The vibration resulting from railway operation is transmitted through the track and line structure, ground movements to adjacent buildings. As these vibration is growing, there is occurred exaggerated forces and displacements of the track and line structure and it is causing the differential settlement. It is difficult to clarify the dynamic response characteristics of trackbed because of various environmental conditions. However, track irregularity be affected by ununiformed bearing capacity and its dynamic response, study for dynamic response characteristics is required to investigate the cause of track irregularity and countermeasure. This study was intended to evaluate the numerical analysis which exam the response analysis characteristic of ground vibration by shape of cutting and embankment transition zone. The original method of analysis were have to examine variables such as directions, angles, drain conditions, linear conditions. However, In the analysis there were to consider the effect of moving loads according to directions of cutting and embankment transition zone.
In this study, track dynamic interaction characteristics caused by the vehicle running through transitional section such as bridge abutments were studied using the finite element analysis program. The geometric condition of track was generated by trigonometric function and allowable maximum track irregularity is determined by KORAIL track maintenance criteria. The sub-infrastructure under rail fastener system was modelled by 3D solid elements. To reduce computational cost only half track line is numerically considered and the roller boundary condition was applied to each side of model. In this study, the vehicle-track dynamic interaction analysis was carried out for standard Korean transition section of concrete track and the dynamic behaviors were investigated. The dynamic characteristics considered are wheel load variation, vertical acceleration at body, and maximum Mises stress at each part of transitional section.
Korean trains pass many mountain areas, so the volume of structures like bridge and tunnel has large part of railway lines. Train speed-up naturally needs a straight line in railway, then structures are increasing, and the length of structure has more than 70% in Kyongbu high-speed railway. The stiffness of bridge and tunnel is higher than the soil in the roadbed in spite of dynamic difference in vibration and displacement. Differences in stiffness have more dynamic effects and increase the deformation and destruction in the track and roadbed. This influences passenger's comfort and the safety of operation, and it needs more track maintenance. This study selected tunnel with ballast track, tunnel with concrete track, and structure's approaches with short maintenance cycle in the roadbed and had track acceleration tests and track liner inspections using track master in the field. This study will measure periodically to structure's approaches which have very fast track irregularity and analyze dynamic differences and track irregularity near structure's approaches, so realize the cause of track irregularity of structure's approaches and use basic data for reasonably strengthening method of structure's approaches.

One of commercial rapid transits produces peculiar booming sound when passing through the slab-track tunnel. In order to analyze that tympanic membrane-pressing noise systematically, typical source-transfer path-response analysis was carried out. Considering the octave band of booming noise, work scope was confined to structure-borne noise analysis, especially the dynamic behaviour of railway tracks. Experimental modal analysis of railway tracks, composed of rail, rubber pad, sleeper, ballast, and ground were performed. The results shows that transversal bending modes of the rail are suspicious for the cause of the low band booming noise. Finite element analysis are made use of to match preceding experimental results, and plausible dynamic properties of track components are produced.

