In order to produce antibody for use in radioimmunoassay of gastrin in physiological concentration, four rabbits of New Zealand white were immunized with synthetic human gastrin-17-I conjugated to hemocyanin with EDC. Among them, only one rabbit produced antibody that could bind 50% of $^{125}I-gastrin$ at a final dilution of 1:25,000. $^{125}I-gastrin$ was prepared with synthetic human gastrin-17-I and $NaI^{125}$ by lactoperoxidase technique. The product was then purified on a column of Sephadex Gl5/G5O (7:3, w/w) followed by a column of DEAE sephadex A-25. The specific radioactivity of the purified $^{125}I-gastrin$ was in the range of 347-1429 ${\mu}Ci/nmole$ when determined by the self-displacement method. The effective affinity constant $(K_{eff})$, total binding sites (N), heterogeneity index $({\alpha})$ and average affinity constant $(K_{0})$ of the anti-gastrin serum calculated from Scatchard plot as well as Sips plot were $1.77{\times}10^{11}/M$, 255 nM, 0.84 and $0.79{\times}10^{11}/M$, respectively. When radioimmunoassay was performed with the anti-gastrin serum, it was confirmed that the mean concentration of gastrin immunoreactivity in plasma was increased by feeding in humans and rats, and also increased by bombesin administration in rats. The results indicate that the anti-gastrin serum produced in the present investigation is suitable for radioimmunological determination of gastrin in physiological concentration.
In this study it was analyzed by 2-D FEM and 3-D FEM to evaluate the ground reinforceing effect of steel pipe reinforced multi -step grouting (SPRG) technique and the behavior of ground in the vicinity using the nonlinear FEM program for the ground condition of alluvium located on the top of tunnel applied by SPRG technique. It was found that the nonlinear 3-D analysis performed better than 2-D analysis in evaluating the usefulness of the SPRG technique, and it was also found that the safety was relatively secured by the stiffness of steel pipe to distribute the concentrated stress in the tunnel faceing. It was reported that the change of settlement on the top of tunnel becomes about 40% of the total expected settlement before tunnel faceing reaches tunnel gauging point, and 60% of the total expected settlement while tunnel facing passes tunnel gauging point and takes a distance about tunnel diameter. With the aid of the SPRG technique the control range of displacement and stress of the ground in the vicinity could be reached up to tunnel top, namely depth ratio from 0.38 to 0.83 or 2D(D : tunnel diameter) before the tunnel facing, and about 20% of settlement control in this particular case was possible.
Over the past decade, labor costs have increased relative to the cost of material hardware according to analysts in the construction industry. Therefore, the minimum weight design, which has been widely adopted in the literature for the optimal design of steel structures, is no longer the most economical construction approach. Presently, although connection- related costs is crucial in determining the most cost-effective steel structures, most studies on this subject focused on minimum-weight design or engaged in higher analysis. Therefore, in this study, we proposed a fabrication scheme for the most cost-effective moment-resisting steel frame structures that resist lateral loads without compromising overall stability. The proposed approach considers the cost of steel products, fabrication, and connections within the design process. The optimal design considered construction realities, with the optimal trade-off between the number of moment connections and total cost was achieved by reducing the number of moment connections and rearranging them using the combination of analysis that includes shear, displacement and interaction value based on the LRFD code and optimization scheme based on genetic algorithms. In this study, we have shown the applicability and efficiency in the examples that considered actual loading conditions.
As a part of the study for understanding the deep geological structure of the Ogcheon Zone, both gravity and geomagnetic surveys are performed. A 70km survey line of which direction is nearly perpendicular to major faults in the southern tip of the Zone. The observed data are corrected and transformed into Bouguer and total magnetic intensity anomalies, respectively. Recent studies for petrology and geochemistry in the southwestern Ogcheon Zone in the vicinity of the survey line are reviewed for better interpretation. Both gravity and geomagnetic anomalies abruptly change around Janghung area, the southern boundary of the, Ogcheon Zone. This rapid increase of Bouguer anomaly around Janghung area can be explained by a deep seated normal fault with fairy large displacement between Precambrian gneisses and the denser intermediate plutonic rocks. It is believed that the fault acted an important role for the formation and evolution of the Ogcheon Zone. A pseudomagnetic intensity anomaly is calculated from the Bouguer anomaly assuming that the both anomalies are associated with the common source. From the origin of the survey line to the 50km point, the calculated anomaly coincides with observed magnetic anomaly. Whereas both anomalies show negative correlation in the outside 50km. From the residual Bouguer anomalies, the subterranean geological structure is provided through the iterative forward method. The initial model is obtained from informations about the surface geology as well as the results of the inverse method.

