철도안전프로젝트에 적용한 시스템엔지니어링 관리계획서 작성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Systems Engineering Management Plan for the Railway Safety Project)

  • The Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) is the primary, top level technical management document for the integration of all engineering activities at the project plan phase. This document defined the activities to plan, control, and perform overall engineering integration. To develop the SEMP for Railway Safety System, several standards are reviewed and analyzed. And then a common requirement for SEMP preparation is derived from the results of analysis. Also, the SEMP example available practically applies to Railway Safety System. In particular, The SEMP focused on controling technical program management has been organized so far, but in this study the detailed contents of SEMP put stress on project management is derived. And it is related to each other between project management and technical engineering management. At the end, to continuously manage the items and contents of the SEMP, a database management and an automatic document generation system is presented using Computer-Aided Systems Engineering (CASE) tool.

환경경영시스템의 도입에 따른 중소기업의 환경경영 개선 (Improvement of Environmental Management in Small and Medium-Sized Firms through the Implementation of Environmental Management System)

  • As environmental issues have been become critical concerns of business, many domestic small and medium enterprises(SME's) are rapidly accepting environmental management systems(EMS) that confirm ISO 14001 guidelines. The purpose of this paper is to present the results of an empirical study carried out on a sample of certified SME's with the aim of identifying obstacles encountered in adopting ISO 14001 standards and the impact of environmental systems on corporate performance after implementation of the ISO 14001 registration process. Data from this study show that the vast majority of respondents reported environmental improvements related to the implementation of an ISO 14001 EMS, especially in the area of employees' participation of the environmental management and responsibilities for reducing negative impacts, energy and resource conservation, materials reuse, and raising top management commitment. The greatest obstacles for implementing the ISO 14001 standard are lack of cooperation and a scarcity of resources such as personnel, money, and time. Results of this study serve as a reference point understanding the problems in the implementation of ISO 14001 in other small and medium firms.

A Study on the Better Operation of Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems

  • This study was conducted to identity the characteristics of occupational health and safety management systems around the world, to survey the implementation of OHSMS in Korean companies, to find problems and corrective measures, and to understand the opinions of top management about OHSMS. Questionnaires on the operation of occupational health and safety management systems in Korean manufacturing companies were carried out. Occupational health and safety management systems around the world, including OHSAS 18001, BS8800, KOSHA 18001, VPP, J-OHSMS, were reviewed. In order to implement an occupational health and safety management system successfully, it was found that the management should consider occupational health and safety as important, provide employees with necessary training, and have a strong commitment to occupational health and safety.

우리나라 금융기관 정보시스템 관리에 있어서 핵심과제분야의 파악을 위한 연구 (A Study for the Determination of Key Issues in Information Systems Management of Financial Institutions in Korea)

  • There have been several studies on the key issues in information systems (IS) management. This study replicates the Society for Information Management (SIM) survey done in U.S.A. to investigate the key issues in IS management in Korea. This survey focused especially on the professions in financial institutions. A three-round Delphi method was employed to collect the opinions of participants and obtain a reasonable level of consensus about the key IS management issues of financial institutions in Korea. The number one issue identified was top management support, followed by recruitment and development of IS human resources. This article also compares the key IS management issues of financial institutions and those of manufacturing industries in Korea.

  • In business aspects, the corporate usually confronted with various risks. such as the management problems of the quality, the environment, the safety & health, the ethics, and the social responsibility. Overall monitoring of these aspects is required to the top manager ceaselessly. In the past ways, for these problems, the government has been controlled the corporate to keep them. But nowadays, the needs of self management of these topics is rising up for the business continuity especially to the multi-national corporate. To prove their soundness they issued the management status report periodically. Internal audit will works not only the self confirming tool but also the best supporting tool for the policy managements in such circumstances. So, an effective internal audit will lead the business continuity management to the future.

  • With the world in financial recession, the general trend of global trade is declining. As a result, the world leading shipbuilding industries are confronted with an even more difficult task of mitigating various risks associated with the industries. How well the three shipbuilding industries, Japan, Korea and China, can adapt and manage the risks will be crucial. As the youngest of the top three, the Chinese industry faces greater risks. As it happens to share many factors with that of South Korea in 2004-2005, it is necessary to review and evaluate the risk management plan used by South Korea. This paper presents an evaluation of the risk management plan for shipbuilding industry in South Korea during 2004-2005, considering the financial and political environments at that time. This will help us to structure a plan of risk management for the future.

중견제조기업의 디지털전환(DX) 과정에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Digital Transformation Process of Mid-Sized Companies)

  • 본 연구는 제조기업의 디지털 전환(DX)을 위한 실행모형을 개발하기 위해 진행하였다. 이를 위하여 경영혁신과 디지털전환 과정에 대한 선행연구를 검토하였다. 인터넷 비즈니스의 혁신과정에서 적용된 NEBIC이론과 혁신이론을 기반으로 DX과정모형을 도출하였다. 여기에 최고경영층(TMT)의 추진의지 요인을 포함한 연구모형을 구축하고 이를 검증하기 위해 험자료를 통해 확인하였다. 디지털 전환을 추진하고 있는 중견 제조기업의 구성원을 대상으로 수집된 자료를 기반으로 연구가설을 검증하였다. 회귀분석을 통해 연구모형(기술지식 → 기회인지 → 기대성과 → 실행의지)의 각 단계의 영향관계를 확인하였다. DX과정에 최고경영층의 DX추진의지에 대한 구성원의 인식의 매개효과를 파악하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시였다. Sobel test 확인결과, 각 단계별 관계에 경영층의 DX추진에 대한 인식이 부분적으로 매개하는 사실을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 중견 제조업의 디지털 전환에 적용 가능한 모형을 제시했다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 또한 혁신연구 및 NEBIC 확장에 대한 경험적 근거를 제공한 것에 가치를 지닌다. 동적특성을 지닌 과정모형에 대한 실증자료의 한계를 극복하기 위해서 종단연구가 필요하며 연구결과의 일반화를 위해 제조업 이외 다양한 분야에서 확장된 실증연구가 요구된다.

병원의 수익성 관리개선을 위한 의료이익계획모형 및 혁신.합리화전략 개발연구 (Medical Profit Planning Model and Innovative Strategies to Improve Profitability Management in Hospitals)

  • This study discusses how to rationalize or innovate the managerial practice of the profitability-deteriorated hospitals in Korea, and attempts to suggest proper planning models and strategies to reorient them. For these purposes, the hospitals' financial indicators were analysed, the process of profit planning were reviewed, and strategic assessment were made, using relevant data. The analysis shows that failures both in proper capital investment to fixed assests and in effective containment of operating costs have been causing the worsening of profitability. For the improvement of the profitability management, seven procedural and behavioral strategies were suggested from the innovative and rationalizing perspectives, together with necessary prerequisite conditions to be equipped with for their implementation. This study concludes that the top management should attempt the changs on their own initiative.

A Review of Safety and Quality Issues in the Construction Industry

  • Construction industry is considered as the most hazardous industry due to its unique nature. Safety and quality management are essential to control hazards and improve success in project implementation. This paper focuses on evaluating the crucial factors influencing safety and quality management in construction projects. In order to achieve this, the qualitative and quantitative approaches were used for data collection. The findings of this study reveal the crucial safety factors as management commitment, safety awareness of top management practices/ procedures/ reviews, and errors in judgement or carelessness. Project supervision, employee involvement/ altitude, and expertise knowledge/ training were considered as the crucial quality factors influencing safety and quality management. The study shows that safety and quality issues cannot be overlooked therefore proper implementation is paramount to achieve project success.
