Presenting an Effective Model for Technology Transfer with the Maintenance Approach in Case of Tehran Subway

  • In recent years, technology developments in different countries, especially in newly industrialized countries, are extremely indebted to appropriate technology transfer by these countries. Nevertheless the technology transfer process in the present situation is complex, and its success is related to the coordination rate with the political, economic, social, and environmental objectives of countries. Today debates related to the transfer of the technical know how accompanied by equipment hardware has found remarkable importance such that countries seek increasing comprehensive capabilities in the field of transferred technology for which Preventive Maintenance (PM) is one of the aspects. This research with the purpose to determine the technological capability level and to study the role of PM in the effective & appropriate technology transfer in subway industry is carried out for presenting a suitable model for the technology transfer in this industry with an attitude towards the effects of principal PM factors. For this purpose, after the study of different and relevant models existing in the field of suitable methods for technology transfer, some equipment PM theories and models were selected as the base for the compilation of the questionnaire. With the help of questionnaire, main PM factors that are effective in the field of technology transfer were extracted, and finally, their effects on technology transfer were analyzed, identified and a comprehensive model suggested in this connection.

  • Most of the managers know that knowledge sharing has to be precede to create knowledge which has competitive advantage of organizations. Until now the study on knowledge management placed emphasis on knowledge creation and knowledge sharing but there is few study on knowledge hiding. This study investigates the factors implicate on knowledge hiding intention and knowledge transfer intention of front-line workers and office workers and the implication on job performance of knowledge hiding intention and knowledge transfer intention. We collected sample data from 100 front-line workers and 250 office workers and verified hypotheses using Multiple Linear Regression. The result described that factors affect active and passive knowledge hiding intentions and factors affect knowledge hiding intentions of front-line workers and office workers are different.

아이스 슬러리의 수송 및 냉열이용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Transport and Heat Utilization of Ice Slurries)

  • To investigate hydraulic and thermal characteristics of ice slurries in a circular tube, ice slurries were tested in a flow loop with a constant heat flux test section, for ranges of flow velocity, ice fraction and heat flux. Heat transfer coefficients and friction factors of ice slurries were calculated by measuring the outer wall temperatures of the test section and the pressure drops over the test section. Heat transfer coefficients of ice slurries were 9% higher than the heat transfer coefficients expected by Petukhov. Friction factors were about 4% lower than the friction factors expected by Petukhov. The effective thermal capacity of ice slurry with 12.8% ice fraction, was found to be about 3 times higher than the thermal capacity of water.

  • An investigation on the fully developed heat transfer and friction factor characteristics has been made in rectangular ducts with one-side roughened by five different shapes. The effects of rib shape geometries as well as Reynolds numbers are examined. The rib height-to-duct hydraulic diameter, pitch-to-height ratio, and aspect ratio of channel width to height are fixed at e/De=0.0476, P/e=8, and W/H=2.33, respectively. To understand the characteristics of heat transfer enhancements, the friction factors are also measured. The data indicates that the triangular type rib has a substantially higher heat transfer performance than any other ones.

The Impacts of Technology Transfer on Productivity Growth of Firms based on Malmquist Productivity Index

  • This study determines whether or not firms can achieve high productivity growth through external technology acquisition. It also identifies the key factors affecting adopting firms' productivity growth by employing the Malmquist productivity index (MPI) methodology, which features computational ease, low data dependency, and decomposition of productivity growth into technical efficiency change and technical change. Results showed that the effects of productivity growth arising from technology transfer became stronger over time. Moreover, patent transfer guaranteed firms' productivity growth, but no evidence was found that factors such as age and size could increase productivity. Finally, cultural similarity could be another factor conditioning the effectiveness of technology transfer in the productivity of adopting firms.

  • The objective of this study is to develop stochastic and deterministic models which could be used to synthesize water application time series. Adaptive models using mulitivariate ARIMA(Transfer Function Model) are developed for daily urban water use forecasting. The model considers several variables on which water demands is dependent. The dynamic response of water demands to several factors(e.g. weekday, average temperature, minimum temperature, maximum temperature, humidity, cloudiness, rainfall) are characterized in the model by transfer functions. Daily water use data of Kumi city in 1992 are employed for model parameter estimation. Meteorological data of Seonsan station are utilized to input variables because Kumi has no records about the meteorological factor data.To determine the main factors influencing water use, autocorrelogram and cross correlogram analysis are performed. Through the identification, parameter estimation, and diagnostic checking of tentative model, final transfer function models by each month are established. The simulation output by transfer function models are compared to a historical data and shows the good agreement.

