30° 경사 리브가 있는 확대 채널 통로 내의 열전달 증가 (Heat Transfer Enhancement in a Divergent Passage with 30° Inclined Ribs)

  • The effect of different rib geometries such as V-shaped continuous (case A), parallel broken (case B), and V-shaped broken (case C) ribs on local heat transfer distributions and pressure drops in a divergent channel with $30^{\circ}$ inclined ribs on one wall or two walls was investigated for Reynolds numbers from 22,000 to 75,000. Top and bottom walls were insulated; two side walls were uniformly heated in the divergent channel. Heated walls were composed of 10 isolated coper sections and length-to-outlet hydraulic diameter ratio of 10. Rib height-to-outlet hydraulic diameter ratio was 0.1, and rib pitch-to-height ratio equaled 10. Results revealed that V-shaped continuous rib (case A) produced approximately 1.4 times higher average Nussselt number than in the parallel broken rib (case B), and V-shaped broken rib (case C) in the channel with two ribbed walls at Re = 54,000.

  • A total of 17 experimental data for the onset of slugging, which is assumed to be the precursor of the condensation-induced waterhammer (CIWH), have been obtained for various How rates of water Incorporating the most recent correlations of interfacial heat transfer and friction factor developed for a circular geometry and using an improved criterion of transition from stratified to a slug flow, two existing analytical models to predict lower and upper bounds for CIWH have been upgraded. Applicability of the present as well as existing CIWH models has been tested by comparison with two sets of CIWH data. The result of this comparison shows that the applicability of the present as well as existing models is reasonably good. Based on the present models for CIWH, a computer code entitled as“KAIST-CIWH”has been developed and sample guide charts to find CIWH free regions for a given combination of major flow parameters in a long horizontal pipe have been presented along with the results of parametric studies of major parameters (D, P, $T_{f,in}$, and L/D) on the critical inlet water flow rate($W_{f,in}_crit$ for both lower and upper bounds. In addition, two simple formulas for lower and upper bounds that can be used in an emergency for quick results have been presented.

대수누선파양에 대한 확률론적 3차원 사면안정해석 (Probabilistic Three-Dimensional Slope Stability Analysis on Logarithmic Spiral Failure)

  • 본 연구에서 경계가 불규칙하고 여러 토층으로 이루어진 자연과 인공 사면에 대한, 토층의 경계에서 굴절하는 대수나선곡선을 파괴면으로 가정한 신뢰도해석 모델을 개발하였다. 이 모델에서, 사면파괴토괴는 양 끝단이 수직평면으로 된 일정한 폭을 가진 Cylindroid로 가정하여 절편법을 적용하였고, 강도정수의 공간적인 변화, 불충분한 시료의 수에 의한 오차 그리고 실험실과 현장조건의 차이에서 오는 모델오차를 고려하여, FOSM 그리고 SOSM의 방법으로 신뢰도 지수를 구하여 파괴확률을 구하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이러한 연구를 기초로 다음의 결과를 얻었다: (1) 내부마찰각의 변동계수가 점착력의 변동계 수보다 민감하게 영향을 미침을 보여주었다. 따라서 대수나선파괴면의 사면안정해석에서 내부마 찰각의 불확실성이 사면안정에 더 큰 영향을 주므로 내부마찰각의 추정에 더 큰 주의를 기울여야할 것으로 사료된다. (2) 지진이 없을 경우에는, 사면폭이 증가함에 따라 전체 3차원파괴확률과 한계파괴폭은 증가하였으며, 지진이 있을 경우에는 전체 3차원파괴확률은 증가하였으나 한계 파괴폭은 전체 사면폭이 비교적 클 때, 진도가 커짐에 따라 급격히 감소하였다. (3) 지하수위는 높을수록, 전단강도와 수정계수는 작을수록 사면의 한계폭을 감소시키는 효과가 있다.

다짐으로 인한 순환골재의 파쇄 및 공학적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Crushing and Engineering Characteristics Caused by Compaction of Recycled Aggregates)

