헴트 소자의 해석적 직류 모델 (An Analytical DC Model for HEMT's)

  • 헴트(HEMT) 소자의 순수 해석적 DC모델이 2차원 전하제어 시뮬레이션 결과[4]에 기초하여 제작되었다. 이 모델에서는 2-DEG 채널의 전자 운송 역학에 확산 효과를 추가하였다. 이 확산효과는 기존 1차원 DC모델에서 사용하는 전자 이동도 및 문턱전압을 증가시키는 효과를 가졌음을 보였다. 또한 2-DEG 농도분포함수를 piecewise 선형화하여 HEMT 소자의 subthreshold 특성의 해석적 모델을 추가하였고, 따라서 2-DEG의 채널 두께 및 게이트 용량을 게이트 전압의 함수로 나타내었다. I-V curve의 전류포화영역에서의 기울기를 모델하는데는 gate 밑의 전자포화채널 지역에서의 전자채널두께와 채널길이 변조현상을 함께 고려하였다. Troffimenkoff형의 전장의존 전자이동도를 사용하여 I-V곡선의 포화현상을 모델하였다. 또한 기존 1차원 모델에서 감안되지 않은 2차원 효과가 실제 전류특성곡선에서 매우 중요한 역할을 하며, 이 효과가 효과적으로 1개의 보정상수f로 보상됨을 보였고, 물리적으로 이 상수가 채널 GCA 지역과 채널포화지역 사이에 형성되는 채널천이지역의 전자농도와 관계됨을 보였다.

Aerodynamic analysis on the step types of a railway tunnel with non-uniform cross-section

  • The pressure-mitigating effects of a high-speed train passing through a tunnel with a partially reduced cross-section are investigated via the numerical approach. A compressible, three-dimensional RNG k-ε turbulence model and a hybrid mesh strategy are adopted to reproduce that event, which is validated by the moving model test. Three step-like tunnel forms and two additional transitions at the tunnel junction are proposed and their aerodynamic performance is compared and scrutinized with a constant cross-sectional tunnel as the benchmark. The results show that the tunnel step is unrelated to the pressure mitigation effects since the case of a double-step tunnel has no advantage in comparison to a single-step tunnel, but the excavated volume is an essential matter. The pressure peaks are reduced at different levels along with the increase of the excavated earth volume and the peaks are either fitted with power or logarithmic function relationships. In addition, the Arc and Oblique-transitions have very limited gaps, and their pressure curves are identical to each other, whereas the Rec-transition leads to relatively lower pressure peaks in CPmax, CPmin, and ΔCP, with 5.2%, 4.0%, and 4.1% relieved compared with Oblique-transition. This study could provide guidance for the design of the novel railway tunnel.

감성공간디자인의 실증적 연구-II (An Empirical Study on Emotional Space Design-II)

  • With a theoretical focus on the emotional experiences created via the interface, and the relationship between human beings and space, this study aims to corroborate and clarify the formation and verification of emotional interactions between human beings and space using body movements. It follows the method of Coining "Movement Phrases" through the analysis of body movements in the experimental space, thereby developing them into a complete scenario to produce the story of emotional expression. This study has hereby generated the following outcomes: First, the "pocket-type" exhibition displays a higher frequency of body movements than the "general" exhibition. It has close connections with emotional vocabularies: "Curious," "interesting," "warm," and "fun." The "general" exhibition records a relatively high frequency of emotional vocabularies like "natural," "efficient," and "free." Second, it is possible to analyze the story of space using a scenario, just like drama, based upon attributes and serial relationships. The "exposition" section reveals a high degree of "curiosity" and a large number of body movements, while the "development" section indicates high degree of "surprise" plus slight body movements. The "transition" sections manifest high "interest" and many body movements, and the "climax" section shows a high frequency of "surprise" and many changes in body movements. The "conclusion" section finally invokes images together with body movements.

Damage detection through structural intensity and vibration based techniques

  • The development systems for the Structural Health Monitoring has attracted considerable interest from several engineering fields during the last decades and more specifically in the aerospace one. In fact, the introduction of those systems could allow the transition of the maintenance strategy from a scheduled basis to a condition-based approach providing cost benefits for the companies. The research presented in this paper consists of a definition and next comparison of four methods applied to numerical measurements for the extraction of damage features. The first method is based on the determination of the Structural Intensity field at the on-resonance condition in order to acquire information about the dissipation of vibrational energy throughout the structure. The Damage Quantification Indicator and the Average Integrated Global Amplitude Criterion methods need the evaluation of the Frequency Response Function for a healthy plate and a damaged one. The main difference between these two parameters is their mathematical definition and therefore the accuracy of the scalar values provided as output. The fourth and last method is based on the Mode-shape Curvature, a FRF-based technique which requires the application of particular finite-difference schemes for the derivation of the curvature of the plate. All the methods have been assessed for several damage conditions (the shape, the extension and the intensity of the damage) on two test plates: an isotropic (steel) plate and a 4-plies composite plate.

