도로교통소음 예측식의 개발 (Development of a Simulation Software of Traffic Noise)

  • Before building houses or apartments, we need to predict noise propagation to eliminate possible noise problems to residents. However, we do not try to predict noise propagation during estimation of noise effect for the developing area since we did not have a good mathematical model to predict noise level due to a traffic noise. In this article, an adequate mathematical model has been developed and proved to predict noise effect to living area due to a traffic noise.

원형검지기와 기존검지기의 비교 분석에 관한 연구 (A Comparison Between Round Loop and Existing Octagonal Loop Detectors)

  • In order to operate the computerized traffic signal system, it requires the detectors which ensure the exact detections of actual traffic data (e.g., traffic volume, occupancy and velocity of vehicles). The octagonal detectors are used currently in Korea. However, the maintenance of the detectors has many problems with the road repairs and the constructions on the pavement, and failure due to the disconnection of the wires. Serious delay due to the long installation time of loops also causes the traffic disturbances. The low sensitivities and splash-over effect can sometimes create error data after installation of the octagonal loops. The mai purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of domestic use of the round (circular) inductive loops which developed recently in U.S.A. It was found that the round loops are comparable to the existing octagonal loops. In addition, the use of the high quality of materials in the round loop system can reduce the current problems and weakpoints of the octagonal loops. The installation cost of the round loop was found out as economic as the octagonal loop. The installation time of the round loop system can be reduced with the specially equipped loop truck, and wide/deep slots without sharp corners can extend the durability without serious stress of loop head wires. In conclusion, the round loop is superior to the octagonal type in overall points. It is recommended that the localization of the materials and equipments of round loop system is required to carry out the extensive local installations. Also, several contractors to meet the nationwide demand should be arranged to gurantee the proper maintenance and operation of the systems.

  • In the beginning of the 21s1 century, the world has been making rapid progress and changed all over the areas. Like the rest, as all domiciliary circumstances for a local development have changed, the continuous development considered environmental view has been accounted as much compared with the high growth-oriented development based on the efficiency so far. As the volume of traffic in urban community increases, the environmental load enlarges inevitably. Particularly, the excess and deficiency problems for all sorts of traffic facilities, like the shortage of parking lots continue to happen in proportion to the increase in traffic. For a design to solve these problems, introduction of the Geographic Information System; GIS applied widely over various fields become necessary. In this research, the supply-demand situation in urban areas is observed. The application of GIS for the purpose of the improvement of parking lot management technique to control effectively facilities related to parking lot in the city brings promoting the efficiency of business data inquiry, data management data correction and so on through graphic and non-graphic database for every kind of draft data, record and register data. The graphic users interface to support effective decision-making is applied for the improvement of work in this study. This research also suggests the way to utilize common database considered linkage with sub-systems related existing urban information system by developing the parking lot management system.

도로교통관련 대기오염평가 GIS지원시스템 (GIS-supported Evaluation System for Road Traffic-related Air Pollution)

  • 도로교통환경문제는 현대의 도시생활에 있어서 세계공통의 심각한 환경문제의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 도로교통환경문제, 특히 도로교통에 기인하는 대기오염문제의 평가를 위한 지원시스템을 개발하였다. 본 개발시스템은 GIS, 교통관련의 대기오염시뮬레이션모델, 예비적 대책들의 데이타베이스로 구성되어 있다. 대기오염시뮬레이션모델의 구축에 있어서, GIS지원환경은 연구대상지역의 대량의 공간정보의 처리와 실제위치상에서의 보다 정확한 대기오염의 계산이라는 점에서 유용한 툴(tool)을 제공할 수 있다. GIS지원시스템의 이러한 역할은 보다 효율적인 분석과 보다 합리적인 결정을 위하여 매우 유용한 것이다. 본 연구에서 개발된 시스템의 실용성은 이집트 카이로시의 도시권을 연구대상지역으로 적용함으로써 그 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

