Variable Queue Sharing Mechanism for ATM Traffic (ATM 트래픽을 위한 가변큐공유(VQS) 메카니즘)

  • This paper proposes the mechanism of cell buffering in the output buffer of ATM switch for the traffic with the different QOS in the ATM environment. The proposed mechanism, VQS(Variable Queue Sharing) can minimize the cell loss ratio(CLR) of bursty traffic through the sharing of CBR queue, VBR queue, ABR queue to maximize the utilization of queue resource. To evaluate VQS performance, we make simulator using Visual Slam 2.0. We compare the CLP and cell average delay of VQS and HOL, QLT_HOL using the bursty traffic patterns.

  • Slicing Radio Access Network (RAN) can help in effectively utilizing the network bandwidth and to better manage the increasing traffic over interent. RAN slicing system discussed in this paper is based on an open-source slicing mechanism in which we write a JSON configuration file for slicing policy and send it to the FlexRAN controller. FlexRAN controlls the core networks (CNs) through OAI-RAN on the evolved packet core (EPC) component of this system. Each CN is responsible for handling a saperate RAN slice. The type of internet traffic is identified by the FlexRAN crontroller and is sent to the respective CN through OAI-RAN. CN handles the traffic according to the allocated bandwidth and in this way the internet traffic is sliced inside the EPC component.

  • This paper describes system and its algorithm which can measure traffic flow on the road by using industrial television applied in industry. This algorithm is using the real-time processing of dynamic scenes. The processing algorithm of dynamic scenes is developed and proved its validity by designing VISC (Video Information Sampler and Converter). The accuracy of this algorithm is enhanced by allocating sampling points in cross-direction of the vehicles.

  • This paper suggested to solve ATM switch performance and service rate which was input buffer managed scheme in ATM network with burst traffic characteristics, For this purpose, ATM multiplexer is prepared before sending for handling burst random input traffic to multiplex and then sort based on cell inter-arrival time and cell processing due time which had been marked after that. The server looks for cell header with the most shortest due time and sends it, thus it is satisfied that real time traffic for instance CBR and rt-VBR was guaranteed cell processing time to send fast than non real time traffic. For analysis of ATM switch performance with cell processing due time and priority, each output port has divided into four different virtual buffer and each buffer has assigned different cell inter-arrival time and processing due time according to ATM Forum for example CBT/rt-VBR, nrt-VBR, ABR and UBR and showed it’s optimal service parameters then analyzed service rate behaviors according to each traffic characteristics.

UPC Schemes on the Frame Relay/ATM Interworking in ATM Networks (FR/ATM 연동에서의 UPC 방식)

  • Frame relay needs UPC function for the multiplexed logical connections to prevent malicious user traffic from incoming to network, to guarantee the QoS of conformed user traffic, and to protect the normal operation of network system. On the FR/ATM interworking in ATM networks, the UPC may be conducted either by cell-based ATM UPC or frame-based FR UPC. Frames come into and traverse ATm networks by segmentation to ATM cells. Of course, FR QoS should be guaranteed in spite of segmentation and reassembly in ATM networks. In this paper, we compared the QoS of cell-based ATM UPC and frame-based FR UPC in terms of analysis and simulation in case of ingress of excess traffic over negotiated traffic parameters at user-to-network interface. Also we studied frame-based UPC schemes including window-based FR UPC and frame-based VSA which is an ATM UPC algorithm recommended by ITU-T. We described introductions to frame relay including frame structure and FR/ATM interworking, FR traffic parameters and their relationship, comparison of FR QoS between frame-based FR UPC and cell-based ATM UPC, comparison of FR UPC schemes, necessities of egress traffic control, and conclusions.

  • Due to continuous change in traffic and increase in traffic volumes at the intersection, efficient traffic control system is required to manage road situations flexibly in accordance with the change occurring every hour. In this paper, we study the control systems which will help us to determine the interva ls of intersection following the autonomous analysis of complexity of the road. Fuzzy logic control concept was applied to the fuzzy logic controller(FLC) for controlling traffic signal. Furthermore the fuzzy signal systems were compare with the regular signal systems to prove higher performance of the FLC presente d in the paper. By means of simulation, the validity of FLC was proven. About 6% increase in the efficiency of traffic control based on the proposed algorithm in this paper was when we use the simulation.

  • Because of road construction and expansion, Update of the road traffic facilities DB is steadily increased each year, and, Increasing drivers and cars, safety signs for traffic safety are required management and additional installation continuously. To update Safety Sign database promptly, we have developed auto recognition function of safety sign, and analyzed coordinates accuracy. The purpose of this study was to propose methods to update about road traffic facilities efficiently. For this purpose, omni-directional camera was calibrated for acquisition of 3-dimensional coordinates, integrated GPS/IMU/DMI system and applied image processing. In this experiment, we proposed a effective method to update database of road traffic facilities for digital map.

  • this paper is a stucy onthe preductionof multi-media traffic flow for the realizationof optimum ATM congestion control. In ATM network it is expected that the characteristic of multi-media traffic flow is varied slowly with a time. Fjor the simulation, time-variable multi-media traffic is penerated using possion distribution(connect calls per process time).\, gamma distribution(transmission rate per a call) and exponential distribution(holding time per a call). And using back-propagation neural netwok and proposed tripple neural network, the simulation to predict generaed traffic is executed. From the result,it's capability is shown that the proposed neural network model can be used in the predictionof ATM traffic flow.

  • To promote the inclusion of end-to-end congestion control in the design of future protocols using best-effort traffic, we propose a router mechanism, Extended FRED(ex-FRED). In this paper, we catagorize the TCP controlled traffics into robust and fragile traffic and discuss several unfairness conditions between them caused by the diverse applications. For example, fragile traffic from bursty application cannot use its fair share due to their slow adaptation. Ex-FRED modifies the FRED(Fair Random Early Drop), which can show wrong information due to the narrow view of actual buffer. Therefore, Ex-FRED uses per-flow accounting in larger virtual buffer to impose an each flow a loss rate that depends on the virtual buffer use of a flow. The simulation results show that Ex-FRED uses fair share and has good throughput.

  • Multiprotocol Label Switching is an initiating IETF that integrated Layer2 information network links(bandwidth, latency, utilization) to Layer 3(IP) with a particular autonomous system(or ISP) in order to simplify and improve IP-packet exchange. MPLS gives network operators a grate deal of flexibility to divert and route traffic around link failures, congestion, and bottlenecks. The MPLS has advantages that will be able to solve existing problem of Network that ISP have had IP, QoS, Gigabit forwarding and traffic engineering. The purpose of this study is to measure Access-list and the capacities of PE Router that would operate as MPLS. Many ISP using MPLS service to handle high-speed internet traffic with apply to firewall in future.
