평탄부 선로에서 철도소음의 전파예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Predition of Train Noise Propagation from a Level Railroad)

  • In order to predict the train noise propagation from a level railroad, this paper presents the model of train noise source and the prediction model based on the results by using the sound intensity method. The prediction model gives the effects of geometric attenuation, ground attenuation, and barrier attenuation of noise. There are several principal assumption in developing model: (a) the train noise is primarily rolling noise; (b) the rail head and wheels are in good condition; (c) the height of source is 10cm above track; (d) the directivity pattern of train noise sources is a dipole source. Calculated results based on this model are compared with available field data and good agreement has been obtained.

한국형 고속철도의 소음 전파특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Propagation Characteristic of Noise Sources for Korea Train Express)

  • In order to control the railway noise, the radiation characteristic of the noise when the train passes by should be analyzed. Generally, the major noise sources of the Korea Train Express are the rolling noise and power unit noise up to 300km/h. In this paper, a train model that is considered to be a row of point sourcesis introduced to analyze the radiation characteristic. The analysis results are compared with the measurement ones. It is shown that the propagation characteristic of the rolling noise is a dipole type and the noise generated by the power unit is radiated as a cosine type. With increasing of the train speed, the noise level at a receiving point is increased in the direction of motion and reduced in the direction opposite to the motion. The analysis results including the moving effect of the noise source at 300km/h show good agreement with the measurement results.

  • The source of wayside noise for the train are the aerodynamic noise, wheel/rail noise, and power unit noise.   • This paper deals with the noise source localization of the Korean High Speed Train (KTX) at the speed of 300 km/h. Using Microfonarray system and beamforming technology typical pass-by noise sources and their frequency characteristics are investigated. It is primarily aimed at investigating the location and characteristics of the high speed train emission. The results from the microphone array tests are also analyzed in relation to the remarks from analytic studies and experimental investigations on the high speed train that have been done with the intention of understanding the interior noise mechanism. The acoustical image shows the low frequency noise sources mainly at the position of the under part of the train at high speeds and the related source mechanism are discussed.

  • Noises are defined as unwanted sound and invoke the physical harm and unconvenience. The higher the noise level is, the more damage peoples have. Low frequency noise is less harmful than high frequency one. In case of train, noises inside of train which is isolated from outer circumstances reduce the convenience of passenger very much. This paper reviewed the noise standard of train for urban subway and investigated the main transformer as the main noise source of train and suggested the method to diminish the noise resulted from main transformer of train and compared the measured results of before and after the improvement of main transformer.

  • Measured acoustic signal from operating high speed train contains frequency change called doppler shift due to its motion. To avoid this doppler shift wind tunnel test is required. But scaledown of model can cause change of source characteristics. And measurements using some part of train cannot reproduce real flow condition. The best way to recognize real noise source characteristics is measurement from operating high speed train but doppler shift makes it hard. So, we developed simple dedopplerization technique for one microphone and applied to field test data of high speed train. Through this, we could capture real frequency of noise from operating high speed train.

The calculation results are compared with short distance measurement. It is shown that the radiation characteristic of the rolling noise is dipole type. The noise generated by the power unit is radiated as the cosine type. The noise level at an observer is increased in the direction of motion and reduced in the direction opposite to the motion with increasing of the train speed. The calculation results including the moving effect of the noise source at 300km/h show in good agreement.

  • An instantaneous environmental noise simulation method emitted by a moving high-speed train by quasi-stationary analysis is proposed in this study. In the method, the propagation attenuations from stationary point sources on segmented railways to a receiver are calculated using a general purpose environmental noise prediction program ENPro based on the ISO 9613-2 method. Then, the instantaneous environmental noise at a receiver due to a moving high-speed train considering convection effect is evaluated with the information on the propagation attenuations from the instantaneous train location to the receiver and the sound power levels and directivity of stationary point sources evaluated by German Schall 03 (2006). To demonstrate the validity of proposed method, simulated and measured time history of instantaneous noise for KTX-I and KTX-II on running are compared and the results show that the method can be utilized for the train noise source identification as well as the simulation of instantaneous environmental noise emitted by a high-speed train.

  • An accurate railway environmental noise prediction model is required to make the proper solution of the railway noise problems. In this paper, an engineering model for predicting the noise of conventional passenger cars is presented considering the acoustic source strength in octave-band frequencies and the propagation over grounds with varying surface properties. Since the formation of a train can be variable, the source strength of each locomotive and passenger car was estimated by measuring the pass-by noise and analysing the wheel-rail rolling noise. Some validation cases show on the average small differences between the predictions of the present model and the measurement results.
