Nowadays, landscape architecture development faces several challenges such as how to inherit Chinese cultures and spirits, how to sustain historical and traditional features and how to keep landscape vital in modem development of city and society. Through interpretation of Chinese culture nature which is set as the research principle, this paper concludes to 'natural, suitable and special' leading idea of inheriting, constructing and preserving Chinese landscape. This idea also integrates traditional, modern, western and Chinese cultures and features. With projects and examples, it also explains those bad effects to landscape inheriting: un-enough mending, natural aging, unsuitable policies, and over development etc. This paper also addresses Beijing Tiantan Park and Shanghai Jiangnan Ship Firm landscape design to show successful protection of traditional gardens. Various protections of the architectures and surroundings and innovation of traditional landscape architecture are also stated.
This study examines the nature-introducing methods between Korea Traditional Architecture and Landscape Architecture dividing them into three; semantic methods, constructive methods and visual methods on the basis of architectural features deduced from Borrowed Landscape theory which is a typical nature-introducing theory in the orient. Through the findings of this study, we can explain the nature-introducing methods of Landscape Architecture by way of the method of the Borrowed Landscape which was frequently used by our ancestors for a long time to Introduce nature in the course of building structures, and we can find several similarities between the Architecture of two fields of both different times and areas. It can be said to be meaningful for us to be able to confirm the contemporary value of Traditional nature-introducing method through the Borrowed Landscape theory. However, we can find that there is a difference between Traditional Architecture and Landscape Architecture in looking at nature. If the Landscape Architecture which emerged recently as a result of recognizing the importance of nature, maintains the nature view of regarding nature and architecture as equal, the nature view of Traditional Architecture is essentially different in that it is humble and aims to return to nature. The most outstanding feature of nature-introducing way in Traditional Architecture obviously implies something different from the various architectural trends of 'nature-human', or 'nature-architecture' which appeared breaking the relation of dichotomy. It is the thinking that 'nature and human are continual', and 'human is part of nature'; that is, 'the humbleness to nature'.
This paper is studied on the korean traditional landscape in the view of the meaning of the contemporary landscape. The landscape architecture is expanding in the various research field of landscape. The seven concept of landscape can be divided as a regional concept, a land- form concept, an ecological concept, a land use concept, a heritage concept, a scenery concept, and a park and garden concept. This paper is deal with 985 kyoung(景) in 104 places and 16 Gok(曲) in 16 places as the korean traditional landscape. The object of landscape is generally focus on a reality as well as an unreality. In kyoung and Gok, the landscape is organized as an order of a small universe. The expression of the structure of korean traditional landscape is the fifth dimensional space which is organized by the third dimensional space with a time, an image and a feeling.

The main aim of this research is centered on the relation between nature and humans, and is to study the ecological characteristics appearing both in Landscape Architecture, one of the currents of ecological architecture as the architectural solution on the relation between humans and nature, and in our traditional architecture. Through this study, we were able to see that our traditional architecture was influenced by our ancestor's view of nature, and that the foremost feature of our ancestor's view of nature on our traditional architecture is not conflicting with nature, but, instead it is complying with it through seeking harmony with nature. Also we could see that our ancestor's view of nature is similar to Landscape Architecture having come to the fore toward the tendency of modern ecological paradigm in that it is the representation seeking the organic view of nature pursuing the oneness among artificial structure, humans, and nature. That is, we could figure out that various ecological features appearing in modem Landscape Architecture had been represented for a long long time, in a natural fashion, In the manner of space makeup in our traditional architecture. This is the characteristic of our ecological thinking system understanding nature and humans at the same context, and it has come down not only to our everyday living but to the manner of architectural solutions as well. Through this research, we could reconsider the modern value of ecological architecture inherent in our traditional architecture.
