  • The idea of shopping is changed from a purchase of merchandise to an experience of pleasure. This study is a space composition analysis for the introduction of theme in multi-plex shopping center design to reflect variable consumer trend and company marketing strategy. The study progressed through theoretical consideration and substance analysis about the shopping centers which had been designed by Jerd Partnership from 2000 in Japan. The following is result. The path is a sole main street that is made of curve form, parallel and vertical circulating rout and movement of human being. It leads continuity. The node and landmarks have a circular court with typifier as powerful center, character of transition space and event for experience. It makes locational quality. The districts are composed of retail shops, restaurants and culture facilities and the edge is represented by closed vertical wall and parapet. It induces a domain. The characteristic of Jerde shopping center is an experience of theme environment through the path as betweenness space with a story based on a main theme.

공공도서관의 복합화에 따른 공간의 구조적 변화에 관한 연구 (Research on changes of spatial configuration due to complexation of public library)

  • Public libraries in Korea have undergone changes from libraries for just reading or keeping books to libraries with cultural facilities that provide information through various media. It was because of the "plan for building the information-oriented library" in 2000 that made the complexation of public library in progress. The alterations of the system have changed the structure as well as the grade ranks but haven't been considered enough for administrators or visitors. Hereupon, we are to study of the features by analyzing how the application of the system changed the structure of library. There are four stages in research methods. First, concept of public library and functional elements requested in the process of complexation were studied from literature. Second, vertical, horizontal and circulate changes were studied by applying subject libraries into prior research stereotyping the libraries. Third, mutual relations between each place were studied through J-Graph by elements. Lastly, rank changes according to centrality of space and users were quantitatively studied with space syntax. 4 notable changes were found in these analyses. (1)Vertical, horizontal and circulate structure of public libraries were homogenized. Since 2001, however, they have become diversified as all-in-one or detachable. (2)The space structure of library before 2001 was shallow tree shape while in 2001, period of transition, was the tree shape mixed with ring shape. As time goes on, it has become shallow tree shape again but connected by ring shape in part of reading and common space and in digital reference room. (3)Digital reference room was center of the space around 2001 and it ranked top for integration. After 2007, however, it has become setting off-center. (4)About the purpose of using public libraries, using it as space for administrators ranked top followed by space for visitors and common space before. For now, common space ranks top and space for visitors and administrators. 5 subject public libraries were selected respectively before and after 2001.

A multiscale numerical simulation approach for chloride diffusion and rebar corrosion with compensation model

  • Refined analysis depicting mass transportation and physicochemical reaction and reasonable computing load with acceptable DOFs are the two major challenges of numerical simulation for concrete durability. Mesoscopic numerical simulation for chloride diffusion considering binder, aggregate and interfacial transition zone is unable to be expended to the full structure due to huge number of DOFs. In this paper, a multiscale approach of combining both mesoscopic model including full-graded aggregate and equivalent macroscopic model was introduced. An equivalent conversion of chloride content at the Interfacial Transition Layer (ITL) connecting both models was considered. Feasibility and relative error were discussed by analytical deduction and numerical simulation. Case study clearly showed that larger analysis model in multiscale model expanded the diffusion space of chloride ion and decreased chloride content in front of rebar. Difference for single-scale simulation and multiscale approach was observed. Finally, this paper addressed some worth-noting conclusions about the chloride distribution and rebar corrosion regarding the configuration of rebar placement, rebar diameter, concrete cover and exposure period.

CNG 버스용 NGOC+LNT+SCR 촉매시스템의 특성 (Characteristics of Catalysts System of NGOC-LNT-SCR for CNG Buses)

  • 친환경자동차의 보급 확대를 위한 정책수립과 기술개발이 지속적으로 이루어지고 있는 실정이나 아직까지도 내연기관이 차지하는 비중은 약 95% 차지하고 있다. 화석연료를 기반으로 하는 내연기관의 엄격한 배기가스규제를 충족시키기 위해 자동차와 선박용 후처리장치의 비중이 점차로 증가하고 있다. 이 연구는 CNG 버스의 post Euro-VI 배기대응을 위한 기초연구로써, Pd 대체 전이금속 영향, 촉매 체적 영향 그리고 공간속도에 따른 기초 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 촉매는 제조되었고 모델가스반응장치로 실험하였다. 3Pd가 포함된 NGOC 촉매는 $300^{\circ}C$에서 22%, $350^{\circ}C$에서 48% 그리고 $500^{\circ}C$에서 약 75%의 $CH_4$ 저감 능력을 나타내며 촉매 활성이 가장 높았다. 전이금속 3wt%가 포함된 3Co NGOC는 산화능력이 우수한 물질로써, 2nm급의 작은 사이즈로 촉매 분산도가 향상되어 de-NO/CO 전환율이 높았다. NGOC+LNT+SCR 촉매시스템의 체적은 $De-CH_4/NOx$ 성능과 촉매비용을 고려할 때 Total score가 165를 나타낸 1.5+0.5+0.5 조합이 최적이었다. SV $14,000h^{-1}$일 경우 $CH_4$ 저감 성능은 약 20% 수준으로 가장 높았고, SV $56,000h^{-1}$의 경우가 약 5% 수준으로 가장 낮았다. 공간속도가 작으면 유속이 감소하여 촉매 체적에 잔류하는 시간이 길어지므로 유해가스가 저감되었기 때문이다.

