  • With rapid industrial development, railway has become a main traffic means. But, the railway noise has caused much annoyance for the residents living nearby railway track. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the environmental Quality criteria for railway noise like the environmental quality criteria for traffic noise. In this study, the domestic and foreign criteria for railway noise were investigated with analysis of existing data and an field survey of noise condition near a railway. Fundamental data are provided for establishment of environmental Quality criteria for railway noise.

Optimal Provider Mobility in Large-Scale Named- Data Networking

  • Named-Data Networking (NDN) is one of the promising approaches for the Future Internet to cope with the explosion and current usage pattern of Internet traffic. Content provider mobility in the NDN allows users to receive real-time traffic when the content providers are on the move. However, the current solutions for managing these mobile content providers suffer several issues such as long handover latency, high cost, and non-optimal routing path. In this paper, we survey main approaches for provider mobility in NDN and propose an optimal scheme to support the mobile content providers in the large-scale NDN domain. Our scheme predicts the movement of the provider and uses state information in the NDN forwarding plane to set up an optimal new routing path for mobile providers. By numerical analysis, our approach provides NDN users with better service access delay and lower total handover cost compared with the current solutions.

  • 네트워크 응용 서비스들은 점점 더 복잡해지고 있으며, 네트워크 통신 기술의 발전과 함께 네트워크의 특성, 네트워크 관리 및 혼잡 제어에 대한 높은 요구 사항을 제시하므로 네트워크 트래픽 분류가 점점 더 중요해지고 있다. 트래픽 분류는 다양한 특성에 따라 네트워크 트래픽을 여러 클래스로 분류하여 처리하는 작업이다. 본 논문에서는 현재 네트워크 분야에서 적용된 여러 트래픽 분류 기법을 조사한다. 이를 통해 SDN(Software Defined Networking) 환경에서 효율적인 트래픽 분류가 가능한 기법 선택을 위해 비교하며 향후 연구를 위해 트래픽 분류 기법들을 소개한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to prepare countermeasures for aggressive driving and road rage which have recently become a hot issue by analysing mechanism of how the driving behavior determinants(personal anger and aggression) and dangerous driving behavior factors(aggressive driving behavior and over-speeding driving behavior, drunk driving behavior, inattentive driving behavior, and inexperience driving behavior) affect aggressive driving and road rage. From the survey conducted by seven branches of the Road Traffic Authority with 351 people who were traffic offenders and drivers who caused car accidents, this study obtained three results as follows. First, seriousness of aggressive driving and road rage and requirements as types of customized educations, proper length of time for education, and contents of education can be understood. Second, specific relation and mechanism between the driving behavior determinants and dangerous driving behavior factors with respect to aggressive driving and road rage can be clearly identified, which helps to set order of priority and weighting of measures for reducing aggressive driving and road rage. Third, countermeasures can be categorized as corporate measures or customized measures through mechanism analysis model of aggressive driving and road rage.

  • There were many theories to suggest the indicators that evaluate stability and reflect the plan in mixed traffic street in all traffic modes This Paper analyzed residential street of Suwon City adopting time-space occupancy index among these indicates. Three survey street. congregated into apartment house. were selected to analyze this and pictured by video camera over one hour. and the length of these street were 76m, 55m, and 34m each, and major street by each region, comparably high in Pedestrians and pass vehicles, were selected. Basic datum to calculate time-space occupancy index and time-space occupancy index per person was gathered through video analysis. i.e Parameters for pedestrians, cars, bicycles, average speed of bicycles, and parking car. There are some limitation to analyze LOS of mixed traffic street in all traffic modes, not pedestrian mall. Therefore this paper presented evaluation standard of LOS. In conclusion. the aim of this paper is to suggest modeling based on guidelines for evaluating LOS of mixed traffic street in all traffic modes. It is estimated that this will be influencing indicates for improving pedestrian environment, and Planning mixed traffic street in future.