3D laser scanners are an effective way to quickly acquire a large amount of data about an object. Recently, it is used in various fields such as surveying, displacement measurement, 3D data generation of objects, construction of indoor spatial information, and BIM(Building Information Model). In order to utilize the point cloud data acquired through the 3D laser scanner, it is necessary to make the data acquired from many stations through a matching process into one data with a unified coordinate system. However, analytical researches on the accuracy of point cloud data according to the registration method are insufficient. In this study, we tried to analyze the accuracy of registration method of point cloud data acquired through 3D laser scanner. The point cloud data of the study area was acquired by 3D laser scanner, the point cloud data was registered by the ICP(Iterative Closest Point) method and the shape registration method through the data processing, and the accuracy was analyzed by comparing with the total station survey results. As a result of the accuracy evaluation, the ICP and the shape registration method showed 0.002m~0.005m and 0.002m~0.009m difference with the total station performance, respectively, and each registration method showed a deviation of less than 0.01m. Each registration method showed less than 0.01m of variation in the experimental results, which satisfies the 1: 1,000 digital accuracy and it is suggested that the registration of point cloud data using ICP and shape matching can be utilized for constructing spatial information. In the future, matching of point cloud data by shape registration method will contribute to productivity improvement by reducing target installation in the process of building spatial information using 3D laser scanner.

In order to outline the kinematics and movement history of a new Quaternary fault, Jingwan Fault in Dangjin, West Korea, we analyzed the geometry of the fault zone composed of a few gouge zones, and made ESR dating for fault gouge materials. The $N55^{\circ}E$ striking Jingwan Fault is a normal fault and exhibits a gradual change in dip (gentle in the lower part, steep in the upper part), indicating a listric fault. As for the fault gouge zone, its thickness varies and reaches 2~3 cm in the lower part or between basement rocks, and 20~30 cm in the middle-upper part or between the basement and Quaternary deposit. It is observed in the latter case that more than three gouge zones develop with different colors, and branch out and re-merge, or they are partly superimposed, indicating different movement episodes. The cumulative displacement is estimated to be about 10 m using the geological cross-sections, from which it is inferred that the total length of fault may be about 2.5 km on the basis of the empirical relation between cumulative displacement and fault length. Therefore, a more study would be needed to verify the entire fault length. The results of ESR dating for three gouge samples at different spots along the fault yields ages of $651{\pm}47$, $649{\pm}96$, and $436{\pm}66ka$, indicating at least two movement episodes. Slickenlines observed on the fault planes indicate a pure dip slip (normal faulting), which suggests that the ENE-WSW trending Jingwan Fault was presumably moved under a NNW-SSE extensional environment.
Anthropogenic activities and natural processes have been causes of land subsidence which is sudden sinking or gradual settlement of the earth's solid surface. Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, is one of the most severe land subsidence areas which are resulted from excessive groundwater extraction. Because groundwater is the primary water resource occupies almost 70% of total water usage in the city. Traditional terrestrial observations like the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or leveling survey have been preferred to measure land subsidence accurately. Although the GNSS observations have highly accurate information of the surfaces' displacement with a very high temporal resolution, it has often been limited due to its sparse spatial resolution and highly time-consuming and high cost. However, space-based synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry has been widely used as a powerful tool to monitor surfaces' displacement with high spatial resolution and high accuracy from mm to cm-scale, regardless of day-or-night and weather conditions. In this paper, advanced interferometric approaches have been applied to get a time-series of land subsidence of Mexico City using four-year-long twenty ALOS PALSAR L-band observations acquired from Feb-11, 2007 to Feb-22, 2011. We utilized persistent scatterer interferometry (PSI) and small baseline subset (SBAS) techniques to suppress atmospheric artifacts and topography errors. The results show that the maximum subsidence rates of the PSI and SBAS method were -29.5 cm/year and -27.0 cm/year, respectively. In addition, we discuss the different subsidence rates where the study area is discriminated into three districts according to distinctive geotechnical characteristics. The significant subsidence rate occurred in the lacustrine sediments with higher compressibility than harder bedrock.

