실시간 감시를 이용한 배전용변압기 과부하 평가 시스템 개발 (Development of Overload Evaluation System of Distribution Transformers using Real-Time Monitoring)

  • The development of overload management systems for distribution transformers offers new opportunities for improving the reliability of distribution systems. It allows network planners to optimize the system resource utilization and investment cost. Such an improvement in the flexibility of the distribution network is only possible if the operator has more accurate knowledge of the realtime conditions of distribution transformers. In this paper, we present an improved overload decision system for distribution transformers using realtime monitoring data. Our study can be categorized into two parts: (a) improvement in the criteria for judging the overload conditions of distribution transformers and (b) development of an overload evaluation system using realtime monitoring data. In order to determine the overload criteria, overload experiments are performed on sample transformers; the results of these experiments are used to define the relationship between the transformer overload and the increase in the top-oil temperature. To verify the accuracy of the experimental results, field tests are performed using specially manufactured transformers, the loads and top-oil temperatures of which can be measured. For arriving at online overload decisions, we propose methods whereby the measured load curve can be converted into an overload characteristic curve and the overload time can be calculated for any load condition. The developed system is able to evaluate the overload for individual distribution transformers and calculate the losses using realtime monitoring data.

볶음온도에 따른 참기름의 휘발성향기성분 변화 (Studies on the Volatile Flavor Compounds of Sesame Oils with Roasting Temperature)

  • 참기름의 향기성분을 GC 및 GC/MS로 분석한 결과, pyrazines 26종, pyridines 11종, thiazoles 9종, furans 6종, pyrroles 8종, phenols 5종, aldehydes 8종, hydrocarbons 8종, alcohols 7종, indoles 2종, ketones 3종, acids 10종, nitriles 4종, esters 7종, 기타 5종 등 119종의 향기성분을 분리, 동정 및 정량하였다. 향기 성분총량은 볶음온도상승에 따라 증가하여 초기함량 42.16ppm로부터 $150^{\circ}C$ 볶음온도에서 79.29ppm으로 약 2배, $210^{\circ}C$ 볶음온도에서 약 5배(209.35ppm), $230^{\circ}C$ 볶음온도에서 314.60ppm으로 약 8배 생성된 것으로 나타났다. 분리되어나온 향기성분을 머무름시간에 따라 3등분하여 top note(peak No. $1{\sim}91$), middle note(peak No. $92{\sim}197$), last note(peak No. $198{\sim}224$)로 분류 비교한 결과, pyrazine화합물을 포함하고 있으며 관능적으로 중요한 top note함량이 초기함량 19.87ppm으로부터 $170^{\circ}C$에서 75.89ppm으로 약 4배 증가한 후, 이후 온도상승에 따라 현저한 증가현상을 나타낸 반면, middle note함량은 초기함량 17.72ppm으로부터 $170^{\circ}C$에서 36.71ppm으로 약 2배 증가한 후, $220^{\circ}C$인 경우 95.61 ppm에서 $230^{\circ}C$인 경우 138.62ppm으로 급격히 증가하였다. last note는 $170^{\circ}C$까지 거의 변화하지 않다가 $190^{\circ}C$에서 급격히 증가, $220^{\circ}C$ 이후 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 향기성분 중 주요구성화합물은 pyrazine화합물이었고 볶음온도상승에 따라 $150^{\circ}C$ 까지는 미미한 증가현상을 나타내다가 $170^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 화합물 중 가장 급격한 증가현상을 나타내었다. yrazine화합물 중에서 온도상승에 따라 가장 많은 변화를 보인 화합물은 methylpyrazine, 2,5-dimethyl pyrazine, 2,6-dimethylpyrazine, trimethylpyrazine, 2-ethyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazine등이었다. pyridines, thiazoles, aldehydes, alcohols도 비슷한 증가현상을 나타내었고 acids은 $190^{\circ}C$까지는 $2.51{\sim}4.41$ ppm으로 거의 변화를 보이지 않다가 $210^{\circ}C$에서 18.92 ppm으로 급증하였고, 이후 $220^{\circ}C$에서 7.20ppm, $230^{\circ}C$에서 5.56 ppm으로 점진적으로 감소하였다. 이는 nonanoic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid등이 고온가열에 의해 생성되었다가 이들이 열분해로 소실되었기 때문으로 생각된다.

