이동통신 멀티미디어 데이터서비스의 트래픽 특성 모델링 및 성능분석 (Traffic Modeling and Performance Analysis of Mobile Multimedia Data Services)

  • The aim of this study is to identify the data traffic capacity of 3G mobile communication networks, especially of cdma2000-1X networks. Three-layered ON/OFF traffic model is used to describe the dynamics of data traffics and the process of data transmission such as packet scheduling. We construct a simulator fully incorporating packet handling process of cdma2000-lX data network as well as three-layered ON/OFF traffic model describing the behavior of source data traffics. To get influence of traffic parameters on performance measures, the extensive simulations were performed for several data sets which are obtained from real trace data or previous studies. The experimental results show that the engineered throughput satisfying QoS criteria is approximately 25% of total capacity. Finally, some proposals to improve the system capacity are followed.

항계내 항로의 해상교통 혼잡도 평가에 관하여 - 울산 신항만의 혼잡도 평가를 기준으로 - (Evaluation of Traffic Congestion in Channels within Harbour Limit -On Channels in Ulsan New Port Development-)

  • Whether over taking or parallel sailing of two or more vessels is allowable on marine traffic route or not, the traffic congestion due to traffic volume has to be evaluated separately. In Gaduk-sudo, overtaking or parallel sailing is so allowable that the Bumper Model is introduced to evaluated the traffic congestion. But the channels within the habour limit such as the route of Ulsan New Port are so prohibited overtaking or parallel sailing that the traffic congestion has to be evaluated by using theoretical traffic capacity or by traffic simulation. In this paper, the congestion of Southern New Port and Mipo Port was evaluated the congestion by using theoretical traffic capacity and the other area of Ulsan Port by traffic simulation. The incresed traffic volumes on Ulsan Channels according to Ulsan New Port Development in 2011 were evaluated to have no effect with the traffic congestion.

개인통신서비스 망 설계와 핸드오버 처리용량 분석 (A Design for PCS Network and Analysis of Handover Processing Capacity)

  • We present the required handover capacity of personal communication service exchange(PCX). We use the flow-based mobility model. The dimension of PCX area and the number of radio port controller(RPC) in a PCX are determined according to the traffic carrying capacity of switching system and RPC. For the rectangular or square-shaped PCX/RPC area and the personal communication service environment with pedestrian traffic, we perform numerical computations to investigate the sensitivity to cell size, portable station(PS) terminating traffic, its density, and its average speed. The results how that the size of PCX/RPC area decreases as the PS terminating traffic and the PS density increase, and the PCX handover capacity required is more than 73,000 in the number of transactions per hour.

  • Due to the rapid increase In the Internet traffic volume, ISPs are faced with the definite need of the expansion of server capacity. In order to Provide prompt services for customers and still prevent excessive facility cost, it is critical to determine the optimum level of internet server capacity. The purpose of this Paper is to provide a simple but effective strategy on the expansion of servers capacity according to the increase in internet traffic. We model an internet server as an M/G/m/m queueing system and derive an efficient method to compute the loss probability which, In turn, Is used as a basis to determine proper server capacity. The Process of estimating the traffic parameter values at each server based on log data analysis is also given. All the procedures are numerically demonstrated through the process of analyzing actual log data collected from a game company.

자율주행자동차 도입으로 인한 교통흐름 변화 분석 (Impacts of Automated Vehicles on Traffic Flow Changes)

  • 교통혼잡은 운전자의 인지반응시간, 운전미숙, 무리한 차로변경 등 인적요인으로부터 발생된다. 자율주행자동차가 도입되면 이러한 인적요인들이 배제되고 군집주행으로 인해 평균주행속도 상승, 교통흐름 안정화, 도로용량 증대 효과가 예상된다. 본 연구는 자율주행자동차도입으로 인한 교통흐름 변화를 교통량-밀도-속도 산포도 그래프를 통해 분석하고, 도로용량 증대 효과를 도출하였다. 분석 결과, 자율주행자동차의 혼입율이 높아질수록 교통량-밀도-속도의 그래프 곡선이 완화되며, 폭이 줄어들어 교통류가 안정적으로 변화하였다. 또한 자율주행자동차 혼입율 100%에서는 도로용량이 약 120% 증대되는 것으로 분석되었다. 자율주행자동차 도입으로 인한 교통혼잡개선 및 교통수요관리 측면에서 긍정적인 기대효과가 있을 것으로 분석되었다.

  • 멀티미디어 인터넷 망에서 호 라우팅은 번호나 이름을 라우팅 주소로 번역하며 라우팅 주소는 연결 설정을 위해 사용된다. 트래픽 엔지니어링 기능은 트래픽 관리(Traffic Management), 용량 관리(Capacity Management), 그리고 네트워크 계획(Network Planning) 등을 포함한다. 본 논문에서는 트래픽 엔지니어링의 기능 중 트래픽 관리 기능에서 호 라우팅(Call Routing)과 연결/베어러-패스라우팅을 위한 기본 기능을 제시한다.

  • Demand for air transportation in Korea keeps increasing, and the number of airport operations also grows as a result. The major two airports in Korea, Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport, share the metropolitan airspace, which is crowd with air traffic. As air traffic increases in the metropolitan airspace, the demand for the airport operations would outnumber the capacities of these airports. However, there is a room to efficiently manage the shortage of the airport capacity due to the different distributions of operations in these airports. This study presents a dynamic slot allocation that allows exchanging slots according to the traffic demand. The dynamic allocation mitigates the airports' capacity problem but the airspace capacity itself should be increased in order to tackle the problem fundamentally.

Power Control Based Call Admission Control Method of the CDMA PCS System

  • This paper proposes a new call admission control method to enhance the reverse link capacity of a cell with heavy traffic in the CDMA PCS system under the uneven traffic load between cells. Since the capacity of a cell in the CDMA system is restricted by the total interference caused by terminals in the own cell and the adjacent cells, we can enhance the capacity of a cell by reducing the interference from other cells if possible. Our power control method allows that the signal powers received in base stations with heavy traffic be larger than those received in base stations with light traffic in order to make the interference due to other cells in the cells with heavy traffic relatively small. In the previous study, it was assumed that the signal power received by each base station in the CDMA PCS system is same when the call admission control algorithm is implemented. We could show that the reverse link capacity of a cell in the CDMA PCS system can be increased about 20% under our call admission control method.

  • 무선인터넷은 이동 단말기를 통해 무선으로 인터넷에 접속하여 데이터 통신이나 인터넷 서비스를 제공받을 수 있는 네트워크이다. 무선 접속망과 유선 인터넷의 다른 두 네트워크를 효율적으로 연동하기 위해서는 프로토콜 전환 시스템인 WAP게이트웨이가 필요하다. 무선인터넷 서비스를 안정적이고 비용 효율적으로 제공하기 위해서는 적절한 게이트웨이 시스템 용량산출이 필요하고 시설투자의 경제성을 획득하기 위해서는 트래픽 모델링 및 예측을 포함한 트래픽 엔지니어링 기법이 필요하다. 기존의 용량산출 기법은 직관적이고 정성적인 방식을 탈피하지 못했으나 본 논문에서는 보다 정량적이며 해석적으로 WAP 서비스에서 트래픽 기술 파라미터 정의하고 트래픽 예측 기법에 근거한 용량산출 기법을 다룬다.

  • In this paper, we derive forward link Erlang capacity reflecting both outage probability and blocking probability of each traffic type in mixed traffics environment. We firstly determine the number of available virtual trunks of the forward link from a circuit switching perspective. Then, capacity sharing model and generalized Erlang model are employed to derive joint Erlang capacity of various traffics types.