Numerical Simulation and Experimental Research of the Flow Coefficient of the Nozzle-Flapper Valve Considering Cavitation

  • The nozzle-flapper valves are widely applied as a pilot stage in aerospace and military system. A subject of the analysis presented in this work is to find out a reasonable range of null clearance between the nozzle and flapper. This paper has presented a numerical flow coefficient simulation. In every design point, a parameterized model is created for flow coefficient simulation and cavitation under different conditions with varying gap width and inlet pressure. Moreover, a new test device has been designed to measure the flow coefficient and for visualized cavitation. The numerical simulation and test results both indicate that cavitation intensity gets fierce initially and shrinks finally as the gap width varies from small to large. From the curve, the flow coefficient mostly has experienced three stages: linear throttle section, transition section and saturation section. The appropriate deflection of flapper is recommended to make the gap width drop into the linear throttle section. The flapper-nozzle null clearance is optionally recommended near the range of $D_N/16$. Finally through simulation it is also concluded that the inlet pressure plays a little role in the influence on the flow coefficient.

온도 가변용 광음향 실험 장치와 고체의 상전이 현상 연구 (A Temperature Controlled Photoacoustic Apparatus for an Investigation of the Phase Transition in Solids)

  • 고체 시료의 상전이 현상을 연구하기 위하여 온도 가변용 광음향 cell과 dewar를 제작하였고, 이 장치를 이용하여 wood's metal의 상전이 온도를 측정하였다. 실험 결과는 융점으로 알려진 343 K와 잘 일치하고, 잠열(latent heat)이 존재하는 1차 상전이임을 나타냈으며 supercooling 현상이 존재한다는 것을 알았다. 고체-액체 상전이와 같은 1차 상전이의 경우 잠열이 존재하며 이러한 잠열은 시료의 온도를 올리며 측정할 경우 상전이 온도 부근에서 광음향 신호의 급작스런 감소를 발생시킨다. 그러나 온도를 내릴 경우 광음향 신호에는 아무런 영향을 미치지 못하므로 광음향 측정은 상전이의 차수를 결정할 수도 있음을 물론, 고체의 상전이 현상 연구에 유용한 방법임을 입증하였다.

급곡선 궤도에서 속도제한표 적정위치 (A Study on the Location of Speed Limit Post of Curved Track)

  • A curved track needs balanced super elevation according to the speed of the passing train and it is limited by maximum allowable amount. Therefore, passing speed at high degree curved track has to be controlled below the limits. Accurate position of the Speed Limit Post(SLP), which shows allowable speed of curved track dose not regulated so design and line side maintenance engineer adopt the position differently, When the rate of cant deficiency is considered on transition-curved section, the SLP should be located at the beginning point of the transition curve so as to control the speed of passing train and it will increase ride quality to passenger.

Synthesis and Physicochemical Properties of Schiff Base Macrocyclic Ligands and Their Transition Metal Chelates

  • Tetraaza Schiff base macrocyclic ligands, $L^1$,$L^2$ and their transition metal chelates have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, electronic, EPR and $^1H$ NMR spectra, TGA and magnetic measurements. The molar conductance of one milli-molar solution of the complexes measured in DMF indicates that the divalent metal complexes are nonelectrolyte while those of trivalent metal ion, are 1:1 electrolytic in the same solvent. The reduction of Racah parameter from the free ion value confirms the presence of considerable covalence of metal ligand sigma bond in the Co(II) and Mn(II) complexes. The EPR spectra of Cu(II) complexes at room temperature shows axial symmetry indicating a $d_x{^2}_{-y}{^2}$ ground state with significant covalent character. The thermal analysis suggests that the complexes do not contain water molecules because only the metal is left as residue.

Probing neutral gas clouds and associated galaxies in the early universe

  • Neutral (HI) gas clouds associated with galaxies are responsible for fuelling the star-formation in the universe. In literature, the extremely strong damped Lyman-alpha absorbers (or ESDLAs) have been known to be sensitive to the effects of HI-H2 transition and star-formation in galaxies. Yet, ESDLAs are rare to probe due to the smaller cross section they subtend on the sky (similar to galaxies). In my talk, I will focus primarily on my study of the nature of ESDLAs that are observed as absorption signature along the line-of-sight (LOS) of a quasar (QSO). I will further look at the HI-H2 transition and interesting results relevant to diffuse molecular gas and the multi-phase medium (gas in different ionization states) that are associated with ESDLAs. Furthermore, I will also discuss how the ESDLA environments differ from the high star-forming and molecular environments detected in blind optical and radio surveys consecutively.

5세대 이동통신 백홀용 공간 결합 전력 증폭기에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spatial Combining power Amplifiers for Backhaul of 5G cellular systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 5세대 이동통신 시스템의 백홀에 적용하기 위한 60GHz 세계적 비면허 대역(56-64GHz)에서 동작하는 공간 결합 전력 증폭기의 새로운 구조를 제안하였다. 제안한 구조는 변환기의 구조가 콤팩트하여 도파관의 단면의 크기가 수mm ${\times}$ 수mm 정도로 매우 작아지는 밀리미터파 주파수 대역에서 앤티포달 핀라인 변환기를 구현하기에 적합하고, 접지면이 바디메탈에 접촉될 수 있어 효율적인 방열 특성을 갖는다. 한편, HFSS 시뮬레이션 결과 기존 구조에 비해 반사손실은 1.27dB 만큼 개선되었고 삽입손실은 -1.65dB로 거의 같은 특성을 보여 이러한 장점에도 불구하고 성능의 저하는 없음을 알 수 있었다.