THEMIS Pi2 observations near dawn and dusk sectors in the inner magnetosphere

  • The most frequently suggested source for Pi2 pulsations in the inner magnetosphere (L < 4) is standing fast-mode waves trapped in the plasmasphere (i.e., plasmaspheric resonances). They have been considered as the source of low-latitude Pi2 pulsations. The plasmaspheric resonance model suggests that compressional fast-mode waves can be detected at all local times inside the plasmasphere provided reflection of the wave energy is efficient. Until now, however, there are no reports about compressional Pi2s observed in the dayside inner magnetosphere. That is, there is longitudinal limit of inner magnetosphere. In February 2008, THEMIS probes were near dawn and/or dusk sides, which are the transition regions between the nightside and dayside, in the inner magnetosphere (L = 2-4) when low-altitude Pi2s were identified at Bohyun (L = 1.35) station in Korea. Using the THEMIS electric field data, we examined if Pi2s are excited by longitudinally localized disturbances. We found that compressional Pi2s having high coherence with a low-latitude Pi2 pulsation occur on dawnside. However, any compressional pulsations in the Pi2 frequency band were not detected on duskside. This indicates that compressional Pi2s disappear near the duskside. Our observations are discussed with spatial plasmaspheric structure and possible Pi2 mechanisms.

생물종 및 서식지 보전의 관점에서 본 대도시의 비오톱 구조분석 -대구광역시 수성구를 중심으로- (An Analysis of Biotope Structure in Terms of Species and Biotope Preservation in Metropolitan Area -In the case of Soosung District in Daegu-)

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze of biotope structure focused on the evaluation for the species and biotope preservation in the case of Soosung District in Daegu metropolitan city. We analyzed the structure of urban biotope, and investigated the disposition of space and several characteristics through the material collection relating to the existing urban ecological material and the field investigation. The results of this study were as follows; 1) The result of biotope type classification was divided into 17 biotope type groups and 90 biotope types belonging to them. 2) The biotope type of mixed forest(QD) has the highest rate in occupation area, 1.764ha and the biotope type of cultivation areas by vinyle-hothouse(KC) has the lowest rate, 0.3ha. 3) In the result of the first evaluation for the species and biotope preservation, biotope types such as QB, QI, PA, PB, NB and NC etc. possess great value. Particulary, these biotope types come from forest areas and transition zone. They have not appeared in the inner of cities. 4) The biotope types such as CA, NA, NB, ND and PB are proved to possess high value in the result of rarity and riskiness evaluation. There appear EE, MA, NB, QC and QD in IV grade which is impossible to have them regenerative. They usually have appeared in forest areas. 5) There emerge 3a biotope type that has the highest value in the result of the second evaluation such as CC, EE, KF, LD, MB, NC, PB, QB and QI etc. Most of them were presented into the large area of site size and were distributed in the forest areas intensively. So, it is certain that the space for the species and biotope preservation connected with residential district is scarce. 6) The detailed biotope plan must be made out specially continuously. It is about biotope spaces that are especially important for the species and biotope preservation from the result of this research. Also, the study on the detailed index settlement of the urban landscape plan based on the biotope map must be continued.

커뮤니케이션학 관점에서 본 도서관 공간의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of Library Space from the Perspective of Communication)

  • Modern society is heading towards a knowledge & information based society where knowledge and information is valued, or a knowledge creation society where information is analyzed and processed to be used as knowledge. This means that not only individuals but also every organization is always surrounded by information and that we are witnessing a transition into a society where the value of knowledge and information is increasingly higher so sometimes we must actively explore and use the information across the whole social structure involved with politics, economy and culture. Recently, while the amount of information at public libraries at home and abroad has greatly increased in volume and the kinds have become diverse, efforts for digitalizing and integrating knowledge & information resources are being pursued aggressively. A new paradigm of facilities and space configuration for public libraries is required so that along with traditional library service there will exist integrated links and exchange of digital information resources and all users will be able to equally access that information. Therefore, assuming that human, information and space are important design factors as to space planning for public libraries, this study compared characteristics of the space structure and the form of exchange of knowledge & information through examples involved with public libraries having opened in the past three to four years from perspectives of space sociology and communication. This is a basic study to provide organized design guidelines about the form of exchange of creative knowledge & information from various perspectives in the knowledge & information age. Also this study is considered to have a significance in activating communication with users through exchange, creation and experience of knowledge & information, which is a social role that modern public libraries support.

