Health Monitoring Method for Bridges Using Ambient Vibration Data due to Traffic Loads (교통하중에 의한 상시미진동을 이용한 교량의 건전도 감시기법)

  • This paper presents intermediate results of an on-going research for identification of the modal and the stiffness parameters of a bridge based on the ambient vibration data caused by the traffic loadings. The main algorithms consist of the random decrement method incorporating band-pass filters for estimation of the free vibration signals the cross spectral density method for identification of the modal parameters and the neural networks technique for estimation of the element-level stiffness changes. An experimental study is carried out on a scaled bridge model with a composite section subjected to various moving vehicle loadings. Vertical accelerations are measured at several locations on the girder. The estimated frequencies and mode shapes are found to be well-compared with those obtained from the impact tests. The estimated stiffness changes using the neural networks are found to be very good for the case with the simulated data. However the accuracy is found to be not quite satisfactory for the case with the experimental data particularly for the small value of the stiffness changes.

  • Since the value of travel time savings is found to be the most important benefit of transportation projects, considerable work has been done on the estimation of the value of travel time in many countries, including U. S. A. England, Australia, and Korea. And majority of them was mode choice model. This paper estimated the VTTS for commuters using traffic regulation obedience market model, which had not been applied in any previous studies, and survey data, which was obtained using Contingent Valuation Method. The result meets our expectations.

  • In this paper we analyzed a dangerous failure and a safety requirement based on HIA (Hazard Identification and Analysis) of an interface model between CTC (Centralized Traffic Control) system and El (Interlocking) system, and assigned SU (Safety Integrity Level) by way of an risk estimation of the interface, which employed PHA (Preliminary Hazard Analysis) for the interface of the track control system, being managed as separated system between the centralized traffic control system and the interlocking system, An estimation which satisfies a safety reference of the international standard has been achieved through a quantification of the system failure rate and the dangerous failure rate of the interface model.

  • In this paper, a new technique was suggested to estimate vehicle speed for the traffic accident reconstruction, and accident investigators can estimate initial vehicle speed based on this suggested technique. Turning tests with several vehicle speeds were executed and compared with the motion of the vehicle and the shape of the tire marks. A new method for estimating the coefficient of friction is suggested by using the longitudinal and lateral components of tire marks. And also, a speed calculation graph is suggested to estimate vehicle speed for traffic accident reconstruction.

  • Recently, there has been growing interest in Gyongin Line demand estimation, because SMRT(Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation) Line 7 will be extended west by 9.8km from Onsu to meet the Gyongin Line at Bupyeong-gu Office. This study was designed to estimate the change of traffic demand in Gyongin Line before and after the completion year 2011, also provide against the economic loss caused by the derived demand from Gyongin Line to SMRT Line 7. In this paper we give preliminary results for the strategic plans for traffic demand estimation and train operating plan in Gyongin Line by analyzing transport performance of Seoul metropolitan subway, and an additional study on the transportation market and the urban development plan is needed for more accurate results.

  • 본 논문은 무선 메쉬 네트워크의 다중 라디오 인터페이스와 다중 채널을 이용한 효율적인 멀티홉 무선 전송을 위한 네트워크 라우팅에 관해 다룬다. 이를 위한 라우팅 매트릭으로는 각 중간 노드의 대역폭 사용량 정보에 기반한 대역폭 예상 변화량을 사용하여 실제 데이터 전송이 진행될 때 기존 보다 안정적인 전송이 가능하도록 유도한다. 멀티 인터페이스 / 멀티 채널의 수의 제약이 존재하는 현실적인 경우를 고려하여 라우팅 매트릭을 정립하고 라우팅 알고리즘을 설계하였다. NS-2 시뮬레이터를 이용한 시뮬레이션 평가를 통해 트래픽 사용량 정보에 기반한 제안 알고리즘이 기존 MIMC 라우팅 알고리즘보다 개선된 성능을 보여준다.

Determination of Multicast Routing Scheme for Traffic Overload in On-Line Game (온라인 게임에서 트래픽 부하 상태에 따른 멀티캐스트 라우팅 방식의 결정)

  • The deployment of multicast communication services in the Internet is expected to lead a stable packet transfer even in heavy traffic as in On-Line Game environment. The Core Based Tree scheme among many multicast protocols is the most popular and suggested recently. However, CBT exhibit two major deficiencies such as traffic concentration or poor core placement problem. So, measuring the bottleneck link bandwidth along a path is important for understanding the performance of multicast. We propose not only a definition of CBT's core link state that Steady-State(SS), Normal-State(NS) and Bottleneck State(BS) according to the estimation link speed rate, but also the changeover of multicast routing scheme for traffic overload. In addition, we introduce anycast routing tree, a efficient architecture for construct shard multicast trees.

  • This paper discussed to the ATM traffic measurement and analysis tool for analyzing the ATM traffic properties. This tool was applied at the ATM commercial network. The analysis result is verified effectivity to improve network resource from 20% to 50%. Thus, this tool usefully can be used to network plan for the network expansion and new network building. Also, it can be used to the demand estimation of the ATM network traffic.

Predictive Analysis of Traffic Accidents caused by Negligence of Safe Driving in Elderly using Seasonal ARIMA (계절 ARIMA 모형을 이용한 고령운전자의 안전운전불이행에 의한 교통사고건수 예측분석)

  • Even though cars have a good effect on modern society, traffic accidents do not. There are traffic laws that define the regulations and aim to reduce accidents from happening; nevertheless, it is hard to determine all accident causes such as road and traffic conditions, and human related factors. If a traffic accident occurs, the traffic law classifies it as 'Negligence of Safe Driving' for cases that are not defined by specific regulations. Meanwhile, as Korea is already growing rapidly elderly population with more than 65 years, so are the number of traffic accidents caused by this group. Therefore, we studied predictive and comparative analysis of the number of traffic accidents caused by 'Negligence of Safe Driving' by dividing it into two groups : All-ages and Elderly. In this paper, we used empirical monthly data from 2007 to 2015 collected by TAAS (Traffic Accident Analysis System), identified the most suitable ARIMA forecasting model by using the four steps of the Box-Jenkins method : Identification, Estimation, Diagnostics, Forecasting. The results of this study indicate that ARIMA $(1, 1, 0)(0, 1, 1)_{12}$ is the most suitable forecasting model in the group of All-ages; and ARIMA $(0, 1, 1)(0, 1, 1)_{12}$ is the most suitable in the group of Elderly. Then, with this fitted model, we forecasted the number of traffic accidents for 2 years of both groups. There is no large fluctuation in the group of All-ages, but the group of Elderly shows a gradual increase trend. Finally, we compared two groups in terms of the forecast, suggested a countermeasure plan to reduce traffic accidents for both groups.
