The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of exterior look and interior space of Boutique hotels in Prague and to identify how the tradition and the modern styles were integrated in each element. The subjects of this study were 12 tradition and modern style integrated hotels in Prague. From the collected data, the followings were investigated; what are traditional and modern elements, how they are integrated, and what the ratio of the tradition and the modern style is. The results are as follows. First, regarding the level of integration of tradition and modernity in Boutique hotels in Prague, exterior look showed conservativeness and interior space showed innovation. Second, in the conservative combination of exterior look, the traditional facade made conflicts with the modernity of the signage but the expression was limited to the modern expression of façade and signage maintaining the traditional form. Facades were modernized with the limitation such as not to interfere its traditional atmosphere and signs were designed to be compatible with facade. Third, in the innovative integration between the traditional and the modern of interior lobby, they partially maintained traditional elements or reinterpreted the traditional elements in modern terms in ceiling, walls, columns and windows and used modern expressions in most of ornamental elements.

The aim of this study was to analyze the design characteristics of Chinese fashion designer Feng Chen Wang and interpret their implicit meaning from a neo-deconstruction perspective. A review of domestic and foreign literature, outlined the develop- ment of deconstruction and neo-deconstruction, with neo-deconstruction's aesthetic features termed 'traditional fusion', 'positive playfulness', 'open communication', and 'multiple inclusiveness'. These features informed an analysis of Feng Chen Wang's fashion design. Four key findings emerged. First, 'traditional fusion' combines traditional Chinese colors, items, handicrafts, and patterns with modern design to break down boundaries between past and modern, tradition and fashion. Second, 'positive playfulness' promotes creativity and fun, using bright colors, exaggerated accessories, and playing withthe composition of traditional clothes to create a positive atmosphere. Third, 'open communication' emphasizes design that combines practicality and creati- vity in response to consumer needs, incorporating the thoughts arising from individual experiences and interest in social phenomena. Fourth, 'multiple inclusiveness' breaks down boundaries of sexuality, hierarchy, and body shape, embracing various ideas of beauty and respecting uniqueness through design that are seen as available to all. Using a neo-deconstruction perspective, Feng Chen Wang provides novel product planning ideas for Chinese fashion brands and reflects the values and meaning of modern design pursued by contemporary Chinese designers.

The purpose of this study is to propose a modern use of traditional culture by developing creative fashion designs that combine modern and traditional styles based on an analysis of traditional costumes of women in the Tang Dynasty of China. The characteristics of the Tang Dynasty women's costume are as follows. The Tang Dynasty women's costume consists of a short coat (衫, Shan), skirt (裙, Qun), half-arm shawl (半臂, Banbi), and short embroidered cape (帔, Pei). The colors are succinct and elegant, commonly red, yellow, green and navy blue in its entirety. It may be classified by pattern that blend plant patterns, animal patterns, geometric patterns, and two or more mixed patterns. On the basis of the characteristics for traditional women's costume during the Tang Dynasty, the CLO 3D program is employed to develop digital fashion design for four pairs of 3D digital clothing and the production of two pairs of work product. The results are as follows. First, the development of fashion design reflecting the design characteristics of traditional women's clothing in the Tang Dynasty of China could be expressed as fashion design reflecting unique values while connecting tradition and modernity. Second, the 3D virtual clothing program displays an extremely important effect in design deployment and pattern arrangement by having efficiency and convenience in clothing production. The CLO 3D program is closely combined with the 2D design and 3D effect and heightened efficiency while being appropriate to realize sustainability while saving processing time and energy for the sample products. Third, the production of an actual product by facilitating the 3D virtual clothing design may lead to time savings and an effective economy and may allow for the comparison of digital fashion design and actual products as well as confirming the effects of digital fashion design.