멕시코만의 BP사 오일유출 해저 대책에 대한 분석 (Subsea Responses to the BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico)

  • On April 20, 2010, a well control event allowed hydrocarbon (oil and gas) to escape from the Macondo well onto Deepwater Horizon (DWH), resulting in an exploration and fire on the rig. While 17 people were injured, 11 others lost their lives. The fire continued for 36 hours until the rig sank. Hydrocarbons continued to flow out from the reservoir through the well bore and blowout preventer (BOP) for 87 days, causing an unprecedented oil spill. Beyond Petroleum (BP) and the US federal government tried various methods to prevent the oil spill and to capture the spilled oil. The corresponding responses were very challenging due to the scale, intensity, and duration of the incident that occurred under extreme conditions in terms of pressure, temperature, and amount of flow. On July 15, a capping stack, which is another BOP on top of the existing BOP, was successfully installed, and the oil spill was stopped. After several tests and subsea responses, the well was permanently sealed by a relief well and a bottom kill on September 19. This paper analyzes the subsea responses and engineering efforts to capture the oil, stop the leaking, and kill the subsea well. During the investigation and analysis of subsea responses, information was collected and data bases were established for future accident prevention and the development of subsea engineering.

배전용 변압기의 과부하상태를 고려한 수배전반 안전 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Safety Algorithm of Switchboard Considering Overload of Transformer in Distribution System)

  • In this paper, an experiment result on overload of distribution transformer was arranged by top oil temperature depending on capacity and time. This result shows the definition on overload of transformer is different by some factors such as ambient temperature and immediate load. In other words, increased temperature in range of regulation(50K) has time to spare even if the condition of transformer is overload. The algorithm presented in this paper is based on the international standard (IEEE std C57.91), and the safety of switchboard is diagnosed by this aspect mentioned on overload of transformer.

  • Warm forming technology was classified into hot gas forming of using compressible fluid as a nitrogen gas and warm hydroforming of using the incompressible fluid as a thermal oil by using medium fluid. In this study, the aluminum side-rail part was developed with warm hydroforming technology. For the warm hydroforming system, top and bottom die was designed to insert heating cartridge in die cavity and special indirect fluid heating system was designed to heat the thermal oil. As increase the temperature, hydroformability was increased linearly. Aluminum side-rail center part was formed 90% at the internal pressure of 100bar and perfectly formed at 300bar within a moderate temperature. The tube material used for warm hydroforming was a aluminum 6000 series alloy with the diameter of 120mm, thickness of 5mm, length of 1,300mm. Warm hydroformed side-rail center part had 20% of maximum expansion ratio and below 20% of maximum thinning ratio at corner radius. This results were provided to show warm hydroforming possibility for aluminum automotive components.

외기 온도 증가가 가스 포일 스러스트 베어링의 하중지지 성능과 표면 코팅에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Increasing Ambient Temperatures on the Static Load Performance and Surface Coating of a Gas Foil Thrust Bearing)

  • Gas foil thrust bearings (GFTBs) are oil-free self-acting hydrodynamic bearings that support axial loads with a low friction during airborne operation. They need solid lubricants to reduce dry-friction between the runner and top foil and minimize local wears on their surfaces during start-up and shutdown processes. In this study, we evaluate the lift-off speeds and load capacity performance of a GFTB with Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) surface coating by measuring drag torques during a series of experimental tests at increasing ambient temperatures of 25, 75 and 110℃. An electric heat gun provides hot air to the test GFTB operating in the closed booth to increase the ambient temperature. Test results show that the increasing ambient temperature delays the lift-off speed and decreases the load capacity of the test GFTB. An early developed prediction tool well predicts the measured drag torques at 60 krpm. After all tests, post inspections of the surface coating of the top foil are conducted. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images imply that abrasive wear and oxidation wear are dominant during the tests at 25℃ and 110℃, respectively. A quantitative energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) microanalysis reveals that the weight percentages of carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen decrease, while that of fluorine increases significantly during the highest-temperature tests. The study demonstrates that the increasing ambient temperature noticeably deteriorates the static performances and degrades the surface coating of the test GFTB.

