  • The objective of this research is to find out status and consciousness about shrouds according to changes of Jeju's rural funeral ritual while reviewing Jeju's traditional shrouds. Consciousness of customs regarding tradition is much stronger in Jeju Island. Since it was said that shrouds and changes of funeral ritual have very systematic correlation according to the result of precedent researches, changes of funeral rituals of Jeju's rural area were examined. At the same time, consciousness about traditional shrouds of Jeju people was also studied. As the result of examination through literary investigation, visits to rural homes, visits to production places of Jeju's shrouds and interviews with grandmothers designated as human cultural assets of traditional Jeju shrouds, etc, it was found out that Jeju's rural funeral rituals had been rapidly changed since 2000. Traditional Jeju shrouds are also disappearing. In particular, old women of Jeju have considered preparation of their own and their husbands' shrouds in advance as a virtue. However, as it gradually became more difficult to produce and prepare traditional shrouds at homes and as the space of funeral was changed from their own houses to hospitals and/or commercial funeral homes, it was found out that a ratio of people's using general shrouds sold in market was increased and it is believed that this kind of trend will be accelerated more and more in the future.

  • Traditional markets, formed naturally, often feature aged buildings and facilities that are susceptible to fire. However, the lack of adequate fire detection systems in these markets can easily lead to large-scale fires upon ignition. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of detecting fires in traditional markets, utilizing thermal imaging cameras for data collection and the YOLOv8 model for object detection experiments. Data were collected in the night markets within traditional markets of xx city and by simulating fire scenarios. A comparative analysis of the Nano and XL models of YOLOv8 revealed that the XL model is more effective in detecting fires. The XL model not only demonstrated higher accuracy in correctly identifying flames but also tended to miss fewer fires compared to the Nano model. In the case of objects other than flames, the XL model showed superior performance over the Nano model. Taking all these factors into account, it is anticipated that with further data collection and improvement in model performance, a suitable fire detection system for traditional markets can be developed.

  • The purpose of this study was to inves-tigate the economic performance of the textile industry for the Korean traditional clothes. The content of this paper had two pars; The first part was for the macroeconomic aspects such as location production employments and the produc-tion facilities of the textile industries. The second part was for the microeconomic aspects such as business type branding method fabric type R&D efforts sourc-ing and the distributional channel The major results were as follows: 1.) Most textile firms for the korean traditional clothes were located in Gongju for man-made fibers and in Jinju for silk fabrics. 2) The size of the textile industry in terms of the number of business produc-tion amount the number of employee de-creased during 1994 and 1995 due to the decreasing demand. 3) Over the half of the textile firms produced raw fabric products while only 20% of them were involved in additional dyeing and /or printing finish which re-sulted in low value added production 4) The R&D effort of the textile indus-try for the Korean traditional clothes was very low due to the market uncertainty lack of technological knowledge and most of all small size of the firms 5) Most raw materials for the textile in -dustry were imported with high(25%) tariff rates resulting in price increase and thus low competitiveness in the market. 6) The textile producers sole about the 70% of their products to the wholesalers while selling the rest to the retailers di-rectly. This showed the dual structure of the distribution channel in the textile products. These results suggested some implica-tions for the firms the policy makers and the researchers. The firms should develop new and improved products to increase and create consumer demand by intensive R&D efforts. The government policy ma-kers should give financial supports the firms with R&D investment and legal help such as lowing tariff rate for the raw ma-terials. The researchers from the academy could help the textile industry with the advanced technological knowledge and up-date information for the consumer fashion demand.

  • This study is a sustainability study of K-Music beyond K-Pop through New Media. New media literally means 'new media'. When TV, classified as legacy media, first appeared in the world, it was an innovative new media platform. Of course, it is considered the most traditional legacy media. However, the definition of new media inevitably changes with the times. Most of the media called new media today are based on online and mobile. This thesis focuses on popular music including crossover traditional music genre. And we define popular music exported abroad as K-pop, and propose the possibility of globalization of Korean music using K-pop users and new media, a metaverse based K-pop audition platform, as consumers and suppliers in the global market. Hallyu, the studying of K-Pop through the study of attitudes and economic effects of K-pop, such as reactions to the spread of K-pop and the reactions of fans who like K-pop, are constantly being discussed in various ways. But there has been no case of cultural technology research that linked the sustainability of Gugak as the Korean music through new media to the K-pop business platform. As the overflowing data pours out in the virtual space as an act that gives the meaning of existence, the online is able to become an open market that provides reliable information all over the world. Therefore we would like to propose on the sustainability of Korean music through the 'Korean Traditional Music Broadcasting Metaverse Audition' beyond the K-pop business model as the K-Music content in the cultural technology era.