  • 노후화된 콘크리트 포장 및 건물 철거 시 많은 양의 폐콘크리트가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐콘크리트를 파쇄 처리하여 생산된 순환골재가 다시 인근 도로 현장의 노체 또는 노상 재료로 사용될 경우, 다짐으로 인한 파쇄정도와 입도 변화가 공학적 특성(투수계수 및 전단강도)에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 현장에서 수거된 순환골재의 크기를 3 종류(31.5-45.0mm, 19.0-31.5mm, 9.5-19.0mm)로 나눈 다음, 이를 일정한 비율로 혼합한 총 7 종류의 시료를 대상으로 수정 B 및 D 다짐시험을 실시하였다. 다짐으로 파쇄된 순환골재에 대한 체분석을 실시하여 다짐 에너지와 골재 크기에 따른 파쇄 정도를 4 종류의 파쇄지수($B_{15}$, $C_c$, $B_{10}$, $B_r$)로 계산하였다. 다짐에너지에 따른 파쇄지수는 지수에 따라 D 다짐의 경우가 2.0-8.0배 정도 더 높은 파쇄성을 보였으며, 가장 큰 골재의 파쇄성이 가장 작은 골재에 비해 1.4-3.0배 정도 더 높았다. 한편, 5.6-9.5mm 사이 순환골재를 분쇄하여 파쇄지수 중 $B_{15}$에 따라 1, 3, 10, 20, 30, 50, 60, 70이 되도록 입도 조정한 시료에 대해 투수시험과 직접전단시험을 실시하였다. 파쇄지수($B_{15}$)가 증가함에 따라 투수계수는 계속 감소하였으며, 파쇄지수가 50일 경우 1/22까지 감소하였다. 한편, 순환골재의 마찰각은 파쇄지수가 1에서 50까지 증가함에 따라 $46.1^{\circ}$에서 $54.5^{\circ}$까지 증가하다가 60 이후는 다시 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

A numerical study of scale effects on performance of a tractor type podded propeller

  • In this study, the scale effect on the performance of the podded propeller of tractor type is investigated. Turbulent flow computations are carried out for Reynolds numbers increasing progressively from model scale to full scale using the CFD analysis. The result of the flow calculation for model scale Reynolds numbers agrees well with that of the experiment of a large cavitation tunnel. The existing numerical analysis indicates that the performance of the podded propeller blades is mainly influenced by the advance coefficient and relatively little by the Reynolds number. However, the drag of pod housing with propeller in operation is different from that of pod housing without propeller due to the acceleration and swirl of propeller slipstream which is altered by propeller loading as well as the pressure recovery and friction according to Reynolds number, which suggests that the pod housing drag under the condition of propeller in operation is the key factor of the scale effect on the performance between model and full scale podded propellers. The so called 'drag ratio', which is the ratio of pod housing drag to total thrust of podded propeller, increases as the advance coefficient increases due to accelerated flow in the slipstream of the podded propeller. However, the increasing rate of the drag ratio reduces continuously as the Reynolds number increases from model to full scale progressively. The contribution of hydrodynamic forces, which acts on the parts composed of the pod housing with propeller operating in various loading conditions, to the thrust and the torque of the total propeller unit are presented for a range of Reynolds numbers from model to full scales.

노인 스트레스 측정 도구(SESS)의 신뢰도 및 타당도 검증 연구 (A Study on the Verification of the Profile of Seo구s Elderly Stress Scale (SESS))

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the use of Seo's Elderly Stress Scale (SESS), which was developed in 1996. Through the modified tool, it is possible to examine the stress of Korean elders and to contribute to the welfare of them. The subjects were 350 elders over 65 years old who live in Seoul, Kwang-Ju, Yang-Ju Gun Kyung-ki Do, Ui-Jong Bu, and Young-Am Kun, Jeun-Ra Nam Do. the data of 331 elders (94%) were analyzed. Data were collected between January and March in 1996 and analyzed using the SPSS Win 8.0. The result are as follows: 1. Items with low correlation with the total items were removed. So 27 items were removed and 37 items remained. This 37 items were death in the family and/or close friends, family member's behavior not meeting expectations, marriage of daughter, marriage of son, friction with daughter- in-law, argument among children, children refuse to live with parent, children leaving home, sex injury or accident, in frequest visits from children and grandchildren, providing care for your daughter or daughter-in-law post-partum, decrease in decision making and authority in home, Lunar new year and the harvest featival, house sitting, working in the house, performing a sacrificial rite, missed birthday, not living with the eldest son, decreased eyesight, decreased strength, decreased memory, sleep pattern changes, thoughts about death, loneliness, decreased hearing, change of dental condition, change in your diet or eating style, difficulty in self care, moving because of disease or aging, argument with friend or neighbour, travel, dealing with the procedure of heritage, loss of money or property, not enough pocket money, hearing on elderly neglect in television or radio, hope of going home and ignorant from others. 2. Overlapped items were discussed by colleagues and were modified. 'marriage of daughter' and 'marriage of son' were modified in 'marriage of children'. 'self injury or accidents' and 'family accidents' were modified in to self or family accidents. 3. Factor analysis was done in order to identify validity and three factors were obtained from the result. The first factor familial relation area, included 17 items. The second factor, physical area, included 9 items. The third factor, psycho-socio-economic area, included 9 items. Cronbach coefficient alpha for the 35 items was .923. 4. Pearson's correlation was .704 between SESS and SOS (Symptoms of Stress) in order to confirm construct validity. Based on the result, the following is suggested; 1. The modified SESS needs to be reverified with elder. 2. Korean elder's health promotion can be made by development of stress intervention which was accurately measured with SESS.