델파이 조사에 의한 교통안전시설 관련업무체계 개선방안 (A study on improving the organizational structure of traffic safety facilities operation using a delphi technique)

  • 본 연구는 도로상에 설치, 유지·관리되는 교통안전시설 관련업무체계의 개선방안을 모색함에 그 목적이 있다. 현재 교통안전시설 관련업무는 예산과 대다수 인력은 지방자치단체에서 지원되나, 업무의 주관은 중앙행정기관인 경찰이 수행하는 이원화된 체계로 인하여 많은 문제점이 유발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 델파이기법을 이용하여 교통안전시설 관련 업무체계의 문제점을 분석하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. 설문결과는 설문대상자 전체 또는 이해관계그룹별로 분석하였으며, 다차원척도법을 이용하여 하나의 지각도상에 표현하여 분석하기도 하였다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 할 때, 교통안전시설 관련업무체계는 일원화되어야 하는 바, 구체적으로는 지방자치단체내에 전문기관이 설립, 운영되는 것이 최적대안으로 제시되었으며, 교통경찰을 지방경찰화하는 것이 차선대안으로 제시되었다.

The Effect of Work Environment and Compensation on Work Motivation and Performance: A Case Study in Indonesia

  • Directorate of Traffic of the Regional Police D.I. Yogyakarta as part of the Indonesian Republic Police (Polri) institution also experiences problems related to the performance of police members as well as the Polri institution in general. The problems which relate to the police performance are influenced by various factors such as low compensation and as a result low motivation in the work environment of Directorate of Traffic of the Regional Police D.I. Yogyakarta. Therefore, the objective of this study is to empirically test and prove the effect of the work environment and compensation on work motivation and police performance of Directorate of Traffic of the Regional Police D.I. Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This study used a survey method for collecting data. By using proportional stratified random sampling, 143 members of Directorate of Traffic of the Regional Police D.I. Yogyakarta were selected as the respondents. The results of this study indicate that work environment has a positive effect on work motivation, police performance as well as compensation on work motivation and police performance. In addition, work motivation has a positive effect on police performance. Thus, this study concludes that work motivation mediates the effect of work environment and compensation on police performance.

교통안전진단 개선방안들의 우선순위 산정 연구 (A Study on Practical Method of Utility Curve for Deciding Priority Order of the Improvements in Traffic Safety Audit)

  • Recently, a massive loss of life and property is occurring in Korea due to traffic accidents, with the rapid increase in cars. For improvement of traffic safety, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority intensively analyzes accident data in local governments with low traffic safety index, performs a field investigation to extract problems and offers local governments improvements for problems, by conducting the 'Special Survey of Actual Conditions of Traffic Safety' each year, starting 2008. But local governments cannot strongly push forward the improvement projects due to the limited budget and the uncertainty of the improvement plan effects. Therefore, this study suggested a model which applied the Utility concept to the AHP theory, in order to efficiently decide a priority of the improvement plans in accident black spots in consideration of the limited budget of local governments. The number of accidents in each spot for improvement and accident severity, traffic volume, pedestrian volume, the improvement project cost and the accident reduction effect were chosen as evaluation factors for deciding a priority, and data about the improvement plan costs and the accident reduction effects, traffic accidents and traffic volume in the spots to undergo the special research on the real condition of traffic accident in the past were collected from the existing studies. Then, regression analysis was carried out and the Utility Curve of each evaluation factor was computed. Based on the AHP analysis findings, this study devised a priority decision method which calculated the weight and the utility function of each evaluation factor and compared the total utility values. The AHP analysis findings showed that among the evaluation factors, accident severity had the biggest importance and it was followed by the improvement plan cost, the number of accidents, the improvement effect, traffic volume and pedestrian volume. The calculated utility function shows a rise in utility, as the variables of the 5 evaluation factors; the number of accidents, accident severity, the improvement plan effect, traffic volume and pedestrian volume increase and a fall in utility, as the variables of the improvement plan cost increase, since the improvement plan cost is included in the budget spent by a local government.