Drivers' Understanding of Traffic Pavement Markings (교통노면표시 이해도에 관한 연구)

  • Traffic pavement markings are one of primary transportation facilities that provide drivers with various road information directly. Thus, a clear understanding of traffic pavement markings is utmost important to improve traffic safety as well as to establish a proper traffic culture. However, no past studies examined drivers' understanding of traffic pavement markings in Korea. Hence, this study investigated drivers' understanding of traffic pavement markings through an elaborated administrated survey, and analyzed the relationship between various drivers' characteristics and understanding regarding pavement marking via cross-classification table and logistic model. The analysis results show that drivers have limited understanding regarding the purpose of the markings. Specifically, the average understanding of pavement markings is 57.41%: the lowest understanding is 25.88% for yield pavement marking, and the highest understanding is 91.18% for advanced pedestrian crosswalk pavement marking. This study also revealed that the understanding of some pavement markings are somewhat influenced by user group such as drivers with suspended or revoked driver licenses, but the overall understanding of pavement markings are not significantly affected by drivers' characteristics such as gender and driving experiences at ${\alpha}$=0.05. Thus, it might be desirable for policy makers to establish pavement marking-related policies for overall drivers rather than specific drivers.

A research on regional differences in traffic environments and driver's behaviors in Korea (교통환경과 운전자 행동 요인의 전국 지역별 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in the traffic environments and driving behaviors in 5 regions of Korea. Data were collected through the survey research from 1387 passenger car drivers in 14 locations in Korea. The main findings of this research are as followings: First of all, There were significant differences in traffic environment factors(road topography, construction, road & safety facilities, pedestrian behaviors, surrounding drivers) among 5 regional areas. When we examined drivers factors, there were significant differences among 5 metropolitan areas on wearing seat belt, most of constructions related to drink driving, speed-limit violation. There were many differences in driving habits, intentions, behaviors including wearing seat belt, driving after drinking according to metropolitan area, and also in case of speed-limit violation and careless driving behavior. These results suggested that there are many differences in traffic environments and driver's behaviors among regional areas. These result suggests that traffic safety policy and practice should be prepared based upon the peculiarities of regional area. We discussed these resulte in terms of the regional traffic policy and the suggestions for future studies were added.

Estimation of Freight Trip Generation Rates based on Commodity Flow Survey in Korea

  • In Korea, almost 700 industrial parks are under operation. Generally, industrial parks consist of national industrial parks and local industrial parks which are managed by a central government and by local governments respectively. The developing countries such as Korea, China and Vietnam etc. have constructed many industrial parks, which result in the change of land use pattern and also affect future trip demands. Therefore, in estimating traffic demands, it is very important to consider the industrial park development. This study aims to improve the methodology in estimating a freight trip generation rate with the data based on a nationwide commodity freight survey. The result showed that it is desirable to apply freight trip generation rate by the industry sector in estimating freight trip generations and using the production area of firm as an indicator. Specially, the reliability of the rates through a survey could be made sure because a sample rate based on firms in industrial parks was over 25% and the response rate was over 67%. The sample rate and response rate are very superior as compared to surveys conducted in many other countries. Because industrial parks have significant effects on forecasting transportation demand in pre-feasibility studies of transport and logistics projects, it is expected that the accuracy of freight trip demands would be improved through the results of this study.

A Survey on Acute Traffic Injury Patient's Perception on Korean Herbal Medicine (급성기 교통사고 상해 환자의 한약 복용에 관한 인식 조사)

  • Objectives This survey study is designed to check the awareness and satisfaction of Korean herbal medicine in patients suffering from acute traffic accidents. Methods From May 1 to 20, 2020, patients who visited the hospital within 7 days after the accident and received prescription of Korean herbal medicine for the first-time symptoms were selected. Survey was conducted 10 days after the first visit to confirm the perception of Korean herbal medicine and expected to be used as a prior study to improve the quality of Korean medicine led by Korean herbal medicine. Results Most patients answered that they were aware of the prescribed Korean herbal medicine's dosage and treatment effects. 65% of the patients said they would like to receive other forms of prescription if possible. Most patients answered that portability is convenient and tastes better than normal. 48% of the respondents said that it was the first to time to take Korean herbal medicine, and 68% said that they were willing to take the Korean herbal medicine later. At the time of the first visit, the health condition assessed using EuroQol visual analogue scale (EQ-VAS) was 46.84, but 10 days after the treatment began, it increased significantly to 61.93. Conclusions The improvement of symptoms and high satisfaction with Korean medicine medical services contributed to the patient's willingness to visit the Korean medicine hospital again and to respond that they were willing to take further medication. EQ-VAS elevation suggests that overall patients' subjective health conditions have improved since treatment.