지형 강제력과 하층제트 변화가 한반도 남동 지역 국지 강수에 미치는 영향 분석 연구 (Impact of Topographic Forcing and Variation of Lower-level Jet on Local Precipitation in Southeast Region of Korean Peninsula)

  • Recently, a heavy rainfall with high spatial variation occurred frequently in the Korean Peninsula. The meteorological event that occurred in Busan on 3 May 2016 is characterized by heavy rain in a limited area. In order to clarify the reason of large spatial variation associated with mountain height and location of low level jet, several numerical experiments were carried out using the dynamic meteorological Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. In this case study, the raised topography of Mount Geumjeong increased a barrier effect and air uplifting due to topographic forcing on the windward side. As a result, wind speed reduced and precipitation increased. In contrast, on the downwind side, the wind speed was slightly faster and since the total amount of water vapor is limited, the precipitation on the downwind side reduced. Numerical experiments on shifting the location of the lower jet demonstrated that if the lower jet is close to the mountain, its core becomes higher due to the effect of friction. Additionally, the water vapor convergence around the mountain increased and eventually the precipitation also increased in the area near the mountain. Hence, the location information of the lower jet is an important factor for accurately predicting precipitation.

확대 채널에서 리브 배열이 열전달에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Rib Arrangement on Heat Transfer in the Divergent Channel)

  • The effects of the different rib geometries such as V-shaped continuous (case A), parallel broken (case B), and V-shaped broken (case C) ribs on the heat transfer and pressure drops in a divergent channel with $45^{\circ}$ inclined ribs on one wall or two walls are checked out. The top and bottom walls are adiabatic; two side walls are uniformly heated in the divergent rectangular channel. The tested Reynolds numbers are ranged from 22,000 to 75,000. The channel with two opposite walls inclined only has the length of test section of 1 m and the channel divergence ratio of $D_{ho}/D_{hi}=1.49$, corresponding to $1.43^{\circ}$ inclined walls. The results show in the identical pumping power that the V-shaped continuous rib (case A) with two ribbed walls is the greatest, but the parallel broken rib (case B) with one ribbed wall is the worst in the thermal performance.

비개착 강관압입공법의 지표침하 예측방법 연구 (A Study on Surface Settlement Prediction Method of Trenchless Technology Pipe Jacking Method)

  • 최근 급격한 도시화로 인한 신도시, 택지개발지구 등의 증가로 기존 구조물 하부를 통과하는 비개착 강관압입공법의 적용이 증가하는 추세이다. 비개착공법은 시공 중 기존구조물의 정상적인 운영 안정성이 확보되어야 하므로 강관압입에 의한 지표침하의 정밀한 예측이 필수적으로 필요한 공법이다. 강관압입 시 침하를 발생시키는 원인은 강관 선단과 강관과의 직경차에 의한 공극, 원활한 강관압입을 위한 과굴착, 강관과 지반과의 마찰에 의한 공극 발생 등이 있으며, 이는 Shield TBM 시공 시 발생하는 침하 원인과 유사하다. 본 연구에서는 Shield TBM의 침하 예측방법인 Gap Parameter Method와 Volume Loss Method를 이용하여 강관압입 시 침하를 예측하였으며, 현장시험을 통하여 예측방법에 대한 비교 분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과 Volume Loss 예측방법이 현장시험과 가장 유사한 결과로 나타났으나, 추후 예측방법의 Factor 결정 및 비개착공법 전체 침하예측을 위한 적용성 등 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

난류전단 흐름에서의 기포응집에 관한 수치모의: 2. 모형의 적용 (Numerical Simulation of the Coalescence of Air Bubbles in Turbulent Shear Flow: 2. Model Application)

  • 난류전단 흐름에서의 기포 크기분포를 예측하기 위하여 개발된 Monte-Carlo 모의모형을 실험실 크기의 문제에 적용하였다. 각종 모형 매개변수 및 물리적 변수들에 대한 민감도 분석을 수행하였으며, 실험 관측치와의 비교를 통하여 모형의 실제 적용성에 관하여 조사하였다. 공기와 물의 유량비 또는 마찰계수가 증가함에 따라 기포의 크기가 커지는 것으로 나타났다. 평균유속이 증가함에 따라 가포의 크기는 작아지지만, 폭기구간내 기포의 총표면적은 거의 일정함을 보였다. 모형의 종방향 거리증분에 따른 기포 크기분포의 변화는 거의 없었으며, 횡방향 거리중분을 크게 할수록 기포가 크거나 작은 쪽으로 치우쳐 중간정도의 크기를 갖는 기포의 수가 감소하였다. 기포의 크기분포는 그 초기분포 및 공기의 주입위치에 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 기포의 충돌과 응집을 구분하기 위하여 충돌효율을 도입하였다.
