Transferred OverVoltages on LV sides in Multigrounded Neutral during Line to Ground Fault on Distribution Systems (배전계통의 고저압 혼촉고장시 중성선 전위상승에 따른 저압기기 스트레스 전압)

  • In this paper we propose multi-grounded neutral design method which was considered of transferred transient overvoltage when line to neutral fault occurs. Specially, In order to confirm the actual transient overvoltage magnitude which occurs on neutral line, we considered some screening(shielding) effects. The screening coefficient was deducted from field test results and calculation in a distribution line which is identical with an actual power line. The purpose of this paper is to attempt to suggest the guidance for grounding skystem design considering limitation of overvoltage for LV side in IEC 61936. The result is based on EMTP simulation and real field faults situation in distribution lines.

  • This investigation was to identify the electrochemical corrosion protection conditions to minimize the cavitation damage by generating hydrogen gas with the means of hydrogen overvoltage before the impact pressure of the cavity is transferred to the surface. The hybrid potentiostatic test method is designed to evaluate a complexed cavitation and electrochemical characteristic for ALBC3 alloy that is diverse and its broad applications fields in marine industry. The surface observation showed that neither the cavitation damage nor the electrochemical damage by the hydrogen gas generation occurred in the potential of -2.6 V under the cavitation environment. In the potentiostatic experiments under the cavitation environment, the cavities were reflected or cancelled out by the collision of the cavities with the hydrogen gas generated by the hydrogen overvoltage.

Lightning Surges Transferred to Low-voltage AC Power Lines through Distribution Transformers (배전용 변압기를 통하여 저압 전원선으로 전파되는 뇌서지)

  • A strong need to improve the quality of electric power is increased because of increasing use of the sensitive and small-sized electronic devices. The transient overvoltages on low-voltage AC power distribution systems are induced by direct or indirect lightning return strokes, and they can cause damage and/or malfunction of the utility systems for home automation, office automation and factory automation as well as medical equipment. The behaviors of lightning overvoltages transferred through the transformer to the low voltage AC power distribution systems were experimentally investigated using a Marx generator. The surge voltages in low-voltage ac power systems are rarely limited by the application of the surge arrester to the primary side of distribution transformer and a custom service ground.

  • The importance of the improving quality of electric power is being strongly raised, owing to an increasing use of sensitive and small-sized electronic devices and system. The transient overvoltage on low-voltage AC power distribution system are induced by direct or indirect lightning return strokes, and those can cause damage and/or malfunction of the utility system for borne automation, office automation and factory automation as well as medical equipments. The behavior of lightning surge transferred to the primary side from the primary side in distribution transformers were experimentally investigated the protection effect of low voltage SPD installed at the secondary side of distribution transformers was analyzed.
