  • In this paper, we analyze previous flow control algorithm for serving ABR traffic, and then propose the algorithm which calculate fair transmission rate and control efficiently ABR traffic using VS/VD switch which has an effect on PNNI environment with long delay. For getting the transmission rate, the proposed algorithm use FMMRA as ER scheme which calculate exactly the fair share. And, in large delay state, we can obtain fair cell sharing by calculating transmission rates which obtained by transmitted queue length information of VD to VS for serve and drain cell in queue Through the computer simulation, we evaluate the performance of proposed algorithm, According to the results, the proposed algorithm shows good performance.

  • Recently the multicast based contents transmission is rapidly increasing due to the various multimedia services and the importance of switching technology to handle it is increasing as a consequence. Though the CICQ architecture has advantages that reduction of HoL blocking probability and simple scheduling using cross point buffer, it has disadvantage that the processing rate of multicast traffic can be significantly degraded corresponds to the traffic load increment. Several schemes have been proposed to solve this problem however they still can't provide enough processing ratio for multicast traffic. Therefore this paper proposes the BA cell assignment scheme and the VT scheme, and the processing rate of multicast traffic can be guaranteed by reducing the HoL blocking probability of multicast traffic and reservation of cross point buffer. Also simulation results verify that using the proposed scheme, the QoS of multicast service can be improved.

  • The flow label field in IPv6 has been proposed to provide the QoS. Since the existing flow label specification scheme like random-number format utilizes the label only as the identifier of flow, it is not appropriate for providing differentiated services according to the characteristics of various types of real-time traffic. This paper proposes a hybrid scheme that makes use of the flow label fields as components of flow and QoS parameters as well. To be specific, this paper investigates a scheme that both guarantees the end-to-end service quality and utilizes efficiently backbone resources by allowing users to specify QoS parameters using flow labels. Assuming an MLPS-TE network as the backbone, we compare the performance of our proposed scheme with that of random-number scheme through simulation. The simulation result shows that our scheme is more efficient than the existing one in terms of the transmission rate as well as the resource utilization of the backbone.

  • In the high-speed packet service, next generation mobile communication system has emerged as a major feature. If the fire of these high-speed kit services and non-continuous transmission of data due to the symmetrical nature of daeyiteo traffic for D-CDMA system has been actively studied. Small amounts of data moving in the uplink, but the real-time video downlink transmission, such as downloading large files to move data and services to those with asymmetric traffic characteristics, a system that can efficiently handle the data requirements be. Of 3GPP TDD(Time Division Duplex) scheme based on CDMA and TDMA in a way by introducing the concept through the proper allocation of time slots that can handle asymmetric traffic efficiently, has an advantage. TD-CDMA system by considering the characteristics of the frame configuration of transmission methods, such as physical channel structure and channel coding has been investigated. In addition, the HARQ scheme TD-CDMA system performance is analyzed by comparing them.

  • In this paper, we study an asymmetric two-way relaying network where two source nodes intend to exchange information with the help of multiple relay nodes. A hybrid time-division broadcast relaying scheme with joint relay selection (RS) and power allocation (PA) is proposed to realize energy-efficient transmission. Our scheme is based on the asymmetric level of the two source nodes' target signal-to-noise ratio indexes to minimize the total power consumed by the relay nodes. An optimization model with joint RS and PA is studied here to guarantee hybrid relaying transmissions. Next, with the aid of our proposed intelligent optimization algorithm, which combines a genetic algorithm and a simulated annealing algorithm, the formulated optimization model can be effectively solved. Theoretical analyses and numerical results verify that our proposed hybrid relaying scheme can substantially reduce the total power consumption of relays under a traffic asymmetric scenario; meanwhile, the proposed intelligent optimization algorithm can eventually converge to a better solution.

