The performance of a tracking system is greatly increased if multiple types of sensors are combined to achieve the objective of the tracking instead of relying on single type of sensor. To conduct the multi-modal tracking, we have previously developed a multi-modal sensor-based tracking model where acoustic sensors mainly track the objects and visual sensors compensate the tracking errors [1]. In this paper, we find a network synchronization problem appearing in the developed tracking system. The problem is caused by the different location and traffic characteristics of multi-modal sensors and non-synchronized arrival of the captured sensor data at a processing server. To effectively deliver the sensor data, we propose a time-based packet aggregation algorithm where the acoustic sensor data are aggregated based on the sampling time and sent to the server. The delivered acoustic sensor data is then compensated by visual images to correct the tracking errors and such a compensation process improves the tracking accuracy in ideal case. However, in real situations, the tracking improvement from visual compensation can be severely degraded due to the aforementioned network synchronization problem, the impact of which is analyzed by simulations in this paper. To resolve the network synchronization problem, we differentiate the service level of sensor traffic based on Weight Round Robin (WRR) scheduling at the routers. The weighting factor allocated to each queue is calculated by a proposed Delay-based Weight Allocation (DWA) algorithm. From the simulations, we show the traffic differentiation model can mitigate the non-synchronization of sensor data. Finally, we analyze expected traffic behaviors of the tracking system in terms of acoustic sampling interval and visual image size.

This paper presents new drain bias scheme for the linearity enhancement of envelope tacking power amplifiers for W-CDMA base-stations. In the conventional envelope tracking power amplifiers, the drain bias voltage is lowered close to the knee voltage of transistor, resulting in the severe linearity degradation. To solve this problem, it is proposed in this paper that the amplifier is biased in the conventional class AB mode with a fixed drain bias voltage if the input envelope is low and in the envelope tracking mode otherwise. Moreover, the drain bias in the envelope tracking mode is newly determined to minimized the distortion. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed bias scheme, simulation is performed on the W-CDMA based-station envelope tracking power amplifier using class AB Si-LDMOS power amplifier. It is shown from the simulation that the proposed bias scheme allows a drastic linearity enhancement with the comparable efficiency enough to meet the requirement of W-CDMA base-station without additional linearization techniques.

This paper presents a novel signal tracking algorithm for GNSS receivers using a MLE technique. In order to perform a robust signal tracking in severe signal environments, e.g., high dynamics for navigation vehicles or weak signals for indoor positioning, the MLE based signal tracking approach is adopted in the paper. With assuming white Gaussian additive noise, the cost function of MLE is expanded to the cost function of NLSE. Efficient and practical approach for Doppler frequency tracking by the MLE is derived based on the assumption of code-free signals, i.e., the cost function of the MLE for carrier Doppler tracking is used to derive a discriminator function to create error signals from incoming and reference signals. The use of the MLE method for carrier tracking makes it possible to generalize the MLE equation for arbitrary codes and modulation schemes. This is ideally suited for various GNSS signals with same structure of tracking module. This paper proposes two different types of MLE based tracking method, i.e., an iterative batch processing method and a non-iterative feed-forward processing method. The first method is derived without any limitation on time consumption, while the second method is proposed for a time limited case by using a 1st derivative of cost function, which is proportional to error signal from discriminators of conventional tracking methods. The second method can be implemented by a block diagram approach for tracking carrier phase, Doppler frequency and code phase with assuming no correlation of signal parameters. Finally, a state space form of FLL/PLL/DLL is adopted to the designed MLE based tracking algorithm for reducing noise on the estimated signal parameters.
In this paper, we propose an object tracking algorithm based on color histogram and convolutional neural network model. In order to increase the tracking accuracy, we synthesize generic object tracking using regression network algorithm which is one of the convolutional neural network model-based tracking algorithms and a mean-shift tracking algorithm which is a color histogram-based algorithm. Both algorithms are classified through support vector machine and designed to select an algorithm with higher tracking accuracy. The mean-shift tracking algorithm tends to move the bounding box to a large range when the object tracking fails, thus we improve the accuracy by limiting the movement distance of the bounding box. Also, we improve the performance by initializing the tracking start positions of the two algorithms based on the average brightness and the histogram similarity. As a result, the overall accuracy of the proposed algorithm is 1.6% better than the existing generic object tracking using regression network algorithm.