한국의 전통 단청의 천연석채 및 기법을 바탕으로 화려함과 장엄(莊嚴)함에서 오는 이미지를 연구자의 주관적인 해석에 의해 장신구 제작에 있어서 보석으로 활용 표현하고자 한다. 본 논문의 연구 목적은 한국 전통 단청에 사용되는 천연석채 안료와 단청이미지를 활용하여 다양한 색상표현의 가능성, 견고함과 광택이 있는 합성수지를 조합하여 보석 디자인으로 사용 가능성이 있음을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 본 연구를 통해 단청이미지를 보석디자인에 이입하여 라이프 스타일을 추구하는 현대인의 생활 속에서 접근 할 수 있는 가능성을 제시함과 동시에 과거의 전통적인 재료와 현대의 재료와 디지털 제작방법으로 접근하여 장신구에 활용 될 보석디자인의 폭 넓은 변화를 모색하고자 한다.

This study aims to find new solutions to the problem of utilization of materials and techniques represented in the development of modern lighting design. LED is an important component in modern lighting design and pine tree is one of the most popular domestic wood in furniture design in Korea. In this study, design is developed into various types of furniture such as a table, a chest, and a lighting, by researching manufacturing process and examining the use of slicing pine tree. The technique of slicing pine tree is a simple linear arrangement that was traditionally used in wooden furniture in Lee dynasty, with an emphasis on repetitive rhythm. The slicing technology is used to expand the usage of domestic pine tree. The beauty of natural wood is expressed with the transmission of light by applying this technique to the lighting design. It also brings new communication in between artificial lighting and natural wood combining this traditional technique and LED lighting in design. Finally, this study suggests particular value through the convergence of analog and digital by using the traditional wooden technique that keeps natural wood prints and new digital technology by using LED lighting. More discussions and research about this subject are expected continuously through this study.

This paper examines how the design of female characters in Disney animations is evolving over time, and explores whether these changes are related to the social status of women in modern society. We analyze in detail how Disney's female character design has undergone changes in form, characteristics, and personality with the transition from 2D animation to 3D animation, and show that the change in perception of women in modern society is behind this change. It shows. It deals with changes in the design and personality of female characters, focusing on major Disney animation works before and after 2010. Starting with the movie <Rapunzel>, released in 2010, female characters showed stronger and more active characteristics and changed from traditional Disney princesses. Disney is bringing about this social change by breaking away from the image of an independent woman and showing the growth process of overcoming hardships based on one's abilities and the support of one's family, as well as the increasing number of female characters of various races and appearances. The conclusion was reached that it shows a conscious and active willingness to accept it.

Modern society has been transformed into a digital emotional society that could gradually be seen, felt, and enjoyed by the diversification of personal consumption desires due to digital development. Accordingly, in fashion, an original fashion sense that arose out of classical and conventional thinking has become important and there is an increasing interest in patchwork quilts. The purpose of this study lies in contributing to the development and utilization of creative and emotional fashion design by expanding the mental changes that have emerged in modern society to creative areas after analyzing the classification and expression characteristics of the type cases of patchwork quilt techniques expressed in modern fashion. In addition, it is meaningful to examine how the expressive characteristics of patchwork quilts are expressed in the digital emotion era. This study paralleled literature research and empirical case studies. In the scope and method of research, the theatrical research was centered on literature data. For visual data, website photos were collected, limited to women's clothing among the collections from Fall & Winter 2014 to Spring & Summer 2017. After drawing the expression types of patchwork quilts extracted from the previous research based on the design formative factors, the fashion-related expert group analyzed the expressive characteristics of 501 photographs in which the patchwork quilt of the designer clothing collection were reflected. As a result of analysis, the expressive types appeared in the order of diversification of techniques and materials, extended dual images, new formative composition, and reconstruction of traditional patchwork. In this study, the expressive characteristics of patchwork quilts expressed in contemporary fashion are analyzed and drawn as variability, compromise, convergence, and playfulness. Through this, it is hoped that this study can be used variously in the development of fashion design by expanding the interpretation of costume culture.

