  • In oil-filled equipment such as transformers, partial discharge or local overheating will make insulating material(oil, kraft paper, proclain and wood) be stressed and generate many sort of gases($CO,\;CO_2,\;H_2,\;C_2H_4$) which are dissolved in transformer oil. The ratio of this gas can make diagnostic tecchniques of the lifetime of transfomer so, it is important to monitoring $H_2$ gas continuously. This paper developes a system of detecting about $H_2$ gas by using $H_2$ gas sensor, and we describe operation and performance of this system

  • The while, PD source detection in the oil TR was the level of the planar source detection. and it is to respected scientific research. The planar source detection technique had limits which have difficulties finding out the point of deterioration generation. In this study, our purpose is a development of PD source detection technique with Three-Dimensional using a principle and a technique of the planar source location.

  • 본 연구는 국내에서 사용되고 있는 유입식변압기의 유중가스분포 특성에 대해서 설명하고 있다. 정상적으로 국내에서 운전중에 있는 변전용변압기와 발전기승압용 변압기, 산업체에서 사용되고 있는 배전용변압기의 유중가스분석결과로부터 데이터를 얻었다. 분석가스종류는 H2와 C2H2, C2H4, C2H6, CO, CO2, TCG 이며, 분포특성과 각 유중가스진단규격에서 제시하고 있는 진단기준치와의 비교 검토를 수행하였다.

Overload Criteria of Distribution Transformers Considering the Electric Consumption Patterns of Customers (수용가 전력 소비 패턴을 고려한 배전용 변압기 과부하 판정기준)

  • In the paper, we summarize the result of the experimental research for the overload criteria of domestic distribution transformers considering the electric consumption patterns of customers. For the basic characteristic data of distribution transformer overload, the actual experiments are accomplished. The field data of loads are surveyed from sample transformers for analyzing the consumption pattern of customer load. The load data acquisition devices are equipped, and the algorithm of load pattern classification is applied. In addition to this efforts, various load pattern data. in past are gathered. Then the representative load pattern of each customer type in domestic is extracted. The final results of overload criterions are presented as tabular form through the results of experiments and survey are combined. The field test of the experiment results is peformed using the special manufactured transformers, which can measure both the load and top-oil temperature of transformer. Through this, we verify that the results of field test are similar to the laboratory one and the Proposed overload criteria can be effectively applied to the real system.

  • The life of the transformers is significantly dependent upon the rate of thermal deterioration in the employed insulating materials. Therefore, the study should be based on hot-spot temperature considerations for the life expectancy and possible overload of transformer. We have measured directly temperature of the winding using thermocouples and these test results are compared with those obtained from computer simulation. In this work, our fundamental investigations are well described for the analysis in the thermal distribution of the oil-immersed transformer with the rating of 30kVA.

Electrical Properties of Transformer Oils due to Electron Beam Irradiation (전자선 조사에 따른 변압기유의 전기적 특성)

  • In this paper the change of electrical properties of transformer oil due to electron beam irradiation is investigated. The specimens are produced with a some different dose of 0.5[Mrad], 1[Mrad] and 2[Mard] except for original specimen. The physical properties of each specimen is analyzed by using the FT-IR spectrum. So it is confirmed that carbonyl groups are increased according to the increase of electron beam dose and also that the nitric compounds are disappeared. The magnitude of dielectric dissipation factor appears maximum value by the contribution of dipoles and ions in the low temperature low voltage region and it is stable due to the saturation of carriers in the high temperature high voltage region in the electric conduction characteristics. Volume resistivity is also measured one of original specimen is larger than irradiated specimen.

  • In this paper, we developed the fault diagnostic expert system of silicone-immersed transformer using dissolved gas analysis. The knowledge base module consists of the knowledge using the rule: if Then . The inference engine uses the fuzzy rule for the management of uncertainty of the boundary and rule and derivate the Belief and Plausibility of the normality and fault using Dempster-Shafer theory. The expert system is connected to the database and it can manages the history of gas-data of the transformer.

  • In this paper, specimens stirred with the several kinds of benzotriazole(following as BTA) addition which is very effective to decrease the streaming electrification, are tested to investigate the change of properties for insulating fluid using in ultra-high voltage transformer, and it will give a guideline to find out a proper quantity of BTA addition for the most effective suppression against the streaming electrification. In GC, we could not find out the change of the physical properties in an insulating fluid by BTA. In a flowing transformer oil, the characteristics on dielectric of specimen contained BTA 10[ppm] are superior to the others.

  • Chemical methods for moisture contents detection of insulation system in transformer must dismount equipment for sampling, and there is shortcoming such as acquiring partial data for measuring. Also the samples can't immediately analyze in field. The Recovery Voltage Method (RVM) will be able to measure a moisture contents at low voltage without dismounting equipment. Therefore, in advanced countries RVM would be used to measure the moisture contents which permeates to the insulation system without weighting additive degradation or mechanical damage. In this paper we have investigated for overcoming these shortcomings using the RVM, and we have measured the moisture contents of transformer insulation with temperature.