This study analyzes the tracking accuracy(tracking errors) of fighter radar. Measurement error, detection failure, and radar cross section(RCS) fluctuation in radar measurements degrade the measurement quality and hence affect the tracking accuracy. Therefore, these radar measurement characteristics need to be considered when analyzing the tracking accuracy. In this paper, a method for analyzing the tracking accuracy is proposed; this method considers the detection error, detection probability, and RCS fluctuation. Results from experiments conducted with the proposed method show that the detection probability and RCS fluctuation affect tracking accuracy.
Recently, the volume of unstructured text data generated by various social media has been increasing rapidly; consequently, the use of text mining to support decision-making has also been growing. In particular, academia and industry are paying significant attention to topic analysis in order to discover the main issues from a large volume of text documents. Topic analysis can be regarded as static analysis because it analyzes a snapshot of the distribution of various issues. In contrast, some recent studies have attempted to perform dynamic issue tracking, which analyzes and traces issue trends during a predefined period. However, most traditional issue tracking methods have a common limitation : when a new period is included, topic analysis must be repeated for all the documents of the entire period, rather than being conducted only on the new documents of the added period. Additionally, traditional issue tracking methods do not concentrate on the transition of individuals' interests from certain issues to others, although the methods can illustrate macro-level issue trends. In this paper, we propose an individual interests tracking methodology to overcome the two limitations of traditional issue tracking methods. Our main goal is not to track macro-level issue trends but to analyze trends of individual interests flow. Further, our methodology has extensible characteristics because it analyzes only newly added documents when the period of analysis is extended. In this paper, we also analyze the results of applying our methodology to news articles and their access logs.

This paper describes the results of a study on the tracking performance of outdoor insulating materials based on the rotating wheel dip test(RWDT). And, the influence of surface degradation was evaluated through such as measurement of the flashover voltage after and before tracking test, also aspects of surface degradation using scanning electron microscopy. The time to tracking breakdown of treated filled specimen is longer than untreated filled specimen. And, after the RWDT, the surface of specimen by adding untreated filler appeared heavy erosion. It was found that the addition to surface treated filler, the better tracking resistance. In the RWDT, the breakdown specimen is not affected by the dry flashover voltage, despite the fact that the surface degradation of tracking test has different state on each specimen. This suggests that wet flashover voltage play an important role in evaluating of tracking and erosion on the surface degradation in tracking test. And, the flashover voltage of specimen under wet conditions are greatly affected by the salt concentration and degree of degradation by the RWDT Because of hydrophobicity and degree of degradation by the RWDT, the flashover voltage of treated filled specimen is higher than that of untreated filled specimen. Different types of specimen may have different hydrophobicity and their surface state under contaminated conditions may not be the same.

This paper aims to realize the location tracking system using the Zigbee in the wireless sensor network. The wireless sensor network offers the user-oriented location tracking service in the ubiquitous environment. The location tracking service can track the location of an object or a person and provides it. The location tracking system realized in this paper can be used inside or outside without any black-out areas to measure the location of the moving nodes. In tracking inside the RSSI signals use and in tracking outside will connect with the GPS signals to track the location. Also, by using Zigbee, the wireless sensor network environment was established and by obtaining the location of the moving nodes, the real-time tracking is possible.
In this study we propose to use a facial motion capture technique to track facial motions and expressions effectively by using the stereo vision module, which has two CMOS IMAGE SENSORS. In the proposed tracking algorithm, a center point tracking technique and correlation tracking technique, based on neural networks, were used. Experimental results show that the two tracking techniques using stereo vision motion capture are able to track general face expressions at a 95.6% and 99.6% success rate, for 15 frames and 30 frames, respectively. However, the tracking success rates(82.7%,99.1%) of the center point tracking technique was far higher than those(78.7%,92.7%) of the correlation tracking technique, when lips trembled.
Fire Control System(FCS) errors can be classified as hardware errors and software errors, and one of the software errors is from target tracking filter which estimates target's location, velocity, acceleration, and so on. It affects function of ballistic calculation equipment significantly. For gun to form predicted hitting point accurately and enhance hitting rate, we need status information of target's future location. Target tracking filter algorithms consist of Single Singer Model, Fixed Gain filter algorithm, IMM, PBIMM and so on. This paper will design IMM tracking filer, which is going to be! applied to domestic warship. Target tracking filter using CV model, Song model and CRT model for IMM tracking filter is made, and tracking ability is analyzed through Monte-Carlo simulation.