대한민국 고속도로를 위한 교통 분석 및 시뮬레이션 시스템 (Traffic Analysis and Simulation System for Korea Highway)

  • 선진국에서는 이미 다양한 지능형 교통 시스템(ITS) 기술을 실제 도로에 적용하여 교통 문제를 해결하고 있고 국내에서도 이를 도입하여 많은 교통문제를 완화시킬 수 있을 것으로 전망된다. 하지만 국외 교통 환경에 적용된 기존 ITS 솔루션들을 실제 국내 도로에 적용하였을 때 예기치 못한 문제의 발생으로 많은 비용을 낭비할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 위의 문제를 해결하기 위해 대한민국 고속도로 분석 및 시뮬레이션 시스템인 KHTA를 제안한다. KHTA는 국내 모든 고속도로의 정보를 분석할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 재현된 국내 교통 환경에서 직접 구현한 ITS 알고리즘을 시뮬레이션하고 결과를 분석할 수 있다. 사용자는 KHTA를 이용하여 실제 도로에 ITS 장비와 시스템을 설치하는 비용을 들이지 않고도 ITS 알고리즘을 국내 도로에 적용했을 때의 기대효과와 부작용을 예측하고 이를 수정 및 보완할 수 있다. KHTA의 기능과 대한민국 도로에 ITS 알고리즘을 적용한 시뮬레이션의 효과를 검증하기 위해 국내 고속도로 전용 Ramp Metering 알고리즘을 구현하고 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다. 실험 결과 약 5분가량의 Total Travel Time이 감소하였고, 기존 정체구간의 일부분이 해소된 것이 확인되었고, 이를 통해 KHTA는 국내 교통 환경에서 ITS 시스템의 시뮬레이션 및 교통 분석을 할 수 있다는 것을 확인 하였다. 그러므로 국내 ITS 시스템 개발 및 분석에 많은 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 예상한다.

Traffic Flow Prediction Model Based on Spatio-Temporal Dilated Graph Convolution

  • With the increase of motor vehicles and tourism demand, some traffic problems gradually appear, such as traffic congestion, safety accidents and insufficient allocation of traffic resources. Facing these challenges, a model of Spatio-Temporal Dilated Convolutional Network (STDGCN) is proposed for assistance of extracting highly nonlinear and complex characteristics to accurately predict the future traffic flow. In particular, we model the traffic as undirected graphs, on which graph convolutions are built to extract spatial feature informations. Furthermore, a dilated convolution is deployed into graph convolution for capturing multi-scale contextual messages. The proposed STDGCN integrates the dilated convolution into the graph convolution, which realizes the extraction of the spatial and temporal characteristics of traffic flow data, as well as features of road occupancy. To observe the performance of the proposed model, we compare with it with four rivals. We also employ four indicators for evaluation. The experimental results show STDGCN's effectiveness. The prediction accuracy is improved by 17% in comparison with the traditional prediction methods on various real-world traffic datasets.

데이터 기반의 세종시 교통안전망 강화 방안 연구 (Data-based Traffic Safety Strategy for Sejong City)

  • 세종특별자치시의 교통량 폭증으로 인한 교통 문제 증가 추세는 시설 인프라의 투자로는 해결하기 어려운 수준에 이르러 데이터 기반의 지능형 교통환경 구축이 필수적이다. 교통데이터를 활용해 교통안전정책을 수립한 국내·외 사례를 알아보고 세종특별자치시 교통정보 및 데이터 활용 실태 등을 분석하여 CCTV를 활용한 주차정보 제공, 스마트 교통신호제어시스템 구축, 안전지키미 드롭존 설치방안을 제안한다. 본 연구가 향후 세종특별자치시의 교통 안전망 강화 정책 수립의 기반이 되기를 기대한다.