흡수식 냉동기의 재생기에 사용되는 전열촉진관의 관 내측 열전달계수 및 마찰계수에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Tube-Side Heat Transfer Coefficients and Friction Factors of the Enhanced Tubes Used in Regenerators of Absorption Chillers)

  • 전열 촉진관은 흡수식 냉동기에 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 흡수식 냉동기의 재생기에 주로 사용되는 평활관, 리브 튜브, 코류게이트 튜브, 플로랄 튜브에 대하여 관 내측 열전달계수 및 마찰계수를 측정하였다. 실험 결과 열전달계수 및 마찰계수는 코류게이트 튜브에서 가장 크게 나타나고 다음으로 리브 튜브에서 크게 나타났다. 한편 플로랄 튜브의 열전달계수 및 마찰계수는 평활관 값과 4% 내에서 일치하였다. 이로부터 플로랄 튜브의 열전달 및 압력손실 특성이 수력직경으로 적절히 표현될 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 실험 데이터로부터 코류게이트 튜브와 리브 튜브의 B(e+)와 g(e+) 상관식을 구하였는데 코류게이트 튜브의 B(e+)와 g(e+)는 기존 상관식의 예측치와 20% 내에서 일치하였다. 본 연구 결과는 고온 영역에서 재생기용 전열촉진관의 관 내측 열전달 계수 및 마찰계수 산정에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Enabling Factors Affecting Knowledge Transfer and Business Process of Community Enterprise Groups in Thailand

  • This research aims to study and confirm enabling factors affecting the knowledge transfer and business process of community enterprise groups in Pattani province, Thailand. Key informants were community enterprise entrepreneurs; 30 people were selected purposively with criteria. This study used a mixed-methods approach and conducted semi-structured interviews to collect data. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis and classification, while quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Moreover, inferential statistics chi-square value, Phi Cramer's V, and multiple regression analysis with the R program for statistical computing were employed to analyze the relationship between the variables, test the research hypothesis, and create forecasting equations. The research results revealed that the overview of enabling factors had a very high relationship (Cramer's V=0.965). Regarding community enterprise, it was found that enabling factors related to the knowledge transfer and business process consisted of four factors: regulations and administrative guidelines, business plan, reinforcement, and brainstorming. Reinforcement was the factor with the highest degree of correlation (Cramer's V=0.873) and predictor of influence on the knowledge transfer and business process (R2=0.670, p<0.05). This study's findings can lead to the developing of guidelines for promoting community enterprises properly and timely. These guidelines are expected to be used to develop knowledge about business models for community enterprises, which will help to improve their competency and competitiveness.

마이크로핀 관의 기하학적 형상변화에 대한 열전달 특성 (I) - 응축 열전달 - (Heat transfer with geometric shape of micro-fin tubes (I) - Condensing heat transfer -)

  • To examine the enhancement mechanism of condensing heat transfer through microfin tube, the condensation experiments with refrigerant HCFC 22 are performed using 4 and 6 kinds of microfin tubes with outer diameter of 9.52mm and 7.0mm, respectively. Used microfin tubes have different shape and number of fins with each other The main heat transfer enhancement mechanism is known to be the enlargement of heat transfer area and turbulence promotion. Together with these main factors, we can find other enhancement factors by the experimental data, which are the overflow of the refrigerant over the microfin and microfin arrangement. The overflow of the refrigerant over the microfin can be analyzed by the geometric shape of the microfin. Microfin tubes having a shape which can give much overflow over the microfin show large condensing heat transfer coefficients. The effect of microfin arrangement is related to the heat transfer resistance of liquid film of refrigerant. The condensing heat transfer coefficients are high for the microfin tube with even distribution of liquid film.

Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Characteristics of Plain Finned Heat Exchangers Having 5.0 mm Tubes

  • In this study, pressure drop and heat transfer characteristics of plain finned heat exchangers having 5.0 mm diameter (fin collar 5.3 mm) tubes were investigated. Six samples having different fin pitches (1.1 to 1.3 mm) and tube rows (1 and 2 row) were tested. The fin pitch had a negligible effect on j and f factors. Both j and f factors decreased as the number of tube row increased, although the difference was not significant for the f factor. When compared with the j and f factors of the samples having 7.3 mm diameter tubes, the present j and f factors yielded lower values. However, the j/f ratio was larger at low Reynolds numbers. Possible reasoning is provided from the flow pattern consideration. Comparison with existing correlations were made.