Dynamic analysis of a vehicle-track coupling system is important to structural design, damage detection and condition assessment of the structural system. Deterministic analysis of the vehicle-track coupling system has been extensively studied in the past, however, the structural parameters of the coupling system have uncertainties in engineering practices. It is essential to treat the parameters of the vehicle-track coupling system with consideration of uncertainties. In this paper, a method for predicting the bounds of the vehicle-track coupling system responses with uncertain parameters is presented. The uncertain system parameters are modeled as fuzzy variables instead of conventional random variables with known probability distributions. Then, the dynamic response functions of the coupling system are transformed into a component function based on the high dimensional representation approximation. The Lagrange interpolation method is used to approximate the component function. Finally, the bounds of the system's dynamic responses can be predicted by using Monte Carlo method for the interpolation polynomials of the Lagrange interpolation function. A numerical example is introduced to illustrate the ability of the proposed method to predict the bounds of the system's dynamic responses, and the results are compared with the direct Monte Carlo method. The results show that the proposed method is effective and efficient to predict the bounds of the system's dynamic responses with fuzzy variables.
Vehicle dynamic behavior should be investigated to establish the track irregularity criteria because they have an impact on vehicle dynamic behavior. The influence of twist on running behavior and safety for KTX was instigated by numerical analysis among track geometry quality parameters such as vertical alignment, lateral alignment, twist and track gauge in this paper. The wavelength and amplitude of twist were considered in scenario of this numerical analysis. This research is based on just numerical analysis and the final result which include measurement will be published in the future.
Post-construction subgrade settlement especially differential settlement, has become a key issue in construction and operation of non-ballasted track on high-speed railway soil subgrade, which may also affect the dynamic performance of passing trains. To estimate the effect of differential subgrade settlement on the mechanical behaviors of the vehicle-slab track system, a detailed model considering nonlinear subgrade support and initial track state due to track self-weight is developed. Accordingly, analysis aiming at a typical high-speed vehicle coupled with a deteriorated slab track owing to differential subgrade settlement is carried out, in terms of two aspects: (i) determination of an initial mapping relationship between subgrade settlement and track deflections as well as contact state between track and subgrade based on a semi-analytical method; (ii) simulation of dynamic performance of the coupled system by employing a time integration approach. The investigation indicates that subgrade settlement results in additional track irregularity, and locally, the contact between the concrete track and the soil subgrade is prone to failure. Moreover, wheel-rail interaction is significantly exacerbated by the track degradation and abnormal responses occur as a result of the unsupported areas. Distributions of interlaminar contact forces in track system vary dramatically due to the combined effect of track deterioration and dynamic load. These may not only intensify the dynamic responses of the coupled system, but also have impacts on the long-term behavior of the track components.
The structural responses are often used to identify the structural local damages. However, it is usually difficult to gain the responses of the track, as the sensors cannot be installed on the track directly. The vehicles running on a track excite track vibration and can also serve as response receivers because the vehicle dynamic response contains the vibration information of the track. A damage identification method using the vehicle responses and sensitivity analysis is proposed for the vehicle-track coupling system in this paper. Different from most damage identification methods of vehicle-track coupling system, which require the structural responses, only the vehicle responses are required in the proposed method. The local damages are identified by a sensitivity-based model updating process. In the vehicle-track coupling system, the track is modeled as a discrete point supported Euler-Bernoulli beam, and two vehicle models are proposed to investigate the accuracy and efficiency of damage identification. The measured track irregularity is considered in the calculation of vehicle dynamic responses. The measurement noises are also considered to study their effects to the damage identification results. The identified results demonstrate that the proposed method is capable to identify the local damages of the track accurately in different noise levels with only the vehicle responses.
In this study, Interaction among each element was construed by the unit of new stiffness matrix to analyze the finite element about Japanese precast concrete slab track and improved slab track. Dynamic analysis which is assumed a static analysis and a trainload on the transverse and the longitudinal load of the train into a series periodic function was performed by using the common program. And then, the difference of the movement between an improved section and an existing structure type was realized. Longitudinal static analysis indicated that the stress of the improved section is smaller than that of the protrusion of the existing slab track. And static and dynamic analysis on transverse load showed a little decrease of the displacement on new slab track. But the dynamic analysis result showed that new track system was considerably decreased by 30% compared with the existing Japanese slab track.

Tank track rubbers, which undergo dynamic stresses and strains under various road conditions, leads to a result of considerable internal temperature rise due to the heat generation. Since rubber materials are not fully elastic, a part of the mechanical energy is converted into heat because of the hysteresis loss. Heat generation without adequate heat dissipation leads to heat build-up, i.e. internal temperature rise which, if excessive, exerts a bad influence upon the performance and the life of the tank track rubbers. The purpose of this paper is to predict temperature distributions of the rubber components off tank track subjected to complex dynamic loads under various read conditions. In steady state analysis temperature fields are displayed in contour shapes, and in unsteady analysis the temperature variations of some important nodes are represented graphically with respect to the running time of the tank.
