  • The train automatic operation control system is an on-board train control system that is widely adopted in modern rapid transit systems. The control system consists of TCMS(Train Control and Monitoring System), ATC(Automatic Train Control), ATO(Automatic Train Operation) and TWC(Train to wayside communication) in the train and wayside facilities. The functions of the system is to regulate train riding comfort, to service limited speed and smoothness during start, acceleration, constant speed travel, and fixed point parking under the corresponding commands. The paper describes the simulation model of the train automatic operation control of subway system, configuration of simulator hardware and software and operational algorithms.

  • This paper presents a modelling of railway facilities and signalling system based on object-oriented software development technique to simulate multi-train movements on the complex railway network. Block and interlocking functions of signalling system is modelled using Node-Link model of railway network and signal control logic, which can be used to set the train routes and control the train movement. A brief explanation of class design about these model is provided.

  • The ATO(Automatic Train Operation) System is used for train operation instead of dreivers. It is interfaced with TCMS(Train Control and Monitoring System) and ATC/TWC system in the train and wayside facilities. In this paper describes configuration of ATO, Specification of ATO hardware, construction of ATO software and the algorithm for automatic train speed regulation in the carborn ATO system. This paper is mainly concerned with the development of the ATO System. The ATO system is used for automatic or driverless operation of a train using various informations from TCMS, ATC, TWC. In this paper, the general architecture of the ATO system, implementation of ATO application software and the algorithm using servo-controller for automatic train speed controller.

  • Promotion of the line no.2 in Seoul Metro was changing from the existing signaling facilities for ATS(Automatic Train Stop) vehicles to the up-to-date signaling facilities for ATO(Automatic Train Operation). But, in consequence of conducting a trial run after being equipped with the ATO signaling facilities, the matter related to mix-operation with the existing ATS signaling facilities appeared. The operation of the existing ATS signaling system in combination with the ATO signaling system has made improper working related to frequency recognition of the ATS On-board Computerized Equipment. This obstructs operation of a working ATS vehicle. That is, as barring operation of an ATS vehicle that should proceed, it may make the proceeding ATS vehicle stop suddenly and after all, it will cause safety concerns. In this paper, we designed a wayside track occupancy detector that previously prevents improper working related to frequency recognition of the ATS On-board Computerized Equipment by gripping classification and working processes of operating trains throughout transmission of local signaling information from the existing facilities, which does not need to change or replace the existing signaling facilities. Furthermore, we described general characteristics of the wayside track occupancy detector and modeled the IFC(InterFace Contrivance) device and the logical circuit recognizing signal information. Then, we made an application program of PLC(programmable Logic Computer) based on the stated model. We, in relation to data transfer method, used the frame in TCP/IP transfer mode as the standard, and we demonstrated that ATO transmission frequency is intercepted.

  • A Railroad Cars playa prominent role in a matter of transportation yet it cannot be discussed here for cultural space. On the other hand, considering railroad customers' increaced desire(craving) for cultural space, we design it in the train so that we provide customers not only transportation but also fullfil them desire for culture. In the competitive cultural era. The aim of the new strategy for railroad bussiness is both inspiving art and operating exhibition facilities in the train(railroad). Through analysis of exhibition space and environment, we design exhibition space to equip cultural facilities in the train then lead to make railroad business' new social education role by the inside and outside of the country.

  • Korean railroad company is continuously improving the service for the disabled. They also install and reform many facilities for them. However, They didn't consider the egress of the disabled when fire occurred until today. At present, fire hazard analysis and risk assessment are introduced into Korea regulation for improving fire safety performance of train car and railroad facilities. Fire safety evaluation for the railroad conducted in Korea didn't generally consider the disabled. In the present situation, the study for the egress of the disabled in train car was needed. The egress experiment was conducted to measure the movement speed of the disabled who didn't walk or walk very slow.

  • The electric train is a kind of amusement ride and it is installed in a lot of amusement parks. The object of this study was to analyze and to find out of problem about electrical facilities of amusement electric train. For the purpose of this study, we give careful consideration to the technical standard to be Notification of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy and foreign electrical codes and we carried out an actual condition investigation on twelve amusement electric trains from among domestic amusement parks. As a result, we could how that there is discrepancy between the electrical regulations and the actual condition.

  • A turnout serves to switch train from one line to another. The turnout consists of a Point which is switchs the rail to induce direction, and a Crossing which is cross over two line on the plane surface, and a Lead where is middle section in Point to Crossing. Point machine, consists of a turnout, is important facilities in railway signal, that is safety issue relates in derailment of the train. Recently, train delay and accident frequently occurred because of the turnout include in a point machine trouble of electrical and mechanical. So in order to prevent train accident the research is advanced, install of normal and reverse indication lamp in a point machine, development of adherence detector for sensing the status of adhesion between the stock rails and tongue rails etc. In this paper investigates the problem which is connected with a turnout trouble, include in a point machine, occurrence at the time of train accident, and then proposed to the safety system model in order to prevent the train accident in turnout.
