전동열차의 주행에너지 소비를 절감하는 운전모드 해석 (Optimal Driving Mode Analysis for Reducing Energy Consumption in Electric Multiple Unit)

  • A train driving requires to n the fixed distance within given time, and it is desirable to consume low energy if necessary. Reducing energy consumption depends on the train operation modes by either manual or automatic operation. In this article, an operation to reduce energy consumption by changing modes of train operation by a driver without changing the train operation requirement is investigated. The powering model, braking model and consumed energy calculation model are developed, then simulated by using a Matlab software. The accuracy of the train dynamic model established by the simulations is verified by comparing with the real experimental data. Several simulations by various operations in the real track are executed, then the desirable pattern of train driving is found.

안전요원 배치 여부에 따른 무인운전 경전철의 운행중단 시간예측 연구 (A Study on Prediction of Suspension Time of Unmanned Light Rail according to Safety Personal Deployment)

  • The number of unmanned light rail train operators is continuously increasing in Korea. In a failure event during an operation due to the nature of the unmanned operation, recovery is performed based on the remote control. However, if remote recovery is not feasible, safety personnel arrive at the train to resume the train operation. There are regulations on safety personnel and the suspension time of the train operation. However, there is currently no rule for safety personnel deployment. Currently, railway operating organizations operate in three scenarios: safety personnel on board trains, stationed at stations, and deployed at major stations. Four major factors influence the downtime for each emergency response scenario. However, these four influencing factors vary too much to predict results with simple calculations. In this study, four influencing factors were considered as random variables with high uncertainty. In addition, the Monte Carlo method was applied to each scenario for the safety personnel deployment to predict train service downtime. This study found a 17% difference in train service suspension by safety personnel deployment scenario. The results of this study can be used in setting service goals, such as standards for future safety personnel placement and frequency of service interruptions.

영국 화물철도운영자(EWS)와 코레일(한국철도공사) 교번근무제도 비교연구 (Comparison study for train crews and pilots operation system between EWS of UK and KORAIL of Korea)

  • KORAIL has been established by 1st January 2005. From organization change to KORAIL(Korea railroad Corporation), labour union and company management team has been argument for their train crews and drivers operation system. For example, train crew and driver working conditions; working hours per week, off day and duty day time, over night time working payment, current position payment, preparation time, company own lodge operation and so on. I assure that this comparison study for train crew and driver operation between KORAIL and EWS will helps to improve other korean railway companies management efficiency. In conclusion, EWS has 4$\sim$6 times more efficient employee for active operation than KORAIL per 1 freight brock-train operation. EWS has very resonable train crews and driver operation system, and self-control regulation for employee and management team with trusty. This thesis propose that korean railway companies and their own labour unions need joint research and benchmarking other oversea railway companies as like EWS.

  • The purposes of this primary study are the selection of rail station and train operation management techniques for express-rail operation service at the convectional railway electrification. For these analyses, we used the KNR statistics and KROIS data of rail stations and train users by rail line. Therefore, we chose the important stations for express-rail operation of Kyongbu conventional rail line (esp. Seoul-Jochiwon section) through the rail transportation demand. and then, suggested primary operational management plan thorough the effects analyses of decreasing total travel time and increasing transportation demand by train speed-up. This study has some bounds and limits for proceeding, as it does, we excluded as followings: the conditionals of fate system, headways and train diagram, economic/financial analysis and technological assessment, and other railway technological infrastructures and a certain railcar specification, etc. . We propose to enlarge this study into a feasibility study of express or skip-stop operation service and compatible vehicle system decision considering with the best possible investment rail line, furthermore. in front of Kyongbu (Seoul-Busan) high-speed rail open in 2004, we have to try to progress the efficiencies of railway operation applying various train operation management plan.

틸팅차량 주행에 따른 기존선 궤도의 주행안정성 평가 (Stability Evaluation of Track on Conventional Line According to Traveling Tilting Train)

  • 기존선 속도향상을 위해 개발된 틸팅열차는 기존열차에 비하여 승차감의 저하 없이 곡선부를 더욱 빠르게 주행할 수 있기 때문에 전체 운행시간을 단축시킬 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그러나 일반적으로 주행열차에 의해 궤도에 발생하는 힘은 주행속도의 함수로 표현되므로 주행속도가 증가하는 만큼 궤도가 부담해야할 힘의 크기도 증가하게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 틸팅차량의 기존선 곡선부 주행 시 내 외측 레일의 탈선계수를 산정하여, 곡선반경 증속 여부, 선로개량 유 무에 따른 주행안정성을 평가하였으며, 기존에 운행중인 일반열차와 고속열차의 주행안정성을 비교, 분석하였다. 연구결과, 측정대상 구간에서 측정된 동적 윤중을 이용하여 산출한 동적 윤중 감소량은 차체진동을 고려한 차량 전복에 대한 동적윤중 감소한계치를 모두 만족하는 것으로 나타나 향후 틸팅차량 투입시 대상구간에서의 윤중 감소에 따른 열차탈선의 위험은 없을 것으로 판단된다.

  • In the train schedule plan corresponds to a master plan for transport services. This service plan must be constructed to minimize operational cost or maximize revenue considering transportation demands and resource capacities in the operation company, and it includes several sub-planning activities such as train operation frequency plan, train schedule plan, train capacity assignment plan, and rolling stock requirement plan. In this paper, we present profitability evaluation system for the current train schedule plan. The proposed system can be used for evaluating profitability by estimating train service revenue considering customer demands.

틸팅열차 안전운행을 위한 비상시 응급조치 방안 연구 (A study of emergency first aid measures for TTX safe driving)

  • In order to prepare for the commercialization of Korean tilting train, this study was made on the pre-analysis of risk factors that can happen during operation, and emergency measures for safe operation of tilting train. The purpose of the study of emergency measures is to help to make tilting train run safely by making counteraction procedures for unusual situations such as train breakdown or accidents during the operation of a tilting train so that the engineer can quickly take care of each situation. Based on the items of emergency measures for EMU operated by Korean Railroad(or Korail), possible breakdown items during operation were selected and prioritized considering the occurring frequency and emergency level of each breakdown. In addition to these items, by adding items to represent tilting train's typicalfunctions such as tilting function error, tilting storage battery's electric pressure drop, etc, a total of62 emergency items were finally selected and measures for each item was made.

  • The automatic/driverless operation which are great important techniques in metro railway are required to increase higher safety, greater reliability, and transport capacity. To satisfy such demands, we must have the system design and testing technique for the railway system operation. These techniques are related to the onboard train control and communication systems which include TCMS(Train Control and Monitoring System), ATO(Automatic train Operation), ATC(Automatic train Control), and TWC(Train to wayside communication). These sub-systems must be interfacing with not only each others but also the signal system on the ground. We tested the train control system on the 7 line that has been developed on the basis of the standardized type EMU for korea railway systems.