  • In this paper, we propose a real time QoS(Quality of Service) guaranteed transmission mechanism for MPEG video traffic at the congested node in IP based networks. Recent spread of the Internet has increased the demands of a real time multimedia service of the quality, Because the type of Internet services can, however, offer the best effort delivery strategies, it is difficult to treat all the types of traffic with differential COS (Class of Service). Most of all, the hierarchical coding method of MPEG data utilizes the reference frame for the motion prediction. The loss of the reference frames makes QoS of the video traffic degraded because the reference frame bit error causes the consecutive packet loss. Therefore we have studied the real time QoS guaranteed mechanism for video traffic by analyzing the previous methods. Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme has better performance than the previous one.

  • In this paper, we have described the implementation of a practical simulation tool to design and analyze communication networks. Especially, this study is focused on the implementation and application methods of a simulator supporting VoIP The key characteristics of this particular system are its easy and intuitive usage, the real behaviors implementation of equipment and protocols, the actual generation and transmission of traffic for simulation, supporting of VoIP and so forth. Our system is distinguished from the existing tools which define only the nature of voice traffic, process those packets in the same way as general data, and analyze only the quality of packet transmission such as delay. Our tool presented in this paper generates and processes packets in different way according to the types of traffic distinguishing call signal from voice information traffic. Also, we equipped this system with the various devices such as VoIP gateway and gatekeeper, which enabled this system to analyze the performance of devices and the quality of voice traffic transmission between PSTN and Internet. By presenting the implementation methods and application of this system, we managed to propose the utilization scheme of a simulation tool.

  • Ranging is divided into a synchronous scheme and an asynchronous scheme according to the presence of global synchronization between nodes. In general, the asynchronous ranging is preferred over synchronous ranging because it does not require an expensive high-precision oscillator for the global synchronization. On the other hand, in a conventional asynchronous ranging scheme, the packets, which are generated by all nodes in a positioning system of a large-scale infrastructure and need to be sent for localization by reference nodes, are considerable, which cause an increase in network traffic as the number of nodes increases. The traffic congestion lowers the throughput of the network leading to a considerable loss of energy. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a ranging scheme, in which virtual transmission slots randomly and discretely selected by a plurality of nodes are used to reduce the overheads needed in synchronizing the nodes, and the ranging is performed asynchronously based on the virtual transmission slots, thereby decreasing the network traffic. In addition, a performance test proved that the proposed ranging scheme was stronger than the TWR and SDS-TWR on an error range, even though the intensity of traffic was very low.

  • This paper proposes and analyzes an error control scheme for the transmission control based real-time communication, such as FDDI, TDMA, and wireless LAN, which delivers the message according to the round robin fashion after the off-line bandwidth allocation. Taking into account the time constraint of each message, the proposed error control scheme makes the receiver transmit the error report via asynchronous traffic while the sender resend the requested message via overallocated access time which is inevitably introduced by the bandwidth allocation procedure for hard real -time guarantee. The error control procedure does not interfere other real -time message transmissions. In addition, as each frame contains the size of the message it belongs, the receiver can recognize the end of completion of message transmission. This enables earlier error report to the receiver so that the sender can cope with more network errors. The analysis results along with simulation performed via SMPL show that the proposed scheme is able to enhance the deadline meet ratio of messages by overcoming the network errors. Using the proposed error control scheme, the hard real -time network can be built at cost lower than, but performance comparable to the expensive dual link network.

  • In this paper, we propose a buffer management scheme for decreasing the packet loss due to buffer overflow and improving the packet fairness between nodes in IEEE 802.11 based multi-hop mesh networks. In the proposed scheme, each mesh router that is an intermediate node receives fairly packet sent from neighboring mesh routers and mobile nodes, and it improves the reception ratio of multi-hop traffic of neighboring mesh routers. Therefore, the proposed scheme can reduce transmission delay and energy consumption. In order to improving the packet loss and the packet fairness, the proposed scheme uses the modified RTS/CTS under the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol and reduces the packet loss by recognizing the packet size to send to the destination in advance. By using the simulation, we evaluated the proposed scheme in terms of the packet loss ratio and the number of received packet in each mesh router, and compare it to a traditional scheme.