암으로 자녀를 잃은 가족의 경험에 대한 질적연구 (The Experience of the Family Whose Child Has Died of Cancer)

  • The purpose of this study was to build a substantive theory about the experience of the family whose child has died of cancer The qualitative re-search method used was grounded theory. The interviewees were 17 mothers who had cared for a child who had died of cancer Traditionally in Korea, mothers are the care givers in the family and are considered sensitive to the family's thoughts, feelings. The data were collected through in-depth interviews by the investigator over a period of nine months. The data were analyzed simultaniously by a constant comparative method in which new data are continuously coded into categories and properties according to Strauss and Corbin's methodology. The 16 concepts which were found as a result of analyzing the grounded data were, -left over time, the empty place, meaninglessness, inner sadness, situational sadness, heartache, physical pain, guilt, resentment, regret, support / stigmatization, finding meaning in the death, changing attitudes about life and living, changing attitudes about health, changing religious practice and changing family relations. Five categories emerged from the analysis. They were emptiness, consisting of left over time, the empty place and meaninglessness ; sadness, consisting of inner sadness and situational sadness ; pain, consisting of heartache and physical pain ; bitterness, consisting of guilt, resentment, regret, sup-port / stigmatization and finding meaning in the death : and transition, consisiting of changing attitudes about life and living, changing attitudes about health, changing religious practice and changing family relations. These categories were synthesized into the core concept, -the process of filling the empty space. The core phenomenon was emptiness. Emptiness varied with the passing of time, was perceived differently according to support / stigmatization and finding meaning in the death, was followed by sad-ness, pain, and bitterness, and finally resulted in changes in attitudes about life and living and about health, and in changes in religious practice and family relations. The process of filling the empty space proceeded by ① accepting realty, ② searching for the reason for the child's death, ③ controlling the bitter feelings, ④ reconstructing the relationships ameng death, illness and health and ⑤ filling the emptiness by resolving causes of child's death, adopting, having another child or with work. Six hypotheses were derived from the analysis. ① The longer the bereavement, the mere the empty space becomes filled. ② The longer the hospitalization, the more sup-port the family needs. ③ The more the sadness, pain and bitterness are expressed, the mere positive changes emerge. ④ Family support faciliates the process of filling the empty space. ⑤ Higher family cohesiveness faciliates the process of filling the empty space. ⑥ The greater the variety of reasons attributed to the child's death, the greater the variety of patterns of change. Four propositions related to emptiness and bitter-ness were developed. ① When the sense of emptiness is great and bitterness is manifested by severe feelings of guilt and resentment, the longer the process of fill-ing the empty space. ② When the sense of emptiness is great and the family is highly motivated to get rid of the bitterness, the shorter the process of filling the empty space. ③ When the sense of emptiness is less and bitter-ness is manifested by severe feelings of guilt and resentment, the process of filling the empty space is delayed. ④ When the sense of emptiness is less and the family is highly motivated to get rid of the bitterness, the process of filling the empty space goes on to completion. Through this substantive theory, nurses under-stand the importance of emptiness and bitterness in helping the family that has lost a child through cancer fill the empty space. Further research to build substantive theories to explain other losses may con-tribute to a formal theory of how family health is restored after human tragedies are experienced.

한국 남동연안 이상수온의 마르코프 연쇄 성질 (Markov Chain Properties of Sea Surface Temperature Anomalies at the Southeastern Coast of Korea)

  • 한국 남동해안 5개 연안 관측점(주문진, 죽변, 장기갑, 울기, 부산)의 28년간 (1957∼1984) 월별 수온 자료를 근거로 하여, 매달의 이상수온(water temperature anomalies)이 1개월 전의 이상수온에 의존하는 성질, 즉 마르코프(Markov) 연쇄 성질에 대하여 구명하였다. 각 관측점 이상수온 변동의 표준편차를 기준으로 하여, 월별 이상수온을 저온, 정상 및 고온의 상태로 구분한 후, 연속된 두 달간의 이상수 온 상태의 천이 횟수 및 확률을 계산하였다. 정상상태의 이상수온이 그 다음 달에 도 정상상태로 유지될 확률은 0.8정도이다. 저온 또는 고온 상태의 이상수온이 다음 달에도 같은 상태에 남아 있을 확률과 정상상태로 될 확률은 거의 같다. 이상수온 이 고온(저온) 상태에 있다가 다음 달에 저온(고온)상태로 바뀔 확률은 거의 0에 가 깝다. 이와 같은 이상수온 변동의 마르코프 연쇄에 대한 통계적 테스트 결과에 의 하면, 이상수온 변동은 시간적으로 정상적(stationary)이며, 공간적으로 균질적(homo geneous)이다. 이상수온 변동에 대한 다단계(multi-steps)마르코프 연쇄분석에 의하 면, 연안역 이상수온이 마르코프 연쇄성을 보유하는 '기억'은 약 3개월 정도 유지된 다.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how housing facilities have been progressed, how housing life has been technicalized and which factors contributed to the modernization of Korean housing in the economic development era. Review of advertising material for apartment sales in the newspaper from 1970s' to the 1990s' are mainly utilized to follow up the changes of kitchen equipment and furnitures, bathroom equipments, heating and cooking facilities and their fuel system, information and telecommunication system as well as security and intelligent system. However, high technology in apartment was a symbol of modem housing in each time. The improvement of housing facilities brought about the improvement of efficiency in household works. In other words, housing space plays as "Living Machine". And appearance of new technology systems leaded to a pluralistic activities in the home. As well as improvement on the material environments accelerated the individualization phenomena in housing space.
