtained load factor affects the congestion window adjustment. The new protocol, which is called TCP-goodput and throughput (GT), adopts the carefully designed inversely-proportional increase multiplicative decrease window control policy. Our protocol is stable and efficient regardless of the link capacity, the number of flows, and the round-trip delay. Simulation results show that TCP-GT achieves high utilization, good fairness, small standing queue size, and no packet loss in an HBDP environment.
At present, an important research area is the search for materials that are compatible with CMOS technology and achieve a satisfactory response rate and modulation efficiency. A strong local field of graphene surface plasmon polariton (SPP) can increase the interaction between light and graphene, reduce device size, and facilitate the integration of materials with CMOS. In this study, we design a new modulator of SPP-based cycle branch graphene waveguide. The structure comprises a primary waveguide of graphene-$LiNbO_3$-graphene, and a secondary cycle branch waveguide is etched on the surface of $LiNbO_3$. Part of the incident light in the primary waveguide enters the secondary waveguide, thus leading to a phase difference with the primary waveguide as reflected at the end of the branch and interaction coupling to enhance output light intensity. Through feature analysis, we discover that the area of the secondary waveguide shows significant localized fields and SPPs. Moreover, the cycle branch graphene waveguide can realize gain compensation, reduce transmission loss, and increase transmission distance. Numerical simulations show that the minimum effective mode field area is about $0.0130{\lambda}^2$, the gain coefficient is about $700cm^{-1}$, and the quality factor can reach 150. The structure can realize the mode field limits of deep subwavelength and achieve a good comprehensive performance.
The aim of this study is to investigate the sound insulation performance of windows according to the sound source in the field test. For this purpose, an experiment was performed by KSF 2235(method for field measurements of sound insulation of windows and doors). Based on this code, the sound insulation performance fo the windows was measured for different incident angles of the sound and the effect of incident angle was obtained and discussed. Finally, it was found that the sound insulation performance of the windows was affected by the incident angle of sound source, and the sound insulation rating scale was different for the same window. The main factor changing insulation rating scale is considered to be the sound transmission through the carck of the folding part between the two pieces of wndows. Therefore, when evaluating the sound insulation performance of the windows for the field test, first of all the place of the sound source should be identified and generalized.
In this study, we propose characteristics improvement methods according to via hole plating method for FBAR Duplexer with US PCS($T_x$:1850MHz~1910MHz, $R_x$:1930MHz~1990MHz) bandwidth which is used for wireless systems. Also, we designed and fabricated 3.8*3.8*1.8mm size microminiature FBAR Duplexer based on this proposal. First of all, in this study, we fabricated pentagon shape resonators by different size to make filter combination, and their quality factor(Q) are 687 with 6.6% of $k_{eff}^2$. Using this resonators, designed 3*2Type $T_x$ filter and 3*4Type $R_x$ filter. The transmission line, which works as phase shifter, is designed with $210{\mu}m$ in width and 18mm in length Stripline type. Inductor, which is used for matching component, is designed with width of $75{\mu}m$, a technically achievable minimum width. And adopted plating method of filling via hole with conductive epoxy for improved grounding and thermal conductivity. Using these configuration with all of the matching component values, we found Duplexer characteristics of -1.57dB ~ -1.73dB in insertion loss, -56dB in attenuation at 1850MHz~1910MHz of $T_x$ band. Also, found -2.71 dB ~ -3.23dB in insertion loss, -58dB in attenuation at 1930MHz~1990MHz of $R_x$ band.
