  • Even though the origin and nature of nocturnal paroxysmal dystonia (NPD) remains unclear, it has been considered as a manifestation of the nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy. We report a 17-year-old man with abnormal stereotyped movement during sleep. Video-EEG monitoring, ictal SPECT and night polysomnography did not show any evidence of epilepsy. However, the partial response to large dose of carbamazepine and the scoring according to the frontal lobe epilepsy and parasomnias (FLEP) scale suggest his events could be classified as epilepsy. Therefore we think the FLEP scale might be a useful tool for differential diagnosis in a patient presenting NPD.

초음파 금속 용착용 반파장 혼의 설계 (A Horn of Half-Wave Design for Ultrasonic Metal Welding)

  • Ultrasonic metal welding is one of the welding methods which welds metal by applying high frequency vibrational energy into specific area at constant pressure, avaliable in room temperature and low temperature. Ultrasonic metal welder is consisted of power supply, transducer, booster, and horn. Precise designing is required since each parts' shape, length and mass can affect driving frequency and vibration mode. This paper focused to horn design, its length L was set to 62mm by calculating vibration equation. By performing modal analysis with various shape variable b times integer, when length of b is 30mm the output was 39,599Hz at 10th mode. Also by performing harmonic response analysis, the frequency response result was 39,533Hz, which was similar to modal analysis result. In order to observe the designed horn's performance, about 4,000 voltage data was obtained from a light sensor and was analyzed by FFT analysis using Origin Tool. The result RMS amplitude was approximately 8.5${\mu}m$ at 40,000Hz, and maximum amplitude was 12.3${\mu}m$. Therefore, it was verified that the ultrasonic metal welding horn was optimally designed.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 레크리에이션 치료의 도구로서 영화를 사용하는 것 (예, 씨네마테라피)을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이 연구는 선행연구 검토를 통해서 씨네마테라피의 개념과 기원에 대해서 알아보고 레크리에이션 치료나 다른 임상현장에 중요한 치료수단으로 씨네마테라피를 소개한다. 저자들은 씨네마테라피 과정을 자세하게 설명하고 다른 가능한 치료방법과 씨네마테라피를 레크리에이션 치료에 접목하는 것을 고려한다. 마지막으로, 디브리핑 스테이지에서의 유도 샘플 질문들은 레크리에이션 치료사들이 제안한 씨네마테라피에서 사용할 수 있을 영화들의 예이다.

  • Floral scent emitted from many plants is the key factor for pollinator attraction and defense for survival in nature and is important industrial materials for perfumery as well. It is a complex mixture of various organic molecules with a high volatility or a high vapor pressure. In general, floral scents are divided into three categories, aliphatics, terpenoids, and phenylpropanoids/benzenoids, based on its origin. About 1,700 scent compounds have been identified and their biochemistry and molecular biology also have elucidated their biosynthesis from various flowering plants during the last ten years. In addition to improvement of vase life, flower color and shape, and/or disease resistance, floral scent is coming up to the major breeding target for improvement of marketability. Therefore, metabolic engineering can be an important tool in near future and may be able to facilitate the breeding program for novel cultivar selection and improvement of marketability of floricultural crops.

인터넷 쇼핑 시 중요하게 고려하는 의류상품 구매후기 정보에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study of Important Information on Consumer Reviews in Internet Shopping)

  • This study investigated the consumer review information considered important by consumers when making a purchase decision to buy apparel products online. Data were collected through focus group interviews. Eleven females in their 20s and 30s, who have extensive experience in reading consumer reviews posted on online apparel stores, participated in the study. The consumer review information considered important by participants is the information related to seven product attributes (size, fabric, design, color, sewing, price, and country of origin), seven benefits (functional, financial, esthetic, emotional, social, utilitarian benefits, and product value compared to price) of the apparel product and four store attributes (return/refund, delivery, reputation/credibility, and customer service). The findings from the study can serve as an important tool in developing survey questions in order to evaluate the quality of consumer review information and help online retailers plan methods to improve the quality of reviews.

In situ Hybridization of a Megalocytivirus Using Nucleic Acid Probes against ATPase and the Major Capsid Protein of Rock Bream Iridovirus

  • Systemic infections of maricultured fishes by Megalocytivirus species have occurred over a broad area in South Korea, causing extensive economic loss. We developed digoxigenin-labeled nucleic acid probes against the 230-bp ATPase and 311-bp major capsid protein (MCP) of rock bream Oplegnathus fasciatus iridovirus (RBIV) using polymerase chain reaction, and an in situ hybridization (ISH) method to detect Megalocytivirus in formalin-fixed tissues of mariculture species (rock bream, sea bass, and olive flounder). ISH-positive cells were abundant in the hematopoietic and connective tissues of various organs, while brain tissue showed little or no signal. The ISH procedure can become an important diagnostic tool in complement with histopathological methods, and advances epidemiological studies on the origin and distribution of Megalocytivirus in mariculture.

