The Practical Method and Experimental Verification of Temperature Estimation in the Permanent Magnet of Electric Machine

  • This paper presents a practical method for estimation of average temperature in the permanent magnet (PM) of electric machine by using finite element analysis (FEA) and dynamo load experiment. First of all, the temperature effect of PM to the torque has been employed by FEA in order to evaluate the Temperature-Torque characteristic curve. The 1st order polynomial equation which is torque attenuation coefficient is derived by the FEA result of the Temperature-Torque curve. Next, torque saturation test with constant current condition is performed by dynamo load experiment. Then, the temperature trend can be estimated by adding the initial starting temperature using the torque attenuation coefficient and torque saturation curve. Lastly, estimated temperature is validated by infrared thermometer which measures temperature of PM surface. The comparison between the estimated result and experimental result gives a good agreement within a deviation of maximum $8^{\circ}C$.

커브피팅 알고리즘이 적용된 토크 정밀 측정 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on Torque precision measuring System using Curve Fitting Algorithm)

  • This paper is the study on the development of a torque precision measuring system using the curve fitting algorithm. This system can be divided into the hardware part and the software part. The hardware part consists of the main base board, the DAQ(Data Aquisition) board and Calibration parts. The software part consists of the software filter module and the curve fitting algorithm module. We have tested the torque transducer including the strain gauge for 200 Nm range and have analyzed the data acquired with the curve fitting algorithm by using this system. The DAQ board converts the electric signal induced by the transducer to the digital value precisely by using the shunt calibration procedure. The main board including the curve fitting algorithm calculates the exact digital torque value by using the digital value from the DAQ board. In this study, we confirmed that the result of the appropriate high-order power-series polynomial function is more accurate than the result of the low-order power-series polynomial through the system.

  • On-center handling feel indices are the important numerical factors that meaning performance of manuability and stability felt by drivers. They should be considered to suspension design. The major factor that affect to these indices is the shape of assist torque curve. This paper presents the variables that meaning the shape of the assist torque curve and analyze the effect of each variables. And using interaction formulas, it is proposed that the method to extract the variables that satisfy the goal indices. The result of simulation that applied assist torque curve extracted by the method demonstrate the capability of this method with error under 8%.

  • This paper presents a synchronous reluctance motor drive for maximum torque to current (MTC) considering magnetic saturation. Measured d-axis and q-axis inductances are used to obtain current angle vs. maximum torque curve using torque equation. Maximum torque to current control is achieved by the current angle and stator current for maximum torque from the current angle vs. maximum torque curve at a given torque reference.

  • This paper presents the torque calculation method of a permanent magnet spherical motor. To calculate the torque of the spherical motor by using finite element method (FEM), 3-dimensional FEM must be used. However since it spends too much time and memory in using 3-D FEM, the easier torque calculation method was presented. In this method, it is very important to get the approximation function of the torque profile curve; the authors present the approximation method of the torque profile curve. This paper shows the torque calculation result coming closer to the torque by 3-D FEM.

  • 정확한 토크 체결력을 제공하기 위하여 토크 측정기는 최소자승이 적용된 커브피팅 알고리즘을 사용한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 보정 최소자승 커브피팅 알고리즘은 토크 정밀 측정을 사용하는 다양한 산업분야에서 볼트와 너트에 향상된 체결력을 제공할 수 있다. 먼저, 제안한 알고리즘에 대한 수학적 모델을 소개하고, 제안한 알고리즘을 시뮬레이션하여 기존 알고리즘과 그 결과를 비교하였다. 보정된 최소자승 알고리즘은 기존의 토크 측정에 사용되었던 알고리즘보다 낮은 표준 오차 값을 보임으로써 제안한 보정된 최소자승 알고리즘의 성능의 정확성을 증명한다. 따라서, 본 알고리즘을 토크 계측에 적용함으로써 정밀 산업기계 및 전자부품 그리고 기타 항공기, 우주선등 나사의 조임 체결력이 적용되는 산업분야에 적용함으로써 비용 및 안전성 향상에 기여될 것을 예상한다.

  • This paper presents the torque calculation method of a permanent magnet spherical motor. To calculate using the finite element method (FEM), three-dimensional (3D) FEM must be used. However, since the method requires excessive time and memory, an easier torque calculation method is hereby presented. In the proposed method, it is very important to obtain the approximation function of the torque profile curve. We present the approximation method of the torque profile curve and show that the torque calculation result can approximate the torque obtained by 3-D FEM.

  • An effective estimation method of equivalent circuit parameters of three-phase induction motor by using FEM is presented in this paper. Arbitrary three torque-speed points at asynchronous speed on the torque-speed curve are required by using time-stepping FEM, then the equivalent circuit parameters of IM can be calculated rapidly with presented method. After obtaining the equivalent circuit parameters, the general analysis method based on equivalent circuit can be used to get entire torque-speed curve very quickly. Although the purely numerical method such as FEM also can estimate torque-speed curve directly and accurately, however, usually this process is time consuming.

계자회로 개방시의 직류기의 이상현상에 관한 소고

  • 직류분권 전동기에 있어서 정상운전시에 계자회로를 개방하면 회전자의 속도가 매우 상승하는 경향이 있다. 여기에서는 이러한 이상현상 자체를 수학적으로 해석해서 개방후의 회전자의 속도변화와 전기자전류의 변화를 시간의 함수로써 구하였다. 그리고 회전자의 속도 및 전기자전류, 잔류자기와 회전자 최종속도와의 관계, 부하 torque를 생각했을 경우의 회전자속도강하조건, 및 speed-torque curve도 구해보았다. Speed-torque curve의 경우에는 수학적으로는 복잡함으로 간단히 하기 위하여 과도기간을 편의상 subtransient와 transient의 두가지 period로 나눈 다음 물리적 현상을 고려하여 sub-transient를 무시해서 생각하였다. 본 실험에서 detector로는 Diehl tachometer-generator를, tachometer입력으로는 Hewlett-Packard사제 Model 200CD형 oscillator에 의한 20cps signal을 사용하였다. 그리고 회전 속도와 전기자전류를 Duel Channel Sanborn-150 recorder로 기록하였다.