  • As the new competitive environment become more global, technologically oriented and customer driven, as customers continually demand higher quality, faster response, and greater reliability of products and services, the new global market demands a more customer responsive behaviour by companies and firms have responded with innovative products and improved manufacturing processes to manufacture products. Further, the shift from traditional manufacturing and purchasing to JIT manufacturing and purchasing requires customers and suppliers to shift from adversarial relationships to strategic partnerships, and information sharing, so as to attain flexibility, reliability, and speed. SCM practices such as supplier collaboration and information sharing is considered as a key to attaining supplier network responsiveness and enhancing the product innovation and the market access time. The current research investigates the effect of SCM practices on supplier network responsiveness, the product innovation and the market access time of export companies. Thus by providing empirical evidence of the said relationships, this study offers useful guidelines for measuring and improving the supplier network responsiveness of a firm, facilitating further research in the area.

  • This paper presents an new algorithm for the economic load dispatch considering the reliability level constraints of composite power system under deregulated electricity market. It is the traditional ELD problem that generation powers have been dispatched In order to minimize total fuel cost subjected to constraints which sum of powers generated must equal the received load and no violating lower and upper limit constraints on generation. Under deregulated electricity market, however, generation powers of a pool have to be reallocated newly in order to satisfy the reliability differentiated level required at a load point because of a reliability differentiated electricity service which is a part of the priority service. In this study, new economic load dispatch algorithm for reallocating the generation powers of a pool in order to satisfy the reliability differentiated level under deregulated competitive electricity market is proposed. The uncertainties of not only generators but also transmission lines are considered fer the reliability evaluation. The characteristics and effectiveness of this methodology are illustrated by the case studies on MRBTS and IEEE-RTS.

  • An index fund is a collective investment scheme that aims to replicate the movements of an index of a specific financial market regardless of market conditions. An index fund is a popular investment alternative because it is much cheaper to run than an active fund and it performs better than actively managed funds. This paper illustrates the usefulness of wavelet analysis in constructing an index fund. The wavelet analysis can decompose the time series data in frequency domain as well as in time domain. The major findings of this paper are as follows. First, the beta coefficient that represents the systematic risk has the scale dependent property. This result can provide important information to the investors with various investment time frequency. Investors can use the betas corresponding to their investment frequencies among the various scale betas estimated by wavelet analysis. Second, we can find the usefulness of wavelet analysis in constructing index fund because the wavelet technique gives less tracking error(difference between the index performance and the index fund performance) than the traditional constructing techniques. The result of this study implies that the wavelet techniques can be an important analytic method to the other financial markets such as option market, futures market, bond markets and currency market.

  • There hardly have been support policies for small wholesale vendors or any materials such as proper statistical standards and figures compared to diversity of support policies and size of budget for small and medium manufacturing business. The biggest concern coming from it is that there have never been any policies for small and medium wholesale vendors. This study proposes some ways to improve support policies through investigating the current status of those vendors as their true values haven't been properly recognized, while diverse support systems have been devised for manufacturing business thanks to the traditional industrial development process. According to the study on support policies for domestic and international small and medium wholesale vendors, I realized that those vendors need a policy to ensure them to be promptly adjusted to the rapidly changing distribution environment and to be competitive to access to the global distribution market to finally become hidden champions through systematical operations of small and medium wholesale vendors and implementing educational business through sales management. Therefore, I propose five ways to improve support policies for small and medium wholesale vendors by considering social and economic value, systematizing small wholesalers and scaling small and medium wholesale vendors, reinforcing support for wholesalers, support policies for new online market opening and offline market opening.
