Functional analysis of air transport mission (항공 수송 임무의 기능 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Functional analysis of air transport mission is conducted to establish the performance requirements of the commercial transport designs. The analysis process begins by making a top-down analysis to the aircraft system level mission functions. Correctly interpreting the top-level performance requirements is the first step in designing and building an aircraft system. Each function and sub-function is allocated and examined to the aircraft level and flight operations phase to optimize the system performance and design requirements, such that these lower-level requirements can be traced back to the top-level requirements they are designed to fulfill. Special attention is given to making sure all interfaces, both internal and external, are addressed. The results are also in good resources of functional hazard assessment involved in certification processes.

  • Avionics system's function for an air transport mission is analysed. The starting point for designing a Avionics system is a clear understanding of the mission requirements and the requirement allocation by the top level aircraft system. Therefore, the analysis begins by making a top-down analysis to the aircraft missions. The baseline mission is divided into segments, and each segment is subjected to a detailed analysis to establish the requirements for the Avionics system. Special attention is given to capture the key aspects of interfaces, and to incorporate them into the design.

  • It is essential design process to analyze processing load and set up top level software and hardware mapping using main parameters before implementation of the SAR processor. This paper identifies the requirements upon the software and hardware mapping to be assessed and suggests its practical method to the SAR processor. Also, simulation is performed to the E-SAR processor to examine the practicability of the method and the results are discussed. Thus, this method can be applied to the SAR processor.

  • Faults detection and containment requirements are typically allocated from a top-level specification as a percentage of total faults detection and containment, weighted by failure rate. This faults detection and containments are called as a fault coverage. The fault coverage requirements are typically allocated identically to all units in the system, without regard to complexity, cost of implementation or failure rate for each units. In this paper a simple methodology and mathematical model to support the allocation of system fault coverage rates to lower-level units by considering the inherent differences in reliability is presented. The models are formed as a form of constrained optimization. The objectives and constraints are modeled as a linear form and this problems are solved by linear programming. It is identified by simulation that the proposed solving methods for these problems are effective to such requirement allocating.

  • Railway systems are one of the best mass transit systems and many people have prevented incidents/accidents and reduced fatalities remarkably. Especially we have tried analyzing and finding the measures to prevent catastrophic accidents like train collision, derailment and fire because of their severities. It is important to assess the safety performances of railway systems like crash-worthiness analysis, body, derailment affecting factor analysis and so on for reducing and finding out the reasonable causes of disastrous accidents. In this paper the refined top-level system requirements to build-up national infra for assessing railway safety performance and the procedures and methodology for reviewing, verifying and validating infra requirements are explained. Basically the authors have used system engineering processes to analyze and verify the requirements and installation procedures and have tried maximizing the practicality of the various safety assessment systems.

  • For last 10 years, there are big progress and many efforts in the development of HTS power equipments by some country including South Korea. Especially HTS cable system is the strongest candidate among them from the viewpoint of applying to real grid, because of the feature of it, compact and large capacity. In South Korea, transmission level 154kV, the world top voltage class, HTS cable system was installed and has been tested in KEPCO Gochang Underground Cable Test Field since the early of 2010 in order to meet test requirements made by KEPCO, the only grid company in South Korea. The type test of it will be completed by October 2010 and subsequently long-term load cycle test will be performed during 6 months. Also in the near future, KEPCO has a plan to demonstrate transmission level HTS cable system in real grid, in order to meet practical requirements and confirm the feasibility of it. This paper says the test plan of transmission level 154kV HTS cable system and the way how to test it.

Survey on the Functional Clothing Design Factors for the Military Wearable Robot (육군 착용형 로봇을 장착하기 위한 기능성 의복 설계 요소 조사)

  • This study aims to derive the design requirements for functional clothing worn with military wearable robots using a survey of people with military experience. Specifically, 982 adult males with military and muscular exercise experience were surveyed for their demands for the clothing worn with wearable robots during military activities. The study showed that it is necessary to develop functional clothing worn inside robots suitable for frequent movements of soldiers to improve their comfort level of wearable robots. The surveyed soldiers indicated that they preferred the top and bottom clothing with high-pressure levels because the upper body felt fatigued during transportation, while both the upper and lower body got exhausted during marches. The survey of design requirements revealed that the participants preferred a top with long sleeves and a bottom with ankle-length leggings in color similar to current military uniforms. We conclude that it is important to design functional clothing worn inside wearable robots in different forms depending on frequent movements, e.g., with differentiated pressures and material placements.

Requirements for the Advancement of the National Standard System of Korea (우리 나라 국가표준체계 현황과 선진화 방안)

  • The significant role of the national standards has ever been growing as a critical infrastructure of the national competitiveness. Strategic policies for the advancement of the national standards system in Korea are suggested based on the analysis of trends surrounding the national standards at home and abroad. National standards failing in securing international recognition of its technical competence give an adverse effect to the improvement of industry and national welfare. As a most effective way toward the advancement of the national standards system, the national metrology institute should be placed at the top of the national standards system so as to exert its influence with its technical capabilities close to international level. Efforts are to be made to secure international credibility of the national standards through faithful implementation of the requirements of the mutual recognition arrangement(MRA). And, the legal structures should be refined to be in harmony with the global environment.

  • In this study, Urban maglev is applied to inductive-loop speed and position detection system for the top-level classification system for the entire system, and performed functional analysis On-board signal equipment, Wayside-signal equipment divided by the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety through analysis of the proposed formula. RDB and by applying a system service for each device was calculated to availability, safety analysis. The PHA, FMEA, HAZOP over the Top Event of the FTA is performed by presenting the results. This also shows approach methods and relative activities for project to accomplish and ensure the system requirements.

  • Web services promise a new level of service on top of current web. However, in order to employ their full potential, appropriate descriptions means for web services need to be developed. Recent efforts to describe web service composition lack important features needed to enable a real automated and declarative combination of services. In this paper a set of requirements for effective Semantic Web Service composition are presented, aiming to clarify the state of the art in the area and at providing guidelines to define next steps to be accomplished. We will provide an analysis of BEPEL4WS, DAML-S and WSMF, the most important initiatives in this direction, based on these requirements, describing to what extent current efforts have developed the potential of Semantic Web Service composition.
