UIC 기준에 따른 궤간 가변 윤축의 내구성 평가 (Durability Evaluation of the Gage - Adjustable Wheelset System According to UIC Standard)

  • To reduce the cost and the time of transport in Eurasian railroad networks such as TKR, TCR and TSR owing to the problem of different track gauges (narrow/standard/broad gauge), it is important to develop the gauge - adjustable wheelset system to adapt easily to these gauges. The gauge - adjustable wheelset system in the transcontinental railway have been proposed as a more effective way in comparison with other techniques for overcoming difference in track gauges. Assume that the freight train with gauge adjustable wheelset system is running from domestic train network to TCR, TSR in Eurasian continent, it is necessary to estimate the safety of this system. This study is evaluated at examination of safety for freight train with gauge adjustable wheelset system by simulated durability analysis. Moreover, the predicted fatigue life at running track using the durability simulator was verified by the durability test according to UIC standard.

  • 최근 유럽과 아시아 사이의 물류 증가는 철도수송에 있어서 사회적/경제적으로 좋은 기회이며, 동시에 커다란 도전이 될 수 있다. 유라시아 대륙에는 다양한 궤간이 존재하고 있다. 이러한 궤간의 차이는 철도에 의한 화물수송시 장애요인중의 하나이다. 궤간 차이를 극복하기 위한 방법은 수송 화물의 유형에 따라 달라질 수 있으며, 국경 지점에 보관 창고 및 환적 설비와 같은 넓은 기반 시설과 많은 운영 인력수요와 같은 철도 수송 시스템의 운영에 많은 영향을 준다. 따라서 철도 수송 시스템의 효율성은 복잡한 하역 및 교환 기술에 관련된 궤간 극복 방법에 매우 의존한다. 본 논문은 궤간 극복 방법에 대한 기술적 평가를 기반으로 수송 시나리오의 효율성을 검토하고, 각 시나리오의 운영에서 요구되는 기술적 요소들을 기술하였다.

Therefore, to assure the safety of the gauge-adjustment wheelset system, it is necessary to evaluate integrity of locking parts in the system using stress analysis. In this study, it was performed to contact stress analysis of locking parts by using FEA(finite element analysis) simulator during the gauge changeover operation and freight trains' service in the curved track, respectively.

Cone penetrometer incorporated with dynamic cone penetration method for investigation of track substructures

  • The increased speed of a train causes increased loads that act on the track substructures. To ensure the safety of the track substructures, proper maintenance and repair are necessary based on an accurate characterization of strength and stiffness. The objective of this study is to develop and apply a cone penetrometer incorporated with the dynamic cone penetration method (CPD) for investigating track substructures. The CPD consists of an outer rod for dynamic penetration in the ballast layer and an inner rod with load cells for static penetration in the subgrade. Additionally, an energy-monitoring module composed of strain gauges and an accelerometer is connected to the head of the outer rod to measure the dynamic responses during the dynamic penetration. Moreover, eight strain gauges are installed in the load cells for static penetration to measure the cone tip resistance and the friction resistance during static penetration. To investigate the applicability of the developed CPD, laboratory and field tests are performed. The results of the CPD tests, i.e., profiles of the corrected dynamic cone penetration index (CDI), profiles of the cone tip and friction resistances, and the friction ratio are obtained at high resolution. Moreover, the maximum shear modulus of the subgrade is estimated using the relationships between the static penetration resistances and the maximum shear modulus obtained from the laboratory tests. This study suggests that the CPD test may be a useful method for the characterization of track substructures.

  • 이종궤간(표준줴/광궤)이 존재하는 유라시아 철도네트워크(TKR, TCR 및 TSR)의 화물운송시간 및 비용을 절감하기 위해서는 이 구간을 자유롭게 운행할 수 있는 궤간가변 윤축시스템의 개발이 중요하다. 국내에서는 기존 해외 윤축시스템을 보완하고자 새로운 한국형 궤간가변 윤축시스템을 개발 및 제작중이다. 본 연구에서는 안전-수명설계관점에서 강도와 내구성해석을 수행하였다. 본 시스템의 내구성해석결과로서, 주요부품은 $1{\times}10^7$ 사이클까지 안전하였다. 또한, 주행중 안전성을 확인하기위하여 국제철도규정 UIC에 따라 리그피로시험을 수행하였다. 이 시험을 통하여 본 궤간가변 윤축시스템은 관련 안전규정에 만족함을 확인하였다.

  • 이종궤간(협궤/표준궤/광궤)이 존재하는 유라시아 철도네트워크(TCR 및 TSR 등)의 운송시간 및 비용을 절감하기 위하여, 이 구간을 자유롭게 운행할 수 있는 궤간 가변 장치의 개발이 중요하다. 따라서 궤간가변차량의 안전성을 확보하기 위하여 각 시스템 및 부품들의 구조해석을 통한 건전성을 평가하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 개발중인 궤간가변 윤축시스템의 안정성 검토의 연구의 일환으로서, 궤간 변환구간 및 곡선부 주행시 차륜의 횡압하에 잠금부품들 사이의 접촉응력을 유한요소해석 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 평가하였다.

  • In this paper, the results of an analysis of the dynamic behavior of the eddy current brake(ECB) system are presented. The measured irregularity of the track in Korean high speed line and the track irregularity given by ERRI(high level) were used for simulation. The wheel-rail profile combination were analyzed with different rail gauges. A model of the bogie with an substitute body fur the carbody was implemented in the Multi-Body-Simulation Program Simpack.   • It is of utmost important that track loads at rail induced by running train was usually obtained for track performance evaluation. A reaction force of track was measured wheel loads and lateral force by strain gauges on the rail, and then it was obtained to derailment coefficient and variational ratio of wheel load from its relationship. In this study, a existing monitoring system methods with many manpower working were reviewed about measurements, process of testing, and how to obtain accurately measured data.

  • To reduce the cost and the time of transport in Eurasian railroad networks such as TKR(Trans-Korea Railway), TCR(Trans-China Railway) and TSR(Trans-Siberia Railway) owing to the problem of different track gauges (narrow/standard/broad gauge), it is important to develop the gauge - adjustable wheelset system to adapt easily to these gauges. Moreover, this system accomplishes periodically a conversion operation from the gauge variable segment between different gauge. Gauge adjustable compression coil spring during conversion process accomplishes repetitively a central role for operation mechanism between flange and locking part. Therefore, to assure the safety of the gauge-adjustment wheelset system, it is necessary to stress analysis of the optimized spring in the system. In this study, it was performed to optimal design of the spring for stress analysis by using the genetic algorithm.