  • Most rail system related simulators currently used are designed to simulate only one discipline system. This obviously assumes the other discipline systems are running regularly not being affected by the system being simulated. In this paper a multi discipline simulator is proposed and its design concept is presented. A multi discipline simulator is the simulator in which major subsystems with different technical discipline are simulated simultaneously. The advantage of the simulator is in that it makes it possible to analyze the systems behavior while other discipline system vary. With this we can identify the possible multi-discipline problems and even find their solutions. A proto type simulator has been developed using object oriented programming. Object concept was judged best suitable to model the various multi-discipline self-controlling railway subsystems. It was applied to the target system, which is under development by the Korea Railroad Research Institute. The test results shows it is very useful in designn verification. It could also be a good tool in research and development work to improve the system.

고환의 백색막에 발생한 샘모양종양이 압착도말 세포소견 - 1예 보고 - (Touch Imprint Cytology of Adenomatoid Tumor of the Tunica Albuginea - A Case Report -)

  • Adenomatoid tumor is a benign neoplasm of a mesothelial origin, and it usually occurs in the reproductive organs, especially in the epididymis. The author experienced a case of adenomatoid tumor involving the tunica albuginea and testicular parenchyme without any evidence of epididymis involvement. The patient was a 36-year-old man with a painless scrotal mass that he had experienced for 2 months, and this mimicked testicular neoplasia, including metastatic carcinoma, or other benign lesions. The imprint cytology of the tumor showed a hypocellular smear with mainly arranged cells in cohesive monolayered clusters along with occasional singly dispersed cells and naked nuclei in a clean background. The cellular clusters formed vague glandular and cord-like structures. The tumor cells were large polygonal to columnar cells with a relatively monomorphic appearance. The nuclei were oval to round shape and they showed vesicular, fine chromatin and inconspicuous nucleoli. The cytoplasm was moderate to abundant, and it contained fine vacuoles in some tumor cells. Mitoses and cellular pleomorphism were not present. Awareness of the cytologic finding of this lesion is necessary to screen or differentiate a testicular or paratesticular mass before and/or during surgery because the cytology may be useful as a diagnostic tool. Pathologists should be aware of the cytologic features of common lesions in this anatomic region so as to avoid performing aggressive and unnecessary surgical procedures.

CFD전산모사를 이용한 Al 6063 Heat Sink 최적화 설계와 열전도성 Polycarbonate와의 방열성능 비교 분석 (Optimization of Al 6063 Heat Sink using CFD Simulation and Comparative Analysis of Thermal Dissipation Properties with Thermal Conductive Polycarbonate)

  • In the LED lighting applications, because LED packages are the origin of heat generation, there are thermal design problem on heat sinks. In the thermal design, it is important to consider the total volume and the total weight of heat sink simultaneously. In this study, an Al 6063 heat sink was optimized using Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) simulation tool for the cooling of 30W LED module, and then the cooling performance and the total weight of heat sinks with Al 6063 and Thermal Conductive Polycarbonate(TCP) were compared under the same conditions. As the result of simulation, an Al 6063 heat sink was optimized with 22 ea. of fins and 1.6 mm of fin thickness. LED Junction Temperature of the TCP Heat Sink was $5.6^{\circ}C$ higher, but total weight of it was 47 % less than the Al 6063.

A Facial Chuna Manual Therapy for Peripheral Facial Nerve Palsy

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate useful manual therapy techniques for peripheral facial nerve palsy and to propose guidelines to be applied for current manual therapy techniques. Several databases were searched to find manual therapies for facial palsy. These therapies included cervical, and temporomandibular joint chuna manual therapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, neuromuscular re-education, facial exercise, and mime therapy. Both cervical, and temporomandibular joint chuna manual therapy release nerve compression, helping blood circulation and nerve conduction. Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation uses irradiation, bilateral activation, and eccentric facilitation to improve muscle power and symmetry. Neuromuscular re-education, as a retraining tool for facial movement patterns, enhances neuromuscular feedback. Facial exercise helps the patient continuously move and massage facial muscle themselves. Mime therapy aims to develop a conscious connection between the use of certain muscles and facial expressions. The use of facial chuna manual therapy for peripheral facial nerve palsy can stimulate the proprioceptive neuromuscular receptors in the face. Peripheral facial nerve palsy has 4 phases; progress phase, plateau phase, recovery phase, and sequelae phase. Each phase needs different treatments which include relaxation, assistance, resistance, origin-insertion extension, and nerve pathway expansion.
