Development of the EAI Solution Selection Criteria : Focused on the case of KRA (EAI(Enterprise Application Integration) 도입을 위한 평가기준 개발 적용에 관한 연구 : KRA 적용사례 중심으로)

  • Recently companies are aggressively Pushing ahead with integrating the systematical applications of internal and external information systems such as Data level, Application level, Process level in the company, Process level between companies. The EAI solution is generally considered as the necessary tool to integrate companies, but the appraisal standard for the EAI solution has not Vet settled in Korea, so the companies have difficulty in deciding whether to adopt the EAI solution or not. Through this report, we first introduce the KRA Project as the best practice in making an application of the settled standard to evaluate and adopt the EAI solution, and then suggest that it can be adapted to companies considering applying to the EAI solution.

  • Microfluidics and BioMEMStechnology has increasingly been used as a tool for studying small volumes oftissue and even individual cells. One of the most important benefits ofmicrofluidic technology is the potential to build devices that analyze and sortmammalian cells. The "sorting problem" typically requires that a fewcells be selected and isolated from a larger population of hundreds, thousandsor even millions of other cells. For example, cancer tumor cells may resideamong a large population of healthy cells, but it would be of great interest toidentify, isolate and study only the cancer cells. In another application, onemay want to determine the number of white blood cells within a sample of blood.We have developed microfluidic devices that enable researchers to select cellsfrom a population by a variety of methods, including antibody staining,dielectrophoretic selection, and physical size selection. These devices haveapplications in cancer research where cancer cells must be identified fromnormal tissue, but where only small samples of tissue are available. In thistalk, we will present some of our microfluidic cell sorting devices, discusstheir physical principles, and their use in biological applications.

A Design of Multi-Field User Interface for Simulated Breeding

  • This paper describes a design of graphical user interface for a simulated breeding tool with multifield. The term field is used here as a population of visualized individuals that are candidates of selection. Multi-field interface enables the user to breed his/her favorite phenotypes by selection independently in each field, and he/she can copy arbitrary individual into another field. As known on genetic algorithms, a small population likely leads to premature convergence trapped by a local optimum, and migration among plural populations is useful to escape from local optimum. The multi-field user interface provides easy implementation of migration and wider diversity. We show the usefulness of multi-field user interface through an example of a breeding system of 2D CG images.

  • There was not the evident analysis about the cutting process of CNC machining, and wouldn't be difficult to estimate the result of machining for the various cutting conditions. Therefore they were not founded the systemic technology about the optimum cutting conditions and selection of cutting tools. So this study have investigated the common facts for needs through the end-mill cutting machining by Machining-Centers or High-speed cutting machines, and developed the user-centered intelligent decision system to selection of the methodology about cutting conditions to improve the machining efficiency of end-mill cutting process.

  • Material selection is one of the important activities in design and manufacturing. A selected material at the conceptual design stage affects material properties of the designed part as well as manufacturability and cost of the final product. Unfortunately there are not many accessible material databases that can be used for design. In this research, a web-based material database was constructed. In order to assist designers to compare different materials, two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphs were provided. Using these graphical tools, multi-dimensional comparison was available in more intuitive manner. To provide environmental safety of materials, the database included National Fire Protection Association publication Standard No.704. The web-based tool is available at http://fab.snu.ac.kr/matdb.

SUPPLIER SELECTION UNDER UNCERTAINTY: A FUZZY-SET APPOACH

  • Traditionally, the evaluation and selection of suppliers have been a major purchasing function. A growing concern for just in-time purchasing, global sourcing, and long-term partnership between buyers and suppliers makes selecting a righ supplier become more critical decision making process. Consequently, a rigorous and systematic method for evaluation suppliers is a must. However, assessing the values of factors(e.g. qulaity , delivery, and service) selected for evaluating suppliers contains elements of uncertainty. Although several methods have been developed for uncertainty analysis, they may not be proper tools for evaluating suppliers under uncertainty. In this paper, a methodology using a fuzzy-set approach in combination with a multicriterion decision-making (MCDM) technique is developed to use as a tool for evaluating suppliers under uncertainty. An numerical example is presented to demonstrate the method in practice.

  • In order to predict vibration trends occurred during vehicle drive, acceleration data was processed by using data processing algorithm with moving average and Hilbert transform. Specific mode constants of acceleration were obtained under various disturbance. Vehicle velocity, road condition, property of pointing structure were considered as factors which make change of vibration trend in vehicle dynamics. Results of signal processing were compared and analysed. Advanced performance of the timing selection algorithm from this study was verified by using simple equipment comparing with the deflection measurement laser system(Muzzle Reference System).

  • This paper assesses interruption costs on the industry load through using the microscopic method. For assessment, the questionnaire was made on Korea Standard Industry Categorization which is composed of 28 type of industry Then, the survey was distributed to 1889 business in 12 area by staffs of KEPCO. The collected data is changed to the trustworthy data by using Bad Data Selection method and then the interruption costs of industry load was calculated by Tobit Regression which is tool analysing both collected data and the others.

  • An expert system for NC part programming of NC lathe (ESPP-1) is developed as a part of Computer-Adied Manufacturing system. Conventional computer-assisted part programming system essentially requires an NC part programmer who is an expert in NC part programming. But the developed ESSP-1 can allow an inexperienced person to make an excellent NC data for the NC Lathe without any problem, since the system has a knowledge base composed of EIA and ISO NC code, feed rate, spindle speed, machining coordinates selection, and tool selection etc., which were directly evoked from some skilled NC part programmers, and referenced some machining handbooks. This paper discusses the algorithm of the expert system for NC part programming of the NC lathe (ESPP-1) and the performance comparisons between the developed expert system and the conventional system.

  • This paper focuses on a automation selection of optimal cutting conditions and cycle time for multi-spindle metal cutting machines based on machining parameters and tool change schemes which are the two most common terms used in the metal cutting. In this research we used two step generative approach, step 1 is mathematical modeling for the selection fo optimal cutting conditions and the other is GMDH-Type modeling to estimate the system performance evaluation. We developed computer programs for these models and the fitting manufacturing examples are applied to this model and it was shown that the proposed approach has a good potential and offers a valuable tools to analyse the metal cutting system.
