  • In this study, the method of analysis which is developed for calculating dynamic train loads and ground vibration by Shin-Chu Yang is verified comparing measurements of real structure. The results of analysis are agreed well with measurements of ground and structural vibration induced by passing train. The vibration level of analyzed results which is more than that of measured gives conservative result. To analyze frequency characteristics, the analyzed results are applied to the ISO environmental vibration regulation and reveal the possibility of application in analysis of frequency characteristics.

  • In high-speed train, the EMI is generated by pantograph detachment and switching device of motor-block. Especially, the conductive noise flows through rail as return feeder influences unintended results to sub-station, transformer, etc. These phenomena were investigated by PSIM circuit analysis tool and each part of railway system is modeled by circuit elements and switching devices. Consequently, the distorted wave in return feeder current occurs by the high speed switching frequency, and the overvoltage is applied by the pantograph detachment. Also the distortion of return current is high in starting point and it decreases from the proximity of a starting point ro the end of terminal.

  • When the high-speed train running on the track, there is a speed band which track distortion is unusually increased according to the condition of track and roadbed. This speed is called critical velocity and physical parameter value increased greatly. These phenomenon happened as high-speed train were developed, studied regularly through TGV 100 running test in France. As research result until now, the main reason is soft roadbed's capacity. Wave propagation and track support capacity is varied by the site characteristics. This paper achieved theoretical examination about resonance band(speed and frequency) that occurred in roadbed on the base rock in point of geotechnical engineering. The examination of resonance divides with ground response analysis, critical band analysis by the shear wave velocity of roadbed, train critical speed through the ground stratum.

  • In this paper, we propose context information communication system using RF module to prevent railway cross accident. Since the communication module transmits to the train with high bit rate, OFDM(Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) modulation method that distributes high speed data and transmits multiple times is applied. And image information is transmitted to the train's transceiver device by using ISM band (2.4GHz frequency band) that is proper to mobile communication. By using this system, we can deal with urgent situations at the railway cross and prevent railway cross accidents in advance.

  • The bogie hunting sensor detects accelerations of a bogie. It transmits those accelerations using frequency modulated signal to the TCMS(Train Control and Management System) electronics for functional processing. TCMS decide undesirable bogie hunting and high speed instability with frequency modulated signal. The bogie hunting sensor is essential component for safety driving of high speed train. The bogie hunting sensor's quality inspection before sensor is installed on bogie is very important. Therefore it is required equipment for exact inspection of train bogie hunting sensor. This study is about development of Bogie Hunting sensor's inspection equipment that we can improve Bogie Hunting sensor's quality. Accordingly, I suppose that this thesis will be utilized to improve the bogie hunting sensor's quality thru exact inspection.

  • High speed train system generates much EMI (electromagnetic interference) by arc between the pantograph and the trolley line during the running time. EMI from the tilted EMU train system which is similar to HEMU-400X system for 400 km/h speed and with the distributed engines was measured following EN50121-2, 'Railway applications. - Electromagnetic compatibility (Emission of the whole railway system to the outside world)'. Measured EMI values exceed the limiting values of EN50121-2 in high frequency band ($30\;MHz{\sim}1,000\;MHz$), but exceeding frequencies were identified that they are used for mobile communications. Measured EMI values did not exceed the limiting values in other low frequency band between 9 kHz and 30 MHz.

To determine the optimized distance between wayside radio stations in a radio communication network constructed along railway, radio frequency allocation and hand-over capability is studied in terms of radio communication cell coverage and roaming feasibility.

  • In railway train operations, a braking distance between two trains must be controlled on their speeds to avoid rear end collisions. The distance is decided by some parameters such that propulsion and braking performance of trains, gradient and etc. When determining this block distance, it is important to consider the two aspects that safety insurance at train running and increase of train running frequency. In this paper, we showed a methodologies of equiblock by consideration gradients and calculated optimal block speeds on the basis of the equivalent block distance.

  • This paper presents a simulation method with constant power model for the train load. In power system simulation loads could be modeled as a constant power, constant current, constant Impedance or a function of voltage and frequency. At this time, however, representing a train load as the function is difficult because of the lack of data. Therefore as a first step, simulation method with a constant power model fer a train is studied, and the test result is compared with the simulation result using the constant Impedance model.