  • As increasing the failure of distribution transformers, we need to manage them efficiently. This paper proposes the method for distribution transformer's management using loss-of-life calculation. The Data Acquisition System(DAS) was developed to manage transformers and the HDLC protocol applied to the system. It will be feasible application to diagnose distribution transformers by checking load conditions such as top oil temperature, ambient temperature, load current, etc. and using loss-of-life calculation.

Molecular Identification of Lipase LipA from Pseudomonas protegens Pf-5 and Characterization of Two Whole-Cell Biocatalysts Pf-5 and Top10lipA

  • To identify lipase LipA (PFL_0617) from Pseudomonas protegens Pf-5, a lipA deletion mutant (Pf0617) and a complementary strain (Pf0617lipA) were constructed, and their effects on the lipase production were examined. Pf0617 remarkably decreased its whole-cell lipase activity, whereas Pf0617lipA made its whole-cell lipase activity not only restore to wild-type level but also get a further increment. However, the deletion and overexpression of lipA did not affect the extracellular lipase activity. In addition, the unbroken whole cells of these strains were able to catalyze the hydrolysis of membrane-permeable p-nitrophenyl esters, but could not hydrolyze the membrane-impermeable olive oil. These results confirmed that LipA was an intracellular lipase and Pf-5 could also be used as a natural whole-cell biocatalyst. To evaluate the potential of Pf-5 as a whole-cell biocatalyst and separately characterize the whole-cell LipA, the properties of the whole-cell lipases from Pf-5 and Top10lipA were characterized. The results demonstrated that both Pf-5 and Top10lipA exhibited high tolerance to alkaline condition, high temperature, heavy metal ions, surfactants, and organic solvents. Taken together, lipA can realize functional expression in E. coli Top10, and Pf-5 and Top10lipA as whole-cell biocatalysts may have enormous potential in applications.

LPGdusfy 엔진의 피스톤온도 및 카본디포짓 형성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Piston Temperatures and Carbon Deposit Formation in LPG Fuelled Engine)

  • The wide open throttle performance and piston temperatures were measured by the change of fuel : gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas(LPG). Bench test method was developed and experimented to study the effect of temperature on the formation of carbon deposit. The bench test results were confirmed by measuring the piston temperature and observing the deposit production rate at an actual engine running condition. Results show that if the fuel of spark ignition engine is changed from gasoline to LPG, the output power decreases about 10% and the piston temperatures increase about 40~55$^{\circ}C$. In actual engine tests, because of this temperature increase, it was observed that the quantity of carbon deposit in the top ring groove increased in a big degree. Consuquently, it is known that the fing sticking may occur if the gasoline engine was rebuilt to LPG fuelled engine. Therefore, in order to preserve the durability of LPG fuelled engine, it is necessary to lower the piston temperature by hardware modificationor to reduce the carbon deposit by the improvement of engine oil.

화재 실험을 통한 에어컨 실내기의 화염확산에 관한 현상학적 연구 (A Phenomenological Study on the Flame Spread of Air Conditioner Indoor unit by Fire Tests)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 연소 실험을 통하여 에어컨 실내기의 화염확산에 관한 형상을 관찰하여 화재원인 및 발화지점을 확인하기 위함이다. 본 실험은 화염이 주변으로부터 에어컨 상단에 옮겨 붙는다는 것을 가정하여 실내기 상단을 n-햅탄을 적신 천으로 착화시켰으며, 동일한 조건으로 2회의 반복실험을 하였다. 착화 후 559 s와 734 s 사이에 실내기와 연결된 냉매관이 파열되면서 내부에 충입되어 있던 냉매와 함께 윤활유가 커다란 폭음을 내며 고온 고압의 화염이 급격히 분출되었으며 연소 잔류물을 확인한 결과, 증발기 일부와 모터, 금속함 등을 제외한 대부분은 소실되었다. 에어컨 자체에서 발화되었을 경우와 외부 화염에 의해 소훼되었을 경우 배선의 합선흔적 위치는 유사하였다. 따라서 연소 잔류물의 형상만으로 발화원인과 지점을 특정 짖는 것은 불확실하다는 것을 확인하였다.