There is growing tendency to find rest in one's own space for senses of isolation and loneliness were felt as excluded from the contemporary society. It is necessary for a private space to be reproduced as a place of consolation and cure beyond rest. This study is dealing with project research works, which are exhibited in 2014 Home Table Deco Fair with the theme of for individual rest and consolation. This study, based on the investigation of Korean lifestyle and trend, considered design, in the living space of modern people with Korean-style design, and in the perspective of color, quality of material, and aesthetic sense, and suggests that design convergence of the east and the west. This study can contribute to recreate meaning and principles of design based on Korean aesthetics and culture according to the needs of the present age.

한국 정자의 표준모델은 한국전통의 미를 구현하고 시대적 흐름을 반영할 수 있으며, 보편적이고 현실적인 모델을 개발 함과 동시에 국제적으로 한국 전통미를 알릴 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한국 전통정자의 사례조사를 통해 우리 고유의 전통기술을 계승하고 한국정자의 정통성을 보존하면서 생활화, 산업화, 활성화, 세계화 할 수 있는 표준모델을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 사례분석과 현대의 트랜드를 고려하여 각 부분별로 계획을 진행하여 전통정자의 대표적인 유형인 사모정, 육각정, 팔각정에 대해서 표준모델을 제시할 수 있었다. 표준모델은 정통성을 고려하면서도 활용도를 높이기 위해 난간마루를 설치하고 계자난간을 설치하는 등의 디자인 트랜드에 약간의 변화를 주었다. 이렇게 제시된 표준모델은 현재의 디자인 트랜드가 반영된 것으로 추후에는 그 때의 트랜드에 따라 다른 형태로 변경될 수 있다. 이번에 개발된 한국 정자의 표준모델은 한국전통의 미를 재현하면서도 보편적이고 현실적인 모델이라고 할 수 있다.

20세기 후반 디지털 시대로 전환되면서, 산업시대의 모더니즘이 가져온 부작용을 극복하기 위한 대안으로 인간 감성의 존중이라는 공예의 본질적 가치에 주목하고 있다. 이에 디지털 기술의 성숙기인 현 상황에서 기술과 공예를 결합시킨 창작의 실험적 시도를 소개하고자 한다. 이를 통해 신기술과 감성을 창작의 요소로 활용하려는 작가들에게 창의적 사고와 영감에 도움을 주고 더 나아가 새로운 창작의 가능성을 제시하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 연구방법은 문헌조사를 통한 사례분석으로 하였다. 첫째, 문헌조사와 선행연구를 바탕으로 현 시대에 공예의 의미와 가치 그리고 디지털 매체와 하이브리드 창작환경에 대해 고찰하였다. 둘째, 디자인의 실제적 이해를 위해 도구로서 디지털 테크놀로지를 활용하고 여기에 공예의 기법이나 제작과정 또는 전통적 재료를 융합시킨 디자인 사례를 찾아 유형화 하였다. 셋째, 사례분석을 통해 나타난 디자인의 특성을 파악하고 앞으로 새로운 창작의 가능성을 제시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그 동안 기능적 역할을 수행하기 위해서 표방하던 전형적 형식을 거부하며, 그로인해 형태, 구조, 재료는 물론 제작과정 등에서 자유로운 변화를 시도한다. 둘째, 디지털 기술의 생소함과 호기심, 공예의 친근함과 익숙함의 결합은 인간의 감성을 활성화시키기에 충분하기 때문에 구체적으로 디자인에 적용할 수 있는 요소를 추출하고 융합할 수 있는 방법에 대해 사고한다. 셋째. 공예와 디지털 매체간의 다양한 상호작용을 적극적으로 활용한다. 공예가 디지털의 형식을 받아들이고, 공예가 디지털의 내용으로 재등장한다. 프로세스에 있어서도 전통적 방식, 디지털 방식을 구분 없이 적절히 융합하여 상황에 맞게 활용한다.