Generally, PSC girder bridge uses total gross cross section to resist applied loads unlike reinforced concrete member. Also, it is used as short and middle span (less than 30 m) bridges due to advantages such as ease of design and construction, reduction of cost, and convenience of maintenance. But, due to recent increased public interests for environmental friendly and appearance appealing bridges all over the world, the demands for longer span bridges have been continuously increasing. This trend is shown not only in ordinary long span bridge types such as cable supported bridges but also in PSC girder bridges. In order to meet the increasing demands for new type of long span bridges, PSC hollow box girder with H-type steel as compression reinforcements is developed for bridge with a single span of more than 50 m. The developed PSC girder applies compressive prestressing at H-type compression reinforcements using unbonded PS tendon. The purpose of compressive prestressing is to recover plastic displacement of PSC girder after long term service by releasing the prestressing. The static test composed of 4 different stages in 3-point bending test is performed to verify safety of the bridge. First stage loading is applied until tensile cracks form. Then in second stage, the load is removed and the girder is unloaded. In third stage, after removal of loading, recovery of remaining plastic deformation is verified as the compressive prestressing is removed at H-type reinforcements. Then, in fourth stage, loading is continued until the girder fails. The experimental results showed that the first crack occurs at 1,615 kN with a corresponding displacement of 187.0 mm. The introduction of the additional compressive stress in the lower part of the girder from the removal of unbonded compressive prestressing of the H-type steel showed a capacity improvement of about 60% (7.7 mm) recovery of the residual deformation (18.7 mm) that occurred from load increase. By using prestressed H-type steel as compression reinforcements in the upper part of cross section, repair and rehabilitation of PSC girders are relatively easy, and the cost of maintenance is expected to decrease.
This study was carried out to investigate the semen characteristic, motility and viability and sperm motion characteristic by CASA test for establishing the Jindo-dog's semen freezing system. The results obtained are as follow: 1. The semen was collected 63 times. Average volume of semen, concentration of sperm, total number of sperm, progressive motility and viability were 3.8 $m\ell$ 145.6$\times$10$^{6}$ cells/$m\ell$, 396.2 x10$^{8}$ cells, 79.7% and 89.5%, respectively. Also, Fawn (Yellow) Jindo-dog comparing with White Jindo-dog showed better concentration of sperm, total number of sperm, progressive motility and viability. Among all dogs, the results of No. 2 Fawn Jindo-dog were the best. 2. The average progressive motility and viability of semen from 46 times were 73.5%, 82.3% before freezing and 51.1%, 64.9% after freezing. So, the freezing of semen has affected the progressive motility and viability. The progressive motility and viability of Fawn Jindo-dog's semen, before and after freezing, were better than White Jindo-dog. And No. 2 Fawn Jindo-dog showed the best results and showed significantly different among all dogs (P<0.05). 3. The 44 times-tested .esults by CASA system were as follow; MOT (motility) 65.6%. PROG (progressive motility) 54.8%, VAP (average path velocity) 75.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec, VCL (curve linear velocity) 90.0 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec, VSL (straight-line velocity) 69.4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec and ALH (amplitude of lateral head displacement) 4.4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Although the motion characteristic of frozen semen were not significantly different between White and Fawn Jindo-dog, No. 2 Fawn Jindo-dog showed the best results and was significantly different among all dogs (P<0.05). 4. The success rate of frozen semen production between White and Fawn Jindo-dog were 43% (13/28), 94% (33/35), respectively, and the total success rate was 73% (46/63). The freezing-ability of Fawn Jindo-dog's semen was better than the other. Conclusively, the present results indicated that the characteristic and motility of Jindo-dog') semen were suitable for processing frozen semen, artificial insemination and mass production system. Also, the selection of suitable dog-breed was so important because the characteristic and freezing-ability of semen were significantly different between White and Fawn Jindo-dogs and among all individual dogs.

Authors evaluated 1171 patients at the department of Pediatric Dentistry in Kyoungpook National University Hospital through clinical records and radiographs. And the following features were studied ; age, sex distribution, number of mesiodens per patients, cause of discovery of mesiodens, location, status of eruption, shape and orientation of crown, complication, dental age of adjacent upper incisor tooth at the time of surgical extraction of mesiodens and the relationship between the resolution rate of complication after extraction of mesiodens and the dental age of adjacent upper incisor tooth, length of diastema, the eruption status of lateral incisor and the crowding status of premaxilla. The followings are the results : 1. The cause of discovery of mesiodens were as follows ; delayed eruption of the permanent incisors in 13.8%, midline diastema in 11.6%, radiographs taken for other reasons in 23.4% and for caries treatment in 15.1%. 2. Complication due to the presence of mesiodens did not occur in 36.8%, delayed eruption of adjacent teeth was observed in 16.1%, midline diastema in 34.4%, rotation in 8.8%, displacement in 2.4%, and crowding in 1.0% of all evaluated patients. 3. As for the dental age of adjacent upper incisor tooth at the time of surgical extraction of mesiodens, below 1/3 of total root length were observed in 3.5%, $1/3{\sim}1/2$ of total root length in 19.9%, $1/2{\sim}2/3$ of total root length in 54.7% and over 2/3 in 21.9% of all evaluated patients. 4. Resolution rate of delayed eruption after the extraction of mesiodens was significant higher in the group with the root length below 1/2. Resolution rate of midline diastema was significant higher in the group with diastema width below 3mm and with non-crowding of adjacent upper incisor teeth.
